I have lived in many parts of the country both in property I owned and have rented. When I moved back to St. Louis in 2003, I had not thought about living in south city. I came to look at a property and was so taken with it that I rented it on the spot. That was more than 12 years ago. I'm still here and still so pleased that the DECA team manages this property. I have found them to be courteous, attentive, and helpful. If any problems come up, things get taken care of in a timely manner. I now renew my leases for 3 years at a time...I'm not going anywhere. more

I rented from Deca Realty for two years. I recently moved because I purchased a home. Deca was so professional and treated us with the most utmost respect. They cared about us and were quick to respond to maintenance issues and other concerns. I really appreciate good customer service because we rarely come by it these days. I just had the best experience finding a new apartment! I called Deca Realty and they took the time to go through several apartments that fit my criteria and set me up to view them the following day with an agent. The agent was very patient and knowledgeable and took time to answer all of my questions. I turned in an application after I chose an apartment and one week later I was moving into my new HOME. Thank you Deca Realty Co! more

By far the best property management company I have ever worked with. The people are first class and they go out of their way to satisfy everyone. Property management is a tough business but the folks at Deca always treat me with respect. They follow the rules and expect me to do so also, which is fair. All they ask is that I pay my rent on time, keep my place clean, and be a good neighbor. If you want honest people who are good to work with, rent from Deca Realty. more

I do not recommend Deca. Not only are their staff very snippy if you call them, they are not customer service friendly. I do like the house where I live, which I originally rented from a private landlord, then Deca took over the management, and I have been unhappy since. Their record keeping is poor. Specifically, my residency needed to be verified for a loan. Deca sent back information to the loan company that I owed a significant amount of money. I have all of my receipts to date, showing that I am not delinquent, yet this loan is being held up by poor accounting practices on the part of Deca. This is not a friendly company, nor one that cares about it's customers. As soon as I can, I will move to a place not managed by Deca. Beware. more

Horrible. I am a soon to be new tenant. I experienced an unexpected lost of a loved one. They were very unsympathetic and unwillining to work with me. The funeral arrangrments interfered with my move date. I was told I could not get the keys a few days early and if I did I would have to pay for each day I had the keys. I have never experienced this before. All of my previous landlords were more than willing to give me a grace period so that I can clean and move your things in. I work full time mon thru fri and explained that I can only move on the weekend no one cared. THE IRONY OF ALL OF THIS IS THAT NO ONE EXPLAINED THIS TO ME PRIOR TO GIVING THEM MY DEPOSIT. ALTHOUGH THEY WERE AWARE OF MY SITUATION. I would have never given a deposit if I had known they would pull this stunt. There are too many different people involed in this process and that is were the confusion comes in. Even Angela the property manager was NOT helpful nor sympathetic to the situation. I STRONGLY SUGGEST STICKING TO PRIVATE LANDLORDS. Deca realty has been a TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT. more

WARNING DO NOT RENT FROM DECA REALITY. my neighbor cut me with a box cutter. when I informed Jim owner about it he called me a liar. I told him HEHE is looking at the 6 months to a year for assault why is he still living here HEHE simply said because he did not believe me. HE BELIEVES him because he's lived here for 12 years. they have several complaints on this GUY. this guy has had a problem with every single person that has moved into this apartment in the last 12 years and because he does maintenance work on this apartment the landlord is taking his SIDE. I've WARNED them the first month that I moved in there was problems with him and they ignored it. this guy has DONE nothing but harass me bullied my 12 year OLD son. it does not matter that he does not believe the fact is it happened.. and he let him continue to live here. the police were called the guy served 11 days in jail. gotta bail reduction got out on bail looking at 6 months to a year. now the state is pressing charges. and he still does not believe so now there is in the ABATEMENT on this apartment. now I'm forced to move because I cannot continue to live here with my son WITH THIS CRAZY MAN. so I AM forced to move to get my son away from him. and they have the audacity to try to sue me for rent. that I have a long list of things that he has done. even threats on the phone that I better have good insurance. A WEEK LATER HE SHOOTING MY TRUCK with a pellet gun. HE denies it of course but it stopped when he went to jail for the 11 days. and don't even get me started about the maintenance around HERE. I told him of the problems and HE JUST SHAKES his head. and tells me the place is just OLD. just a big warning do not rent from DECA REALITY!!! more

I saw a house on Craigslist I was interested in viewing, so I called Decca and arranged an appointment. I was expecting an important call and missed a call so immediately called back. I asked, is this, ""so and so"" the lady on the other end got snappy with me and said this is Deca Realty. I said I received a call from this number just now so I'm calling back. I apologized for thinking it was someone else and she said rudely that I had called that number and she wanted to know what I wanted. I said that I had called that morning and spoke with someone to arrange an appointment to see a house. She was so rude and nasty that I stopped her and said that I will NOT be spoken to so rudely and that she had better watch her tone. She said I...""caught her off guard."" I told her I had things to do and hung up. She was sooo rude. I had already arranged an appointment so obviously they don't communicate because aI received ANOTHER call a couple hours later. Even after that bad incident on the phone I decided to still go and view the property. The agent NEVER SHOWED UP! Luckily, there were some men working inside who let me view the place. It was advertised as a 2 bedroom. TWO bedroom?!? One of the rooms was at the back of the house (think sunporch which was the size of a fricking mud room!) I kid you not! it was seriously probably 8x7. it was horrible. at the back of the house with the washer and dryer. the other room was upstairs! There were other houses that I was interested in viewing from Deca, but due to the FALSE advertising and HORRENDOUS services I will NEVER EVER rent from DECA! I feel sorry for anyone who may have got trapped into renting from them. more

DONT RENT FROM DECA REALTY!\r I have lived in one of deca realty buildings for going on 3yrs and every year they have raised my rent and the building I am is in need of many upgrades and repairs I have a neighbor that has been in the building for 6 or more years and their rent is still very low I have proof of this and their unit is the exact same as mine but yet they raise my rent every year I have been in their building DO NOT RENT FROM THEM THEY ARE VERY PREJUDICE AGAINST CERTAIN PEOPLE! more
