Did fix the vehicle. Miss quoted me the charges. Ended up paying more than double the original quote. Was not offered any other options.

Honest and forthright. 4/4/2011

We have found Dave's Complete Auto Service to be very honest and very forthright. They are prompt with phone calls and have always completed everything in a timely manner. We have been using them for a long time, since around 2003, and we were recommended to them by my father. He had been using them for many years before that, and he wouldn't take his car anywhere else. Since using Dave's Complete Auto, we won't take our cars elsewhere either. We are very impressed. We have used the Centerville and the Layton locations. We have also talked to Dave directly and have always found him to be honest and forthright. I think that is the thing we like the most. We have never had to question what they say needs to happen to the car. The quality of their work is very good. We have never had to take a car back in to get it fixed again or adjusted. It is always done right the first time. more

Dave's Complete Auto Service is professional and knowledgeable. 4/1/2011

I get any maintenance I need done on my car done at Dave's Complete Auto Service. I know that I'll be treated good whenever I go there. I'm familiar with the quality of work done in the shop too, because I used to work there so I know what's expected of the workers. I tell everybody that if you have any domestic car, take it to Dave's, they're the best! more

Dave's Complete Auto Service never over-prescribe repairs-if a part needs to simply be repaired, they do it and don't waste your time or money on ordering a replacement part. 3/31/2011

Honestly, going to Dave's Complete Auto Service was the best experience I've ever had with a mechanic. Kerry is extremely knowledgeable about cars and the entire mechanics and computer systems of all vehicles really. He takes time to explain everything to you. He's more than happy to tell you the whys and hows if something needs to be done. I never felt like I was just a "dumb guy" who doesn't know anything about cars. Excellent quality. 3/23/2011

I have used Dave's Complete Auto Service about 5 times to do work on my car. They are fair, reasonable, and get the work done in a timely manner. The quality of their work is excellent. They do good work, and they do it right. D. Replaced my Timing Belt 1/3/2011

Last year I had to have my timing belt replaced. Dave's always has a special on them and so I took it to them. They got it replaced and I was good to go! Thanks! more

Impressed with their work 12/27/2010

My experience with Dave's auto has been very positive. At first I was a little hesitant to go ahead with recommended repairs, but was impressed with the thoroughness of their evaluation, their explanation of the problems found and expected costs of repairs. I felt that they deserved my repeat business for our auto needs. more

How marvelous to have repair service like Dave's in the area 11/30/2010

Dave has been very good. He used to take care of my old BMW, and now he takes care of my 12-year-old Acura. In fact, I am due to go back there to have my radiator serviced. They have been absolutely marvelous. They will take me home if I have to drop off my car, and they will actually pick me up when it is done. They bend over backwards, and the quality of the work is excellent. more

Tune Up 9/8/2010

I took my daughter to Dave's for her to get a tune-up done on her Honda Accord and put new brakes on too. I trust my own car to them and I wanted my daughter to see how easy it is to bring your car to them and a good job done. Now her car is ready for the commute over to BYU this fall. more

Great service - horrible markup on parts 8/5/2010

I worked with Kerry in Layton on a water pump/timing belt replacement for my Jetta. Kerry was great to work with, communicated well on everything, and did a great job on the repair. However, I was charged $195 for a water pump. I found the exact same Graf model online for less than $80. Although I expect some minimal markup on parts, Dave's is likely able to get it at less than online retail, so a markup of well over 100% is unacceptable. Timing belt tensioner was also marked up over 50%. I will likely not use Dave's again for work. more

Good Deal on my Inspection 7/30/2010

So, I got a totally good deal on my safety and inspection, with this coupon I found through KSL that lead me to Dave's website online. I printed it off, brought it to their shop and got my car inspected for $25 bucks, plus they did my renewal right there for free. I'm always looking for good deals, and this on it a good one. I'll be coming back to Dave's Complete Auto next year for sure! Pros: Great Coupon more

Great Location 7/24/2010

I love the location of Dave’s Complete Auto Service. I hate searching for these hole in the wall shops that I find in the directory. Dave’s is easy to find (with a bright palm tree in the front), right off the highway, a clean shop and a very nice looking shop. The service is good too! I would recommend Dave’s before you search for some of these places that you find in the phonebook , only to get lost or find a dirty old, two bay shop behind a grocery store. Fantastic Quaility 7/14/2010

My husband and I were in a small ""fender-bender"" recently in our 03' Chevy Cobalt. We were pretty upset to have our car damaged because we take such special care of all our vehicles, including this one. When we took it in to Dave's Complete Auto, we asked if they could make it look like new and they assured us they could. They didn't disappoint us - you couldn't even tell it had been hit and the paint blended in beautifully. They handled the insurance company for us and we were happy with their service. PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE 7/7/2010

I’ve been a customer of Dave’s for about a year and a half now and they haven’t ripped me off or deceived me in any of the repairs they’ve done to my 98 Sebring and I always get a quote without a problem. The rip off is some of these national and local chains (I won’t mention names) where I’ve gotten some outrageous repair quotes. I go into one to buy front tires and get an alignment and they tell me I need a brake job that’s going to cost $900 bucks. After getting the last quote of $130.00 to get a radiator hose put on ($30 hose and half hour labor), I quit checking with these places and decided to stick with Dave’s. I don’t know what this guy’s talking about, because I’ve never had any attitude problems with any one from Dave’s and I don’t expect any in the future. Pros: Good quotes, and great results more

Daves complete auto service 7/1/2010

my car would not start, they told me the chip in my key went bad and it needed a new key, this is a regular key, nothing special about it. I agreed and $440 later the new key works fine. But guess what, i tested the old key for the fun of it and it worked too. Every time i checked it. Why did i get a new key!?!? Im guessing it was a quick and easy fix like resetting the computer and they decided to throw in a key replacement to make some money. Dishonest mechanics, stay away from them! Pros: stay away!! I recently went to Dave’s Complete Auto Service, and I didn’t have one problem with the service I got. The owner Dave was honest, and knew what he was talking about. Very happy with major repair 6/21/2010

I had a major breakdown in Centerville. Since this was a thousand miles from my home in Santa Barbara, this was quite a worry. I did not know anyone locally but AAA suggested Daveâ??s who did a great job. Kerry in particular was helpful and 12 months later I am still very happy with the outcome. Thanks! more

They are awesome. 6/7/2010

I have taken 3 cars into Dave's Complete Auto Care, and they have done a great job on all of them. They have done major repairs for those vehicles. They are fair, they do the job quickly, and they don't try to up-sell. If there is a problem they will tell you about it, but then it is your decision whether to fix it or not. I would definitely recommend them, and I already have in the past. Dave's Complete Auto Care is great. more
