Marvelous Experience! In addition to being an entrepreneur and running a business, I am a Volunteer PTA 5th Grade Chairperson at elementary school in Baldwin Long Island. I know the importance of customer service. We had a group of 86 people including almost 50 10 year olds that took a trip to a Broadway Play The Lion King and lunch in Manhattan. We have dealt with several bus companies thru the years that came late, substandard buses that we had to refuse to accept and not comfortable/clean. When Designer Limo charter buses pulled up to our school we were thrilled! The buses were hitech, well equipped with clean bathrooms, luxury seats, 3 huge flat screen TV's with DVD player(working) which the children loved!. The front of the bus had a table with four comfortable seats - perfect to catch up on work and do mini meetings. The service of the drivers was phenomenal. Andrew and Chris arrived early, was very accommodating and were eager to setup our DVD before we left the school. Coordinating 2 Buses of children at two locations in NYC on Matinee Day during rush hour was no problem for this team of drivers at Designer Limo. They kept in touch with the coordinators from the Restaurant to the Lion King and strategically arranged a safe pickup location where we could load quickly and make it back to Long Island safely. I would recommend Designer Limo for any school trip or other event. Some of the parents are making plans to hire a charter outside of school! Great Job Designer Limo! more

Made my Wedding day hell 5/30/2012

I had the worst experience ever with Designer Limousines. They said I hadn't fully paid when I came out of the Church (no one contacted me the day before to say this nor did they say it at my house while they waited an hour before the Wedding started) The Limo & Bride/Groom car drivers were so rude, made the Bride cry, drove like crazy guys & Limo guy crashed into barrier where one kid hit her head. They said horrible things but thankfully due to our smart videographer he taped the two guys saying everything. The Venue took them off their list right after as the staff couldn't believe how rude they were, i never got an apology from anyone & everyone that hears the unedited video is shocked. Unprofessional/rude/bullies. more

Unbiased, honest review...of a DISHONESTtcompany. 5/3/2012

About a year ago, I started searching for limo/charter bus companies for my brother's bachelor party. As you can imagine, this was an important day for my brother and his close friends, so I wanted to get the best option possible. I came across Designer Limo's website, saw that most of the reviews were positive (with a few horror stories), and decided what the heck, the bus has a million awesome amenities (ipod jack, satellite TV, comfortable chairs, etc), so I went for it. The price was relatively reasonable, I think about 2,000 dollars for the night split between about 18 guys, and we were just going from Long Beach, Long Island to CitiField to see a Mets game (with perhaps a few stops afterwards at local bars). The night started out without a hitch. The driver showed up on time (in fact about 15 minutes early, but reassured us that there was no rush), we paid upfront in cash, and we got on our way. Now, as you can imagine, even though there were some empty seats on the mini-bus, 18 guys in the middle of summer can get a little stuffy. So, when we realized that the AIR CONDITIONING DIDN'T WORK, we were a little concerned. The driver assured us it was on full blast, but it was blowing out only hot hair through the vents and we were all sweating. In fact, the ice in our colors began to melt so rapidly that containers full of ice when we left became soupy/luke warm water just 45-60 minutes later. Unfortunately, we couldn't open windows, so it was very uncomfortable. After a bunch of calls back and forth between the driver, ourselves, and the management, the issue was never resolved. Then the other problems started...the ipod jack did not work AT ALL, and neither did the television. The driver had absolutely no idea how to work either of them, and despite the efforts of us, the driver, and the management who we had on the phone, neither worked for the entire trip. So, for what became a 1.5-2 hour trip due to traffic, we had 1) No air conditioning on a hot august day; 2) no radio/ipod and 3) No satellite TV, ALL OF WHICH were advertised as being fully available on the website with this bus. To the management's credit, due to all the problems, they sent a larger bus to citifield, which had a functioning radio, air conditioning, and even a bathroom. Although it didn't cure the miserable ride to the game, it was a nice gesture and a good business move that we greatly appreciated. Things went ok after the game...the bus was nice, everything worked as advertised (even though we had no TV and just listened to the radio cause the bus had no ipod jack), and it drove us around a bit to some bars. We ultimately went to a bar and the bus waited outside for us. We had to be home at 4 AM, so to be safe, around 245 (we were only about 30 minutes from long beach), we started gathering in the bus...the only problem? THE BUS BROKE DOWN. As it turned out, the bus totally busted. Not even the electricity worked, so we couldn't lay down on the seats and try to sleep while we waited for a THIRD bus to come get us. From 245 til about 430 AM, we sat and waited while a ""mechanic"" of some sort showed up. Ultimately, we piled on the third bus of the night, that mercifully ended our miserable night and drive us home. When I called about our issues, I was at first met with apologies and promises that they will give us a free limo ride at a time and place of our choosing. While still furious about our ordeal, I was able to calm all thsoe who paid close to 200 dollars, and we tentatively planned a wine tour out east. Unfortunately, after multiple promises from the company that they will accommodate our future trip, the management suddenly fell off the face of the earth and stopped returning my calls. So, all I got was a lot of talk, with absolutely no delivery. I guess that's a good business strategy? Promise you will rectify a situation until the disgruntled customer gives up? more

