Good Service 9/30/2010

It really kills me to have to take my cars in for service since my brother-in-law is a mechanic and could run rings around anyone here in Jacksonville. Unfortunately, he lives in Canada and only comes around once a year. When I do need emergency service, I take my 328i to DBMW, as I don't need to compound my problems and expense by taking it to the BMW dealership, about whom I've heard many horror stories, to include one of my own (ruined wheels), but that's another story. DBMW has always been upfront (although sometimes expensive, according to my BIL). Couldn't be worse than the dealer, though. I try to limit the service to oil changes and minor work and have my BIL do the major work. So far no problems, but I wish my BIL lived closer :) more

I've been taking my cars to DBMW for 10 years now. The staff is friendly, Jim, Tony, Richie, Derek, and Doug are all great at what they do and will answer any question you have. You are always treated right and they are not going to do a lot of work that you don't need or charge you for it. Jim Driscoll has owned this business for 20 years in the same location, his customer base is loyal and growning because of the quality of his business. I'm always happy with the service I receive at DBMW - honest, straight-forward explanation of the work. Good news and bad news, they always give you a straight answer. Honest mechanics, excellent service, great value! 9/26/2009

I know that "Honest mechanic" seems like an oxymoron, but it is true in the case of DBMW. I have been getting my BMW serviced and repaired by them for the last 6 years, and I couldn't be happier. Having worked as a Customer Service Supervisor for years, I am very aware of what it takes to make a customer happy and loyal--the guys at DBMW do just that. They take care of the routine maintenance without coming back to tell you that you need six other things fixed or replaced. When a problem does occur, they are up-front about what they will do and what it will cost--and at far less than the dealer. They have kept my car running beautifully for the past six years, 156,000 miles and still going strong! Thank you Jim, Tony, Derek and others! This is THE place to go for quality, honest service on your BMW. Pros: Quality service, honest mechanics, great value Cons: NONE! more

I have been taking my 1989 BMW 325i to DBMW since I purchased it eleven years ago. I have over 180,000 miles and it is running like a champ because of Jim, Tony, Derek, Richie, and Doug. They are absolutely 100% honest and do great work. I can document many examples of honesty over the years but I will explain two of the most recent. My brake light went on. My boyfriend looked at my brakes and said I needed new pads. He insisted we take it to a brake shop where they looked at them and gave me an itemized list of what needed to be done. Their estimate was over $400.00. My boyfriend offered to pay for the services, however, it just didn't seem right so I declined the offer and said I would take it to DBMW. He was not pleased saying the offer to pay for the brakes was no longer and made several comments how I would be overcharged and taken advantage of since I am a girl. I replied they have always treated me fairly and were truthful in their diagnosis. I called DBMW of course worried and not wanting to drive but as usual, Jim, the owner, took me right away. Tony carefully and completely checked out everything and said it was merely something with the brake sensor, fixed it and I was on my merry way. It would have been easy for them to lie to me especially since my boyfriend and the brake place said I needed W does business. The same thing happened when I took my car for a wheel alignment (DBMW does not do alignments) whereas they gave me a list of things that they said needed to be done, again, a couple of hundred dollars worth of work. This time Derek did the exam and again, I did not need the work. There are two reasons why I only want to own a BMW. One is because I like the car and the other is because the only place I want to take my car is DBMW. Pros: Honest and Dependable Cons: none more

They fixed my car in a pretty short time, and way faster AND cheaper than the dealer. They told me exactly what was wrong with my car and fixed it for a price no other repair shop in jax could match. I had no problems with them, and they were very helping and nice. Thanks DBMW! more

Not an honest business 10/25/2008

I have taken my car to DBMW several times in the past because of a friend recommending it. Although the work they did was somewhat pricey at times, I knew they could be trusted because of the referral I received. This was up until the most recent time I took my car. My driver's side window was no longer working. DBMW fixed it a couple years ago for a reasonable price. When I took it this time and they looked at it, they said it was the motor and the switch that would costs $500. I thouight this was odd that they said it was the motor since I could still hear it running. Because of the age and mileage on my car, I decided not to have them fix it. Instead I asked if they could put the window in the up position at least. So they did. Didn't pay much attention to it. I was just glad rain could no longer come into my car. A couple weeks passed and I told a friend about the window. He took a look at it, put a little WD40 on it and it works like new!!! Now I can confirm it was not the motor or a switch. This business cannot be trusted. You can rest assure that I will no longer take my vehicle to DBMW or refer anyone else to. I am calling them next week to let them know what I think about this kind of dishonesty and hope that if you are reading this review you take your car elsewhere. more
