Horrible! Went there and Lilliana gave me a horrible cut, horrible hilights, and overcharged me. Prices I have never even paid at very high end salons! She made up the price to her liking. She was very unprofessional-the way she dressed, acted, and addressed me when I questioned the price. I would never go back, and cringe every time I drive by that place! YUK more

David has given me the best hair services I've ever gotten. David and his family have provided great service for many many years. I had gone to Details before it became DA then moved away for a while. After moving back to FL, however not to Brandon i find this site while looking for David's number. Some of the comments on this site are cruel and just not true. I never once received anything but quality from David Andrews services. Everywhere I went I had people asking me where I got my hair done. I sometimes sent two people a week there because my hair was so well done. Not one time since moving have I found anyone....ANY Salon that has been able to cut hair like David. Megan and Natalie did my color and I could'nt ask for better. If the business is now closed or if they...David and his family merged with another solon then maybe its because businesses are having difficult times in this ecomony. David and his family were always kind, caring and REAL unlike some of these clowns writing some of these comments. I would guess it's jealous competitors or ex-employees out there. At any rate, some people should be ashamed of yourselves! Not long ago this family lost their mother and no one knows what happens in others lives so spreading lies and nasty comments is unfair and mean. And accusing of drugs....well, I just bet you tell the future too, right? It's amazing the things that can be put out here for all to see that can destroy ones reputation. Times are hard and the economy is such that anything can happen. Sounds like some of the comments are true opinions and not everyone will be happy all the time, but some of these reviews sound like personal attacks from people have nothing to do but make up LIES and try to ruin someones reputation. And should David ever look at this rubbish, just know there are MANY of us that still love the way you and your family have done or do our hair and the way you have helped the Brandon community. David Andrew has re-branded themselves Details Salon. Buyer Beware! Never have called to tell me where their new location is and I was a customer there for over 5 years! Here today.......gone tomorrow. Good cuts once........crap cuts now. I will NEVER go back to that salon. Looking for a GOOD salon, try Bentley in Tampa - YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! I had a 9:00 appt today, I drove all the way from New Tampa for. I get there and there is an eviction notice on the front door. The place is cleaned out! I didn't even get a courtesy phone call to tell me they were out of busines? This place used to be so good - in recent years they have had several staff turnovers and things just fell apart. It doesn't seem that they had any type of recovery plan. You could tell David was struggling to keep the doors open. He used to have the team trained on cutting techniques, color, etc...all that seems to have fallen by the wayside. What stylists don't realize is that people can live with not so perfect color but a bad cut is not something that can be tolerated. The salons I visit always want to push the colorists, I always tell them that it doesn't matter how well it is colored, if it isn't cut right it will never look good. Was my first visit, I was terrible disappointed, The place was recommended by my neighbor, her hair always looks great. I got some one new Selena. Young girl while she does a good hair cut it wasn't for me. I am in my 50's she does younger folks styles. Any other good places in Brandon more

I'd been a customer for years with Natalie, who was a fabulous hair stylist. However, I recently received services from Selena and left disgusted. The color washed out of my hair the following night and with my roots showing I went in to see her to see how we may be able to fix it. She ran her fingers through my hair for ten minutes telling me she had warned me that this would happen. So, why would have spent over $100 for that???!!! I was insulted at her attempt to convince me we'd had a discussion that we in fact had not. In addition, I left with my hair smelling of terrible smoke that seemed to fill my car. My husband commented on the foul odor as soon as I got home that evening. I was completely disgusted. Needless to say I am shopping around for a new salon. Time is money, and I for one was very unhappy with my service in the salon. I had acrylic nails put on. During the service I felt as if i was a rag doll with all the pulling that went on. When the service was done i was cut and bleeding on four of my fingers. I was told that "that is the price we pay to look beautiful." While having a facial I inquired if my face should feel as though it was burning. The facial specialist quickly put a cool wet towel on my face and began wiping off the solution. I currently am seeing a dermatologist because of that particular facial. I did a little investigation into the good and the bad write ups on this page. Looks like someone from the inside is doing a little writing of their own using faults email accounts. DJCombs246 is the owners email address. (David J. Never had a better hair cut. Shop was clean and spacious but very busy. I was served coffee and snack while I waited. The wait time was less than 5 minutes. I would recommend this salon to anyone with confidence and know they would be satisfied with any of their services. Great place! Pros: Outstanding staff. Cons: No complaints. more

I have been here five times in 5 years. They move locations on a regular basis without warning and then act like I should have known! I keep going back hoping SOMETHING will be as it is advertised, now it's just triple the size, empty space, lacking business. Prices and service expectations are high but that is not what you get....you only get the high price for nothing special. The nail room is now like every other one in town-people too close to relax! My hair experience was terrible too. I had to wait 45 minutes for the girl to take me (yes I had an appointment), then she didn't even apologize for making me wait. This was my last visit, ever. Do yourself a favor, don't believe thier ad's, they are bogus. Pros: Big open space Cons: You're paying too much for too little more

I went to this place to get a cut & highlights. I was there for what seemed like forever only to look into a mirror and see the worst nightmare I've ever had. My hair was completely bleached, WHITE! I was so traumatized & in shock that I just paid (about $130.) & left. I was leaving for a vacation the next day so I figured I would take care of the problem first and then try to get my money back later. I went to another salon to try to get it fixed and they said it was so damaged they were afraid to touch it because it might fall out. I had to go to Walgreens to buy hair color to darken it and it did help a little but still looked cheaply dyed. I never did call back there to get reimbersed because the thought of calling them made me sick to my stomach, literally. DO NOT EVER GO THERE!!!!! Pros: none Cons: Lack of knowledge with hair more

It's true! People want my hair :) I've been going to David Andrew Hair and Spa for a few years and everytime I go out in public I have some one stop me and say..." I love your hair! Who does it??" The cut is perfect. I literally do nothing to my hair in the morning and it looks great! The staff are very knowledgable and I feel completely taken care of everytime I step inside :) I couldn't imagine going anywhere else in town and I would highly recommend this salon and spa to anyone who wants to be envied :) Pros: all Cons: none more

This was hands down the WORST salon experience of my life!! They DESTROYED my hair. DO NOT GO HERE!! My appointment took 5 hours for high/low lights and a trim. and no I am not exaggerating, over 5 hours! All of the colors were horrible and the trim was uneven. I went back 2 hours later to have them fix it b/c it was so bad. They attempted to fix the horrible color but they simply could not reverse the damage. So after spending 7 + hours & over $160 I am left with the worst color job of my life and no sure answer of how long, or how much it will take to get it back to what it looked like before these people messed it up. more

I saw this on the list of Citysearch's top ten for Tampa and had to get my opinion out there. Do NOT recommend. I went in the first time and asked for a simple half-head highlight and tiny trim (I was growing my hair out). The color was mediocre, the cut was horrible. She cut the sides of my hair so short that I had to go to another salon and get it fixed- resulting in inches of hair being chopped off, even though I told the original stylist I was growing it out. I also showed her where I part my hair on the side, and she cut it with a middle part, so that when I styled my hair to the side, it looked uneven. They do not listen, they do not care. I can't say it enough- do NOT GO HERE. Pros: none Cons: you name it more

Everyone there has such a friendly personality and its just a wonderful place to go and have a full treatment done. more

Love the black and white clothing mandate for the staff. The people are always nice and they don't drag out your appointment with long wait times. I don't even tell them what I want after just a few visits and simply sit back and get the job done. more
