Editorial review from Citysearch 10/9/2012

I was a customer of his for a few months back in January until I met the real Dan that came out. He worked on my BMW a couple of times, I found him online, he was actually the closest alignment shop around so I figure what the hell, give it a shot. His prices are on the higher side, he says because he does good work and you pay for what you get. That I understand. He did the alignment on the car, seemed ok for about a few weeks then had to take it back in for a recheck which he does. I decided to bring my wifes car in and he did some work on that, long story short we started talking about prices, I said something like that doesn't seem right etc. He told me this is his shop, thats how he does it, and if you don't like it you can leave. He started raising his voice, threw a couple of his tools on the floor, I definitely felt unsafe around this guy. He yelled at me and told me to leave and shut his door on me. The guy lures you in being nice at first then guy changes 180 degrees, if I am not mistaken he may even bi-polar. Just letting new customers beware, custer service? What customer service? more

Terrific Service 4/18/2010

I am writing to counter the negative review ""Mentally Unstable"" written. Dan has worked on my 64 Olds 88 and my truck and has been nothing but friendly and fair. When you talk to Dan and find out what really happened with the review above, you understand who the unstable person really is and it ain't Dan. I'll even put my email here for anyone wants more of a reference. I'd hate to see someone dissuaded from using Dan's shop because of an unfair review. Support local shops. verytallmichael@gmail more

An Honest Mechanic you can Trust 3/23/2010

About a year ago, I was given an estimated to align SUV that exceed $1,000 and was told my vehicle was unsafe to drive. I took the vehicle to Dan for a second estimate and the alignment cost me less than $100. Since that time, I have been taking my vehicles to Dan for all repair services. On several occasions he has either done some minor work at no charge (such as installing a new battery for just the cost of battery) or redirecting the service request to something more cost effective.\r \r The key to a good mechanic is finding someone that does quality work that you can trust do what is needed and not just drive up the bill. I have found the mechanic in Dan. \r more

Good Mechanic 11/25/2009

I had Dan do some work on my mustang and he knows what he is doing. The work he did on my car was exceptional and I would go back the next time I need an alignment on any one of my cars Pros: honest and reliable, knows what he is doing more

Great Mechanic 10/25/2009

I had several good experiences at Dan's alignment center. If you are looking for an honest, and reliable mechanic, Dan is your man. He is professional in his appearance and demeanor. This guy has integrity. Pros: Honest ! and reliable. Cons: Did not see any drawbacks. more

Mentally unstable 7/16/2009

I have had a bad experience with this guy - he has a violent temper and I would advice others to stay away from him & his shop. He overcharges 3-4 times over the amount of time the work actually takes. He also avoids having to provide receipts so that the income is not on record. For the past several months, I have been a regular customer and he did decent work on my car. The last job that he did on my car - replacing the rear coil springs, he initially told me it would take 5-10 minutes to replace each coil spring but charged me for 1.5 hours for what took him less than 30 minutes to do (with me actually giving him a hand and getting cut in my arm in the process). I asked him why he was charging me that much and that I didn't think that was a fair price to charge and he just lost it - yelling at me, threatening to keep my car if I didn't agree to that amount, and throwing things around the shop. I paid him and asked for a receipt but he refused. I kept calm the whole time but it was a threatening experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. I'm not sure if this is his normal personality or maybe it's the stress he's facing since he's going thru bankruptcy and the prospect of losing the shop since business has been very slow (I wonder why). And maybe the reason he overcharges is to try to make up the difference between the business he's lost and his last lingering customers. I have filed a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair for him not providing me with receipts of his work and he is currently under investigation. Whatever the case is, his situation does not make for a good environment to do business - find another mechanic/shop that has good customer service and is financially (and mentally) stable. Cons: Mentally unstable, doesn't provide receipts more
