I wanted more information on specific vehicles. Dave's Auto Service could improve their service if they started up better communication regarding different options.

Anytime I call Dave's Auto Service, they get me in right away. Once I'm there, they always explain what they're going to do to my car before they do it. I appreciate that they explain in a way I'll understand, without too many complicated technical terms. I also like that they always call me to get approval before doing any extra work. I've been happy for the 3 years I've been going to Dave's.\r more

I trust Dave. It's hard to find a mechanic you trust. We've been going to Dave's Auto Service for years, and we never feel like we're being cheated or anything like that. It seems like Dave is looking out for us and what we need at the time. Sometimes, we need work done but can't spend a whole lot of money. We end up coming back to Dave's and actually wanting to spend the money when we're able.\r more

An honest auto shop with kind, knowledgeable mechanics. 10/29/2013

I'm in the process of restoring an old classic. Dave's Auto Service is one of few places in town that knows how to work on those old cars. My experience so far has been very positive. He just got the car maybe a month ago. I've had this car since high school, so it's an ongoing project for myself. It's a '69 Chevelle. They're very kind and very courteous. They're willing to give you a ride back to where you need to go if you need to drop your car off for a length of time. I'm very pleased with that. I think these guys are honest people, and I can't say that about everyone I've dealt with. They give you a snapshot of what they intend to do and what the cost will be upfront. So there are no surprises at the tail end, which is also nice. more

I had a great experience with Dave's Auto Service. They were really knowledgeable on the situation. Everything was fixed pretty fast and it wasn't overpriced or expensive. They were fixing some cooling and heating stuff and some overheating problems I had in my car. They were very friendly and very knowledgeable. They're really nice, down-to-earth people. It's a great place to go for service. They actually do a pretty good job and get it done quickly. more

Great customer experience. I was in and out and on the road! 10/25/2013

I am not from Wisconsin, which is where Dave's Auto Service is located. I'm in Illinois. When I called and told them I had a broken belt, they got me in that day and were able to get me back on the road in under 24 hours. The customer service was great. They continually called me to keep me up-to-date with everything going on, so I would know when I would be on the road. I believed I talked to Ryan. Contact them first and get their quote first! They did amazing work. more

Great service! 10/23/2013

I had something going wrong with my car and I needed someone in the area to check it out and make sure it was safe to drive home. I live 60 miles outside of Madison, where I was. I found Dave's Auto Service and they checked it out for me and made sure I was safe to drive. They went over my vehicle very quickly and got me back on the road very fast. They were professional and courteous. I would recommend them. more

Responsive, caring auto repair garage. 10/22/2013

I had to drop off my car for the weekend and Dave's Auto Service had no problem dealing with it. They fixed the vehicle and did exactly what I wanted. They made sure everything was correct. They were doing an oil change and also fixing a part on the undercarriage of the car. I would recommend them. They were very prompt and friendly. more

Very good. 10/4/2013

Last time we visited Dave's Auto Service, we had to have an engine put in. They went and found us a good used engine with only 40,000 miles on it. We continue to use them since they seem to do a good job and I get good value for my money. They are knowledgeable, aren't afraid of questions, and are willing to explains things. more

A small and reliable shop. A great find! 10/3/2013

I moved to Madison about five or six years ago, and when I moved here, I wanted to find a reputable repair shop. Dave's Auto Service was a great find for me. The location is not the most desirable, but I prefer dealing with local businesses rather than big car dealerships. I like the fact that I can interact with the people on a one on one basis. Dave is a good mechanic and a good businessman. I take my car to him for any type of service. The entire staff is very helpful, and they all do a good job. If I experience any issues after a servicing, I can take it back to them, and they fix it again at no additional charge. If you're looking for a small, reliable shop, I would recommend these guys. more

I keep going back! 10/2/2013

I'm really pleased with Dave's Auto Service. They've always gotten my cars back to me when they've promised and overall I've been really happy with the work they've done. They've saved me when I've brought in a couple vehicles for pre-purchase inspection, which I really do appreciate. One time I brought a car in that I thought looked good, but they pointed out it was a death trap. I didn't buy it. I've been going there for five or six years. I only started because they're right in the neighborhood here, but I've always gone back. It just started out with something as trivial as oil changes and minor repairs. Overall I've been really happy with their service and professionalism. It also strikes me that they haven't sugar coated the really bad news I've gotten once in a while about vehicles. more

Dave's Auto Service does general maintenance and other work. They're very friendly and I feel like they're very honest. They work with you if you have a budget and prioritize things. They'll help you if you need to go out and get something covered under a warranty. more

Expensive! But everything other than that was fine. 9/10/2013

The work cost a lot at Dave's Auto Service. It was good, I just wish it hadn't been so dang much. They did a complete tune-up for my car and had it there for a while. I guess they did a lot of work, but I really didn't expect the price to be what it was. They were really nice other than that, though. I've gone back twice with another car already. They were quick, in and out, and very cordial. more
