I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone. She is very informative, sensitive, and all around cares about her patients and their families. She made having a baby feel like ...

Worst

I've been going to this group for a few years now, and after this last time, it will be my last. When you are in the waiting room, staff will come in and out, and no one says hell...

Rude staff 10/19/2011

I've been going to this group for a few years now, and after this last time, it will be my last. When you are in the waiting room, staff will come in and out, and no one says hello. The lady at the front desk was nice, though. Everything was finished, and now came time to fill my prescription. On october 6, I sent out a request. A week later when I get back from my vacation on the 13th, I notice it said ""doctor did not provide new prescription"". So I call the office and whatever nurse is on the line is very rude, calls me sweetie and says she already put the request in and she doesn't know how long it takes for it to show up. again, Ive done this many times before without a problem. So I try and go to my local pharmacy to fill the prescription because I had no medication. It, too is still in delay mode as of today the 19th. This is not normal and I hope someone from the office reads this and changes the way they do things. Its like theyre too busy now to care. they didnt use to be this way. Im sick of it and disgusted that they just. dont. care. more

Great with one major flaw 3/17/2010

I went to RWG all through my pregnancy, and overall I was pleased. When you're pregnant they get you right in to your appt. (Not so post-baby, when I wait about 45 mins each time.) I liked my doctors (Dr. Merritt and Dr. Collins). They were caring, professional, and experienced. However, one MAJOR FLAW I hear over and over again about RWG is that your doctor is missing in action when it's time to deliver. As a first timer this made me extremely nervous. What really irks me is that I specifically asked this question and was assured that yes, one of the doctors I'd been seeing for months would be my delivery doctor. Yeah right, after my last prenatal visit I never saw them again! If I had been told the truth, I would've probably switched to a practice that follows through. Pros: Great doctors and nurses Cons: Great doctors nowhere to be seen at delivery time more

Not happy 11/24/2009

I started seeing Dr Devin Garza in April of 2009, he was to deliver my daughter in November of 2009. He spent very little time getting to know me, didn't seem like he ever reviewed my charts before seeing me, prescribed medication that I was either allergic to or could not take while breastfeeding. He was nowhere to be found when I went into labor, and did not deliver my daughter. The only time I saw him was 36 hours after the delivery, and he poked his head in my room and said ""your good to go home"" without even examining me. I am very disappointed and I would not recommend his office to anyone. Pros: Clean office, sometimes friendly staff Cons: Horrible bedside manor, No time getting to know patients more

Do not use this clinic if you value your health! 7/24/2009

I had been a patient at RWG for about 3 years when I went in for a routine exam. I had been experiencing some symptoms of a urinary tract infection, so I decided to get it checked out. Every time you visit the office you have to fill out a form describing your current health and reason for the visit, so I listed ""possible UTI"" as one of the reasons. When I was taken back to the exam area the medical assistant told me that there had been an emergency that morning and that things around the office were ""a little crazy"". She looked at my form, asked me about my symptoms, and asked me to leave a urine sample. After leaving the sample, I went into the exam room and met with Wendy. While having my exam I discussed my ongoing endometriosis, which was of more serious concern to me at that time. As I was paying my bill at the front desk, I remembered that I had forgotten to ask Wendy when the office would get back to me about the urine test, so I asked the receptionist and she responded ""usually in a few days"". I went home, and over the next few days my symptoms began to worsen. Three days later I was experiencing aches, nausea, excruciating burning, and severe pain from the swollen bladder that was putting pressure on areas of endometriosis. That night, I called a nurse from another clinic because RWG does not have a 24-hour nurse line, and she advised me to call the clinic in the morning to ask if they had received the results of my test. I called the RWG nurse line at open of business the next day, and was informed that no urine test had been sent out. I had to drive back to the clinic (about 15 miles away from my home) to have another test. While at the office, I asked why my test had never been sent, and I was told that it was my responsibility to tell Wendy that my urine needed to be tested for a UTI, and that because no order had been sent, the sample was thrown away without testing. What does she mean I didn't tell them??? I wrote it on the form, talked to the medical assistant about it, and left a sample. It was my understanding that there is usually some type of communication between a practitioner and their staff. When I mentioned to Wendy that I had indicated on my intake form that I was having symptoms of a UTI, she told me that she is sometimes too busy to read the form. Oh my God! What if I had listed some symptom that I thought was benign but indicated a serious health problem? I'm so lucky I finally called the outside nurse and did not wind up in the hospital with a kidney infection. I went out and found a new gynecologist that day. Do not ever use this clinic! Pros: nice facility Cons: long wait times and incompetence more

