Dave & Buster's

Well my basic instinct, being a gentle person would say : They are a business and thats what they do ...but the point I want to make here is this:\r I took a group of preteen/teens to enjoy a day with my kids as I do often to GameWorks in Newport\r The kids thorougly enjoyed themselves but most of the parents gave the kids 15 to 25 to spend...ALL DAY. \r The price on the games alone was paid for by me...but at 16.00 a plate (HAMBURGERS/FRIES type food)plus drinks , most of the kids didnt have enough to even buy their lunch, so i was stuck with paying for their eats (WAY WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!) their games and snack food\r Now: Before you go off on me. ..I do this with kids all the time and this has never been a problem. To go out of the restaraunt you have to get in the car, drive quite a way and find a less expensive place , etc ...Basically, for a family run gaming and entertainment sector, they just too expensive for your average middle class family more

a) The games work on a confusing swipe-card system that basically prohibits you from knowing exactly how much you are spending per game which is very annoying and most likely expensive. b) Food service was terrible. After spending a large amount of money playing games with my little brother, we decided to order lunch and watch the football game on the TV. I sat at the bar close to the TV's and was ignored for approximately 10 minutes. Then a female employee rudely came and told me that I could not sit there because I am under the age of twenty-one. I can understand the policy but the way she rudely told me and my seven year old brother to leave was completely uncalled for. I then responded, telling her that we wished to order food and she told me that we would have to get a table. I then turned around to find 20+ tables covered in used plates, silverware, and cups. How can Dave and Busters expect to sell food or even look remotely respectful and clean when they cannot even bus their own tables? I took one lap around the bar and after finding every single table without a customer at it covered in dirty dishes, promptly told the rude bartender that I would take my business elsewhere because it was apparent that the Dave and Busters does not care about being sanitary or attracting customers, money, or positive reviews. In the end, I don't recommend taking your business there. The customer service is below satisfactory and while most employees were helpful, there were several who were rude enough to impact my visit in a negative way and leave a negative memory of the establishment in my mind. more

The last 3 times I've visited this establishment I had problems with my food order. Once the burger and fries were ice cold. Next I didn't receive the correct order. lastly, I ordered their bar burgers and when I pointed out that one of the buns didn't have any meat on it, the waitress couldn't understand why I was upset since the other 3 buns had meat on them. A manager got involved and stated that he was sorry that I was upset but didn't offer to resolve the problem. I guess they are so busy that they don't care if I stop spending my money at their establishment. (good for them) I do not patronize this establishment any more. I spend my money elsewhere. The food is over priced and not really that tasty. As far as I'm concerned you can get better food at better values at other area restaurants. I have been to Dave and Buster's on a few occasions. After my most recent visit however, I am certain that I will never return. The most accurate way to describe this establishment is as I have listed in the title ""Chuck E Cheese with a Bar."" Here is a brief overview of several noticeable annoyances and flaws with D&B's:\r \r 1.) It is an absolute cash-vacuum. Games are ridiculously short; most last only seconds. Food and drinks are over-priced as well ($8 for 5 chicken wings?!) \r \r 2.) If you go on a Friday or Saturday, be prepared to wait in long lines behind groups of over-zealous children as well as selfish adults who have had too much too drink. \r \r 3.) It is VERY uncomfortable. It is much too crowded, much too loud, and much too hot! \r \r 4.) In order to play any games, you must load a ""power card"" with money. However, there are SEVERAL activities for which you cannot use your power card (virtual golf, pool, shuffle board, etc.) This reminds me of ""Itchy and Scratchy Land"" in the Simpsons in which Homer buys ""Itchy and Scratchy fun money"" before entering the park only to discover that it is not accepted anywhere.\r \r 5.) The employees are rude. If you have any difficulty with your games, power card, etc. don't expect any help from the staff. \r \r This could go on and on... \r \r In closing, I will say this: If you are an adult who still lives with your parents, if you don't have a good education or a real job, if you prefer the company of video games to real people, and if you enjoy drinking simply to escape how pathetic your life is just for a little while, then Dave and Busters is the place for you. more
