Great Celebrations! 2/19/2010

Daniel’s is a very versatile location for everything from date night, to celebrating a special event. The dining room with its amazing views of Lake Union is the perfect setting for a celebratory dinner – birthdays, anniversaries, holiday gatherings. Food is cooked to perfection, and then served by experienced, attentive waitstaff who stand tableside while you cut into your meat and make sure it is cooked to your liking. Their specialty is steak and you will see why when you taste the wonderfully tender, flavorful New York, heavenly with the addition of the peppercorn brandy sauce. The lamb is melt-in-your-mouth amazing and seafood is fresh and delicious.\r \r The bar is a great choice for a date. Get cozy and pull up a comfy overstuffed chair by the fireplace. There is an early as well as a late happy hour, seven nights a week, where you can enjoy half price appetizers, and great deals on beer, wine and martinis. Try the steak strips, popcorn shrimp, and depending on how things are going, the oysters on the half shell. Live entertainment in the piano bar is offered on certain nights for even more ambience.\r \r For your very special occasion Daniel’s also has elegant private dining rooms on the lower level with their own private outside deck. Or just hold an afternoon soiree in the piano bar. The catering staff is amazing with a range of budgets!\r more

The best place for a special occasion 1/9/2009

Our first visit to Daniel?s was for a birthday celebration (a party of two on a Thursday night). The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. We were seated at a both that had a nice view of Seattle's waterfront and city lights. The entrees were perfectly timed/spaced. We had read the reviews and were prepared to look for free public parking, high-end prices and not to expect birthday cake. Our dinners (filet mignon, lobster, New York steak...) were cooked perfectly. The lights were nice and dim, and to our surprise the waiter used a small flashlight to ensure that our steaks were cooked to our liking. We got another very pleasant surprise at the end our meals - we received a nicely presented chocolate mousse cake with white chocolate flakes and a lighted candle, the waiter even sung along to Happy Birthday with me - how sweet:) The atmosphere was cozy ? you could hear the live piano music and the bar-life in the background. Overall, we would go to Daniel's again for any special occasion. Our waiter, Thomas, really made the evening special. Pros: Service, view, location, menu choices, ambience Cons: Charge for parking more

Wow - $171.00 for this? 11/23/2007

My husband & I went here for Thanksgiving dinner and I have to say the food wasn't even mediocre. The service was great - we had a fantastic bottle of wine, and they accomodated our request for a table with a view, but the food wasn't even as good as we could have gotten at Marie Callendars and cost 2.5 times as much. My turkey was dry and lukewarm and my husband's prime rib came out cold and cooked medium (bordering on well done) when he had asked for it medium rare. He returned it and got back the same piece now hot, but completely overdone. The 'creme brulee' for dessert was a thick eggy custard; at least the pumpkin pie was palatable. Neither one of us ate our whole meal, nor did we bother to take anything home (very, very unlike us). Luckily we had a gift certificate because if we had actually paid for that food, I probably would have cried. I'm really surprised by how unappetizing that meal was - it wasn't like the place was packed with people (there were a few empty tables that i could see) and the food wasn't anything unusual. All we wanted was a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to make up for being far from family, but instead we got good wine and good service but horrible food. I will definitely not eat there again - especially at those prices. Pros: Great Service - Fantastic view Cons: Food is terrible more

The best joke ever...Avoid on ALL days! 5/6/2007

To begin with,Daniel?s Broiler is NOT a top-notch steakhouse at all, especially not in Seattle;the Metropolitan Grill has the best steak in town.Anyway,my first and final visit to Daniel?s Broiler was last night;my girlfriend and I were celebrating our birthdays so we invited ten of our closest friends for a dinner.I was disappointed immediately after arriving at Daniel?s Broiler with their valet parking employees and rules;I had a better customer service in Les Schwab a day before.I was mad when I was told that I have to pay $5 for parking or to go somewhere else and park my car myself.I was embarrassed that my friends will have to go through the same regime so I had to organize parking for everyone before they arrive,I paid for each car.The second disappointment was our small table; there were 12 of us sitting at the table for six.It was hard to move and impossible to fit all plates, glasses, and vine bottles at the same time. The food quality is average,I had a better steak from Costco, and for this reason prices are absolutely ridicules, too high for nothing.Atmosphere was fine except for the air-conditioner blowing ice-cold air directly at our heads,I wish I had my hat for skiing last night;everyone was freezing, after complaining to our food server the air-conditioner stopped for a moment. Our food server was nice but semi-professional and the biggest disappointment came from him at the end of our dinner. At some point he asked me what is the occasion and I told him that we are celebrating our birthdays.Through my experience from previous birthday parties at Hilton and Four Seasons I was expecting that he will come back with a small cake or bottle of wine on house, and this felt really nice, but the best joke ever was that he brought as two little empty plates with small candles burning in the center. For a moment a felt so embarrassed and everyone was stunned, but then I started to ironically laugh to break the silence. Wow...that was so creative - thank you. Pros: Live piano music Cons: parking, food, ambience, too cold. more

One of the Best Steakhouses in Seattle 11/18/2006

I've been to Daniel's Broiler a few times and I've never been disappointed. My mom and I enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner in 2005 at Daniel's and were thrilled with our meals. They offer the traditional turkey with all the fixings but we opted for the Prime Rib. It was to die for! They also have delicious surf and turf entrees that I wish didn't hurt the wallet so much! This place is great for business dinners. Pros: Fine dining at its best Cons: Expensive more

Best Service 10/25/2006

Ok. So I have my own ""Best of Seattle""list. And this place gets my vote for offering the best service. I've enjoyed dining at each of the Daniel's locations ,which have their own individual style of comfortable atmosphere. The menu offers plenty of choices and will please even the most discerning tastes. (I must recomment the Lobster Bisque! )The entire staff at any of the Daniel's Broilers are friendly, helpful and they'll even remember your favorite table. Pros: Service Cons: zero more

Best Steakhouse 9/24/2006

Hands down the best steakhouse in Seattle. It is better than El Gaucho, Metropolitan Grill and The Brooklyn. For those that don't want steak, there have the wonderful crab cakes. The lobster bisque is excellent. Desserts are also amazing!! The Valrohna chocolate cake is superb!!!\r You will never be disappointed here. Pros: Excellent service Cons: Expensive and reservations are a must more

Good is sooo good! Our Anniversary Spot. 9/21/2006

Our favorite spot to go for every anniversary or any other special occasion. Their steaks are PERFECT, If you love meat this is the place to go. Their view is gorgeous also if you get a window spot and my absolute favorite is when we get to catch the live pianist. Service is usually spectacular and for me, it's a very romantic place. :) Definitely recommend for a special occasion or if you feel like splurging a little. Oscar style is the best! Pros: Yummy, worth every penny. Cons: I don't know. more
