Horrific Service Experience in 5 Star Hotel 6/30/2009

It was a horrific experience to dine in Deluge within facility. My friends whom stay there thru out the week were commenting how great room service was great. Instead gone other much superb restaurant in Flushing, we choose to stay in and eat. The waitress that serves us on June 26 has absolute no manner at all. We had asked waiter to serve the teriyaki salmon because one of friend need to leave early. When our sirloin and ribs has been serve after the appetizer. The salmon still not been served. The waitress explains that Chef needs to unfrozen the fish from the morning (why it needs to unfrozen, if it is fresh.....) When fish has finally been serve, the waitress kept announcing that fish might not well cook. This is because we rush to have it out. My guests have begun her taste of fish and it was not cook in the center of fish. We have sent it back to kitchen and heat up. Pros: None - compare to price of the meal Cons: Service more

I can't believe this place exists in Queens! 8/14/2008

You're in downtown Flushing. You feel like you're in Hong Kong or Singapor. Then right in the middle of it all is this place! A beautiful hotel. A very beautiful restaurant. The food is amazing! Creative and good. ""Gourmet"" doesn't even go far enough to describe it. The decor is unbelievable. Soft lighting, fine Asian antiques, a waterfall flowing around a huge fireplace. A wine tower! I am a professional chef and I know what kind of work and creative thinking go into preparing and serving food like this and believe me, the executive chef deserves an award. Pros: The Food and the decore Cons: It's a Hidden away treasure more

Tapas (4 for $18), Ambiance and good service when not busy and underground valet parking 2/14/2008

Great tapas (4 for $18) for starters (try octopus, calamari, lamb and oysters). VERY busy on Valentine's Day 2008 w/NO reservation. Thanks to a very courteous Ortega the maitre d' boss man, wait was not too long. Ambiance helped pass the wait: a soothing waterfall, wine tower and a cozy fireplace snuggled in a deep leather chair with the missus. Best for romantic trysts w/wife or date. We had a 3-course Chinese New Year fixed price offering at a very reasonable and feng shui-approved $28.88. The main entree was so-so but we loved the sorbet with berries (raspberries shouldn't have been served -- badly spoiled, whichruined our otherwise good meal experience. Popular banana pudding ran out (sigh). Reservation a MUST. Validate stamp for underground garage valet parking as on-street parking tough in downtown Flushing. - A PLUS. Ambiance with the semi-private four booths with the pillows will spoil your female escort. Next time: may try the kitchen table to watch Chef Navarro at his creative best. Bring thick wallet or a thin valid credit card as it will cost especially the yummy Passion Fruit Mojito. Pros: Ortega - maitr d' boss man, Chef Navarro, romantic waterfall/fireplace, tapas, parking Cons: service overstreched on Valentine's Day 2008 more

Diamond in the rough 1/15/2008

ok i love eating out and this place is great. I live in queens and don't always want to go into manhattan and this simply trumps most of the restaurants i've ever been to in Queens... makes the trip into manhattan seem wasteful too. The servers are professional the food is great I love the variety of the tapas and theres also a bar on the main floor where I had the best bartender Kate attend to my every want with absolute professionalism Pros: parking, ambiance, value Cons: open roof sometimes lets in noise from the hotel itself more

Can't BELIEVE A PLACE LIKE THIS EXISTS IN QUEENS.... 10/21/2007

After searching for an amazing restaurant, with Manhatan style, decor, and ambiance in Queens, I must say that DELUGE has ceased my search. From the food presesntation, exceptional wine list, to the 5 star quality service and just the restaurant in itself is amazing! The decor has a nice earthy, warm, and soothing feel. There is a even a waterfall inside!\r \r Now the food, is just simply wow. Such a wide variety of dishes and as well a variety of cusines, from french to spain, to latin american its amazing. If you go you must try the 4 tapas style choice for ONLY $18!!! There are many choices to choose from.\r \r The lamb is amazing and for dessert, if you love choclate, you must try the choclate induldence, beware though because for only $10, its enough for 4 people!!\r \r All in all, I have found an amazing restaurant worth my search and wait. If you go and enjoy it as I did please spread the word of Deluge. Pros: DECOR, FOOD, AMBIANCE, INDOOR VALET PARKING, PRICE!!! Cons: NON more

Great Manhattan style dining in the heart of Flushing 6/27/2007

If this place were in Manhattan, it would be difficult to get reservations. Attentive service, great sophisticated food. Diverse, reasonably priced wine list. Every dish was superb. The steak could be cut with a butter knife; the lamb shank was a bargain at $18. The small plate assortment (4 for $18) is a fine way to sample the skills of the kitchen. Too bad I discovered this place while on a diet! Pros: Beautiful dining room with widly spaced tables, great service, delicious sophisticated food. Cons: Can it stay in business if nobody knows about it? more

Best food, valet parking which is very important in the downtown Flushing area. 6/11/2007

My husband and I and our best friends try all the new restaurants on weekends. This restaurant has now become our favorite, we go every other weekend. The staff , the warm feeling, Kate the bartendar, the food, just everything about this restaurant is great. We definitly love food and wine and this is the place to be. Pros: Great is not the word! Unbelievable!!! more

A wonderfully unique experience in downtown Flushing. 6/7/2007

Chef Navarro has created a wonderful menu, Ortega, the restaurants manager creates an atmosphere of caring service that makes you feel welcome. The food is inventive, fresh and excellent. The drinks, superb. This is a unique Queens restaurant that deserves your visit. The small plates offer a tasting oppty that sets you up for the full menu. Bravo to Chef Navarro, Ortega and the staff, Creating a unique dining experience in downtown Flushing! You have to experience the Chef's Table, a private room in the kitchen overlooking all that's going on. A unique fun & delightfully delicious experience. Highly recommended. Pros: Great room with a waterfall & fireplace, intimate, romantic Cons: none at this tasting more

A Manhattan Experience in Queens 5/28/2007

This restaurant is great. The atmosphere is beautiful, nicer than anywhere I have been in Queens, it really has a Manhattan style feel. The food was exceptional, and I have not seen a ""small plate"" concept before--it is a bit like Tapas--you can order a choice of four tiny plates, each plate is only 3 or so bites of food, but the end result is a meal with tons of variety for a reasonable price. The servers were attentive. I loved the ""waterfall"" style fountain. I would recommened this place to anyone looking for a very classy experience in Queens. more