Not attentive to serious women's health issues 9/16/2008

I have been a patient of the RWG for ~ 5 years and am finally switching to a new ob/gyn after a recent incident involving the nursing staff. My complaints for this group range from never being able to get in to see the doctor, the entire practice dropping all Blue Cross/Blue Shield patients without notice, then negotiating a last-minute deal with BCBS and picking us all back up again to dirty waiting rooms and rude receptionist staff. I have finally decided to find another doctor after giving this practice repeated ""2nd chances"" to improve. I suffer from a severe case of endometriosis - the leading cause of infertility among women, a disease that afflicts 1 out of 10 women in this country - a top ten women's health issue. As a result of my severe endometriosis, I recently endured over 8 hours of crippling menstrual cramps that had me screaming, crying and writhing on the floor in pain. When I was finally able to get out of bed (or off the floor), I placed a call to my ob/gyn asking if someone should check me out. I was first told to call back after 9 because the nurses won't take calls before that time. I was then told, by a nurse, to just ""come back in if it happens again."" I specifically told her that I'm an endometriosis patient - she said there was nothing they could do. This is an unacceptable answer from a physicians group, housed in a building dedicated to women's health. So the bottom line is - if you have no gynecologically complicated health issues - just need routine paps every year and don't care who you see - this office will probably work out fine for you, but if you truly need attentive women's care - look elsewhere. Pros: Building is nice. Cons: Non-physician staff don't care about women's health. more

not recommend to go to Renassiance women center 9/8/2008

the practice is very bad. I did annual examination at Renainssance Women Center, the nurse practinoner was not gentle on the bedside, it seems that she doesn't care about the patient at all. she performed the procedure quickly and never asked how you felt. I never saw spotting during or after pap smear. but for this time, I saw spotting during the procedure. i think it was caused by her pushing instrument so hard. another problem is they kept me waiting for almost 1 hr. the practice is horrible. Don' go to this center. more

Not a good experience. Pros: big practice Cons: rude more

No phone etiquette 2/26/2008

I wanted to make an appointment to confirm if i was pregnant. I'm new to Austin, just moved to San Antonio so the only way to look for new doctors is to check on our insurance and the distance from where we live. I read some good reviews about this place so i figured i would call. Well, after my experience, i don't think i will set foot at this office.\r \r First of all, they have an automated phone system (which i hate, i want to talk to a live person). I didn't know which doctor (they have about six or so) to get so i just picked one. I wish i would've talked to a live person to ask them questions about the doctors and who was available. I waited almost 10 min to talk to someone but that someone never answered and it went straight to the answering machine. So i redialed again and finally after 5 min, actually spoke to someone. The receptionist wanted me to talk to a nurse first before making the appointment. The nurse was rude and made me feel stupid. Then she wouldn't make an appointment until i took two more home pregnancy test. What? I want a doctor to confirm that i am pregnant! Not another home pregnancy test! I never had so much trouble making appointments before in my life!\r \r I don't think i will call them again. more

Best OB GYN In Austin 1/12/2007

I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone. She is very informative, sensitive, and all around cares about her patients and their families. She made having a baby feel like winning the super bowl!!!! I couldn't have asked for a more energetic cheerleader, and passionate doctor. I can't thank her enough. Please consider her for any of your OB GYN needs. Pros: Excellant Staff that is very knowledgeable about your needs more

Unsympathetic 12/12/2006

My experience at this office was very disappointing. First, I was told I would not be able to meet with Dr Neyman for about a month and a half, so I agreed to make an appointment with an assistant. I was called by the office to reschedule due to some error they had made and agreed to a different date. I arrived at my appointment ten minutes late after having walked all over the expanse of that vast complex trying to find the correct suite. They turned me away saying that I was required to be there 15 minutes early. I would have been fine with this if when I made my initial appointment and had been asked if I had been to that office before, someone had bothered to mention that I needed to be there 15 minutes early and possibly given me some hint as to where I should try to look for their suite. It was all a complete waste of my time and I felt incredibly disrespected. I would have appriciated some sympathy. Pros: unsure Cons: not centraly located, unflexible, busy, unorganized scheduling more

Best doctor I see 9/26/2006

I actually see one of her nurse practitioners, Anna, most of the time. I wouldn't go to anyone else for anything. They're always on time, if you get there on time. They're the best! Pros: Great bedside manner Cons: Parking more

Pregnancy 3/25/2006

When I got pregnant with my first child this is where I first came. I was really pleased with the services that I received from here. I was seen on time for my appointments, and when I had to cancel and appointment they were able to reschedule me in soon. The facilities were clean and cheerful, with magazines to read in the waiting rooms. My doctor was very helpful in preparing me for being a mom. I was given some prenatal vitamins and ton's of information to take home to read. I ended up not staying with their service because I wanted to have a natural home birth, but I still highly recommend their services. They were nice, informative, and very througough. more

Pros: Caring, Good Hours, Personable more

Didn't respect birth plan 1/19/2006

She took her sweet time when I ready to give birth and then gave me an episiotomy when I specifically told her I didn't want one. more

New location, great group of doctors 5/25/2005

Renaissance Womens Group is located adjacent to the North Austin Medical Center. Each of the obstetricians practices independently with shared call coverage. They have a radiologist on staff as well as a full ultrasound department. There is a lab in the same building. Basically, it's all the care you need in one convenient location! We worked with Dr. Litzinger for our pregnancy and she was present at our delivery. She seemed to respect that we already had children and knew what we wanted and what we were doing. She immediately made us feel comfortable and when there were problems at the delivery, she worked with us to prevent a c-section. Appointments were easy to schedule and the waits were short. Dr. Litzinger has two nurse practitioners to help with the patient load and the care of uniformly fantastic. PROS: Doctors, nurses, location, everything! CONS: None more
