Rude staff and shouldnt be paid for what they do 1/15/2009

My experience was in Murfreesboro, TN. As far as selection goes the store has a huge selection if you want the same dress as everyone else in the state. I had appointments each time I visited but it seemed like I was wasting my consultants time. I was told during my first visit to view a catalog and pick the styles I liked. I guess I was only supposed to pick one or two dresses I liked because each time I asked for a dress from the catalog, I got a huff and puff from my consultant. I am sorry ""Whos wedding is it"" I thought to myself. My maid of honor had to place my dreeses back on the hanger and pull my dresses because my consultant just walked away after about 15 minutes of me disrupting her busy day. My second visit, which was with my mother to show her my selection, was with the same consultant and was exactly the same. She was lucky my mother was in a good mood or she would have had to be escorted out because the consultants attitude was much worse. We ordered my dress and ignored the rude employee. When returning to pick up my dress 5 weeks later, I got a chance to glance at my file laying on the counter. Your file contains your wedding colors, location, dress selection, and comments from the consultant. My file not only stated what my consultant thought about me, but she also said I was getting married in the middle of a cow field and went on to calling me names. Very professional! I could not believe she received a commision from my dress. I was never rude, even after I saw my file. If I could go back in time, I would have never went into Davids Bridal. No dress is worth being treated like that. Pros: huge selection Cons: Rude Rude Rude more

DAVID'S BRIDAL ONLY NICE TO AMERICAN CUSTOMER, STUCK UP, RUDE!!!!! 8/23/2007

I bought wedding gown and 5 bride's maid dress and mother of the bride dress there and all the accessories and shoes there. All of the girls including the manager that work at David's bridal on Hickory Hollow Pkwy are rude and stuck up and ONLY SERVICE THE AMERICAN CUSTOMER. I was trying on one of the dress in the fitting room and one of the girl that work there came in the fitting room and said loudly that is a TRAMP dress. I looked back to see who she was talking too. she acted like she didn't said any thing. I was very upset, I have talked to the manager about how rude they are and she didn't said any thing but ignoring me. Cons: NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL more

If you want to feel like you're at a cattle call... 4/16/2007

I wasn't expecting red carpet treatment at David's Bridal, but we did make an appointment for Saturday morning and our sales associate was okay-until her next appointment arrived. We did specify we would be picking out a wedding and 1 bridesmaid dress when I made the appointment. We thought maybe we were taking too long, but there were girls trying on dresses before I got in there, and they were there long after I was done- all had very friendly sales associates. I decided on my dress very quickly. MIRIAN may have had a bad morning- or she was upset she worked there. \r My sister is a very private person and did not want my mother knowing she was trying for a baby. While she was trying on dresses, she realized she might be pregnant. So, we asked MIRIAN on the sly what was the return policy and she said that we could return it for a maternity one- great. We said to her before we asked, our mom doesn't know she's trying, so, just don't bring it up if you could. My sister went out to pick out some shoes and overheard MIRIAN loudly complaining in the middle of the store that we were SO annoying and one of us is pregnant, but doesn't want the mother to know- it's just weird! Hey- at least wait until we're out of the store, MIRIAN.\r Another tip- DO NOT GET YOUR DRESS ALTERED AT DAVID'S BRIDAL! I have rows of ribbon on the bottom of my dress and when they altered it, the first row of ribbon is puckered, unlike the rest, AND is not straight-it is curved, unlike the other straight lines. Nothing I can do about it now- I can only hope no one notices, or does not show up in pictures. And I paid $120 for them to ruin it. The seemingly ""deal"" of David's Bridal does not make up for their cramped store, shoddy, unpleasant service, and poor attention to detail. They want you in and out in an hour, and apparently, take the same time to alter it! Pros: Cheap Dresses Cons: Cheap sales people, cheap work more

Bad experience 1/10/2007

I was apprehensive going into David's Bridal just from what else I had read here, but I still gave it a try. Overall, I would not recommend shopping here for a wedding dress. Their prices can easily compare to other better quality gowns. One dress I tried on didn't even have the pattern match up along the seams. The ladies were overall very helpful, but I got the impression that they hated their job. The dressing room was a very unpleasant experience. The sales lady was practically in the room with me, which was very uncomfortable. Everytime I came out of the room I felt like I was on her assembly line, walk to mirror, don't like it? Next one. And then when leaving we had no choice but to be stopped by the After Hours woman who gave us a 20 presentation on their offerings and we could lock in all the deals she had to offer only if we gave a $20 deposit. My friend fell for it, I didn't. When I got home, I saw in my David's Bridal gift bag that I was going to recieve all of the same After Hours offerings without the deposit (i.e. free groom's tux with groomsmen's rentals, invitation coupon, etc.) Try David's on your own, but be forewarned. more

If you have to get it from here, check back often. 6/11/2006

I ordered my dress almost 4 months before the wedding and they still didn't get it on time. They told me that they would call me when my dress arrived but I didn't hear a peep from them. I tried to call them repeatedly and they never picked up. Can you believe they don't even have an answering machine? My recommendation? Stay far far away from this store. more

Horrible Experience 5/10/2006

After trying to make an appointment for over a week (they didn't answer their phone or emails), I decided to show up at the store without an appointment. I was greeted and immediately asked if I had an appointment. I explained the situation. The sales lady was rude from then on. She would not let me browse the selection without and consultant, and I had to wait 30 minutes for the consultant to show up to work (late). After trying on about 10 unsuccessful dresses, the consultant just left me in the dressing room to help someone else. They did not have many dresses in stock and were trying to get me to purchase a dress that I did not like. I don't care if I had found my dream dress there or not...I would not purchase it from this place. Pros: various sizes to try Cons: rude, pushy, staff not helpful more

Disappointing 1/24/2006

These ladies are rude, pushy, impatient, and try to suck every last penny out of you. I ended up buying a wedding dress I wasn't happy with and decided to go back to the store to exchange it (they give you 3 months to do so). They treated me like I was mental for wanting to exchange my dress. Then they acted like they couldn't get me out of the store fast enough and basically ignored me AND the fact that I had an appointment. I had an appointment, but that didnt matter. The lady was too busy helping out another girl who hadn't bought a dress yet who had arrived AFTER I did. If you MUST go to David's or got stuck with them like I did, do yourself a favor and ask for Jennifer B. SHE will help you and won't be pushy and rude like the others. Pros: store hours are later, in house alterations, discounts Cons: dresses not to unique, rude sales people, commission-paid reps more

I Highly Recommend You STAY AWAY!! 2/9/2005

I went there to buy a flower girl dress (all of which were $130.00 no bargain at all). I was never helped by any sales associate. I was told the dress I picked wouldn't arrive until after my wedding and it wasn't readily available in that size at any other store. So I settled for another dress and bought it. The next day I found my 1st dress choice at their store in Des Moines. So I ordered it from that store. When I went back to cancel the first order I was told that I would have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for a corporate check, and then they tried to get me to spend the refund on anything and everything. Bottom line was they wanted the sale in their store and didn't bother to help me find the dress I really wanted. more

Stay Away!! 12/31/2002

This place is completely disorganized!! The shop lost my bridesmaids' information andf they had to come back. After two months of this, I finally was told they could not accomodate one of my larger bridesmaids' when I originally was told differently. I ended up having to go to another shop to order my dresses and barely got them in time. If you need more stress added to your wedding (and who in the world does?!), then go here. If not, avoid it like the plague!! more