LIARS! TERRIBLE COMPANY TO WORK WITH! 3/26/2012

I am the ultimate ""read a review before I do anything"" person, so when I came here to read the reviews I thought everything would be okay. Little did I know how UNORGANIZED this company is, and how difficult it would be to work with them. more

TERRIBLE Company 1/20/2012

I DO NOT recommend this company at all. When we first booked them they guy was really nice, then we decided to change our package and it was a problem. Of course the attitude changed... We were dealing with I guess the owner, I don't remember his name, but he was RUDE and NASTY. I wanted to cancel bc we found a company that was less expensive, but we couldn't bc we already left a deposit and they said we'd lose it. Basically, we were stuck. So on top of being ripped off, and pretty much scammed, on the day of our wedding the car for me and my husband had no champagne in it. We had the rolls royce ghost with no champagne in it. That's the least they should've done for us!!!! It was horrible... not the end of the world, but I was really annoyed! more

Delivers promise 9/21/2011

I wanted to thank you again for helping organize the limousine needs for the Weiss/Sloan wedding that took place on August 30th. All the drivers were all that you had promised: well dressed, attentive, timely, and cooperative in many ways. Those who I had most contact with were Josh, Steve, and ""T"". Worth every penny 9/19/2011

Response from the management- It is company policy a credit authorization is signed at the time of arrival when it is not signed prior to the wedding day. As per our wedding contract which available for viewing and downloading from our website, It states that over time rates are at a premium on the wedding day. The company encourages to pre-book overtime hours on all weddings at a discounted rate. Designer Limousines allows a 15 minute free grace period. Once exceeded, only then will overtime be in. All drivers are equipped with gps. If a driver asks a client for assistance with directions, it would only be to expedite traveling time most efficiently. more

I just had an event with this business and was amazed with not only the service but with the quality of the bus I rented. I was skeptical using this company because of some bad reviews and received cheaper quotes elsewhere but when I called in I spoke with the owner he told me I should come in and see the bus for myself, and see the condition it was in. He also suggested I go and view the buses of the ""cheaper"" competition. Boy was he right, some of these buses were in terrible condition, one place I visited three times to try and see the bus kept telling me the bus was in use, I later found out they didn't even have the bus I needed, something called a bait and switch! I am a non smoker and I just read the review where someone was upset a deposit was not returned because of a smoking incident on their bus. For a non-smoker, the odor of smoke does not leave, and when I was in the Designer Limousine Office finalizing payment and contract, I was told clearly their was no smoking on their units; That damage deposits were not refunded for this, people getting sick on the bus or physically damaging the bus. This Limo company is amazing and all their units are 2010 and 2011 units, that are in amazing, clean and not smelling condition....Designer Limousines is a company I'll be using over and over again for my events. more

WORST LIMO SERVICE! DO NOT USE! 5/19/2011

I rented out a 50 passenger party bus. First i was told $2100 for 5 hours. The next day i was told that the price had been raised to $2600. I agreed with the price and SIGNED THE CONTRACT WITH THEM FOR THAT PRICE. Three days after I drove 20 minutes to drop off a deposit of $500, I received another call from Designer Limousines and I was told that I would have to put down another $3500 as a damage deposit. However this charge was NOT on the contract I had signed 3 days before. I told the receptionist, Joey, that I didn't know I had to put down a damage deposit because it wasn't on the contract that I had signed. So I told her that I wanted to cancel my reservation and get my deposit back. I was then rudely answered and told that all deposits are final even though I was never told about a damage deposit. I then compromised with Joey to let me put down a $400 damage deposit instead. I had to put it down out of my own pocket because I had already told the people that would be on the bus 2 different prices. When I gave the money to the driver, me and him walked through the bus and I pointed out a couple of flaws on the bus to make him aware of them so I wouldn't be charged for it at the end of the night. During the ride someone lit a cigarette but the driver told them not to smoke on the bus and that he would pull over for them to get out and smoke, so the person immediately put it out. Throughout the night, nothing got damaged on the bus. After the party, the driver checked and made sure that nothing was damaged before he left and I was also told nothing was broken from the receptionist when I had called the next day to check up on my damage deposit. However, because someone lit a cigarette my $400 damage deposit cannot be refunded... Not another cigarette was lit after the first incident, but apparently it takes $400 to get rid of the faint smell of cigarette. Every time I would call to talk to Joey, the receptionist i had planned the bus with, I was put on hold for at least 10 minutes until I would hang up and call again... I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CHARGED EXTRA FOR DAMAGES THAT DID NOT OCCUR! more

Do NOT use this company! 4/18/2011

I rented a 50 passenger party bus to celebrate a birthday, and much to my dismay, the ipod dock in the bus did not work. I had specifically asked about this feature at the time of my booking, given that the whole point of a party bus assumes that you will be able to ""party"" on the bus to the music of your choosing. The driver was unable to get the dock to work, even after trying 2 different ipods, so we were forced to resort to turning the dial between various radio stations to provide music on the bus. more
