Best

My husband and I took my children to the Comedy Club in 2009. They had never been to a comedy club and had a BLAST! Service was very good and the comedians kept me laughing the ...

Worst

We bought tickets from a man in Times Square for $20.00 each. He told us that with this deal we would NOT have to buy any drinks, and that it would be fine for the 13 year old ....

Go for the Show 10/18/2002

Go for the show. The food is ok but not worth the price. We went on a Thurday night and the comedians were all funny. Pros: funny comedians Cons: one waiter, not so great food more

Stay Away. 9/25/2002

One of the worst comedy clubs I have ever been too. Not only were 3 out of the 5 comedian NOT funny, but the prices were outrageous. 9.50 for a bacardi w/ coke and 4.50 for a regular coke? PLEASE. On top of that, they charged tax and gratuity. I have to pay a 15% Gratuity for bad jokes and 2 drinks? Let me also mention that our waiter and host were very rude. Also, is it me or is Rodney and his staff writing their own reviews and giving them all 10s? You are better off going somewhere else. more

Why Dangerfield "Gets No Respect". 9/22/2002

I am very disappointed. My friend made reservations for 8 people. We were waiting for one of the couples and decided to go get seats. We were told that we could not be seated if someone was missing. When the couple we were waiting for finally arrived, we got on line only to have three women who said that their party was already inside cut infront of us. After we were seated in a tight corner, we were served drinks. Three out of Five of the comedians were pretty funny, so I have to be fair and add that. When we got our bill, we realized that a 15% gratuity was added to the bill. All the waiter, who was rude and told us that we could not speak to the manager, did was bring us drinks that a bartender prepared. Did I mention how disappointed I am? more

2 drink + bad jokes = $59 9/6/2002

some of the comics were ok, the rest sucked. One guy even started hurling insults @ the people. Wanted to screw one guys girl, called some other guy 'the mexican in the back' some people even got up an walked out. The club is a dump, everthing was old and stick and the drinks were made of the cheapest liqour on earth. Ohh..the show topper....the BILL.....Folks remember this...1 Coke + 1 Tang/tonic + House gratuity (20%+) = $59.00. Yep! For two hours of mediocore fun. I wish they had a negative rating on here..... Pros: location Cons: expensive, low quality, poor service more

What A Show!!!! 6/23/2002

This is our fifth time to Dangerfields, and we are never dissapointed. The show is always fresh, and they have the funniest comics in town. We will be back again. more

Very Funny 6/23/2002

We had a terrific time this weekend at Dangerfields! The show was hilarious!!!! I haven't laughed that hard in quite some time. It is definately worth seeing a show. I will be back. Thank You Rodney!! Pros: Funny Comedians more

GERIATRIC GARDEN OF EDEN! 6/13/2002

It's rather curious that the reviews for Dangerfield's are so cheery and bright. The club is tired, delapidated and needs to be cleaned up. The comics I saw were so-so and it's a truly dingy old club. Not that there isn't a place for the moldy oldies....I'd rather be in cleaner, upscale surroundings. Years ago the club had some snap but it needs Geritol now. more

Great show 5/22/2002

We were there this past weekend. 5 comics...all very, very funny. Club itself is a bit on the dated side, and drinks are very expensive ($4.50 for a coke, $12 for an irish coffee), but the show was great. We laughed so hard, we were crying. more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Co-founded by legendary comic Rodney Dangerfield (hence the name), this stand-up room has been in business at the same location since 1969--a rare feat for a comedy venue. Though you won't see the club's namesake around very often, Dangerfield's rare policy of no drink/food minimum makes this comedy destination one of your better bets in terms of yuks for your bucks.

    The Draw
The weekly bill of performers always features a national headliner as seen on "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show," some Comedy Central progam or even one of Dangerfield's own HBO specials (which incidentally are taped at the club). But if your looking for real laughs, don't just show up for the recognizable names. The real talent here is found in house regulars like Nancy Redman, Richie Byrne and Billy Burr.
