Damico Paving & Seal Coating

We had them remove an old asphalt driveway and replace it with a new asphalt driveway in Nov. 2015. It looked great but by April 2016, 4 months after our new asphalt driveway was installed by Damico Paving it developed ""ruts"" where our cars drive and are parked. We also have some sunken areas by the garage where water collects when it rains. We contacted them by mail and by phone. When they finally contacted us we were told they wanted to patch the new driveway. We contacted other driveway contractors that felt the problem was either that the material was improperly installed or that improper materials were used . These same driveway contractors stated a new driveway should not have to be patched. In June of this year a 10 foot box truck parked in our driveway for 45 min. and when it left there were 1 inch impressions where it had parked. We tried to contact the owner* ******* ******, but his employees would not oblige us.\r \r Desired Settlement: We would either want the driveway replaced or our money refunded as it looks like we will have to have the driveway replaced in the near future. Patching a 4 month old asphalt driveway is not acceptable. more

I hate writing bad reviews because they can really impact a business badly, but in this case I feel I have to. I contacted Damico to bid on seal coating over 20 (possibly as many as 40) driveways in our subdivision. They submitted proposal that won them the bid. In their proposal they made statements that they did not live up to and they are not willing to remedy the situation. \r \r The first issue was that the proposal stated that they would "Apply one heavy coat of commercial coal tar sealer with heavy mix of slip resistant aggregate." \r \r When questioned about this afterwards since no one could see anything resembling a "heavy mix of slip resistant aggregate", their response was they use a "fine sand" and if you run your hand over the driveway you would be able to feel it. Sorry, but that is and was the texture of he driveway, not a new " heavy mix of slip resistant aggregate".\r \r The second issue was that they stated "Because most driveways have many cracks we recommend no crack fi more

Contrary what has been said, I have found Damico Paving to be reliable and a good service provider. This is based on seven consequitive years of having them do the initial driveway paving and sealing thereafter every single year and counting. The only negative thing I have to say relates to the answering servicio where the lady deliberately refuses to identify herself as the ""answering servicio."" Mind you seven years and no change. After talking to her for a few minutos, she says, oh, this is the answering servicio. Why not say it up front so that people don't waste their precious time?\r \r Salue from NJmike! more

I received a call the same morning from a man who had clearly listened to my message because he had already looked at his calendar and had some date suggestions for providing an estimate, based on the message I left with my availability. When he called back, he was cheerful and patiently answered all my questions (since I had never had a driveway replaced before). He also quickly set my expectations, explaining that with the truckers currently on strike, it may be a few days before he could complete the job. The estimate was at my door within 48 hours! I had several estimates, but I chose Damico because of the fast response and the details in the estimate. They even included a page of tips to remember when getting your driveway replaced.... and they were not all slanted to Damico. Very nice. They did a great job. They arrived as scheduled and when I got home from work that night, the work had been accomplished and the worksite was clean and neat. They had even ground down part of my cement curb which now gives me a very smooth turn into my garage. No dug up lawn, no tire treads across my lawn, very clean and neat. more

I called Damico paving for an estimate on my driveway. I spoke with Brad, He came out the next day and handed me an estimate on the spot. I called Brad after I got approval from Will County on my project. Will county stated DAMICO paving needs to come and get the permit. I called Brad. He stated it is my duty to get the permit. So I called will county and they stated it is the contractors duty to set up the permit and show his bond. So I called Brad and explained the situation. Now 1 month later still has not returned any calls. Guess these guy's are not licensed or bonded. I do not recomend and have hired a repituable contractor for my project. more

I have been extremely happy with the quality, and recommend them to family & friends when I am asked for a referral. One year they had just sealed, and a neighbors dog ran across my drive leaving footprints. Even though it was not their fault, they came back by and touched up my drive at no charge. I was having problems with OTHER sealcoating companys. I wanted someone who would notify me that they were coming, and instead, I would have guys at my driveway, ready to seal. Not with Damico Paving. They called me the day before they came out, which gave me much time to move things off my driveway. Not only did they take their time, but the guys made conversation with me as well. I will always use Damico Paving for all of my driveway needs! Make sure you use this company, and remember....If you don't get a call the day before, It is NOT the right company and I would highly recommend refusing their services! A company that won't call before they come has BAD NEWS written all over them! more

We were concerned from the start when Damico Paving showed up last fall in the dark to pave our driveway. We were told they do it all the time so we just had to deal with it. Not certain how they saw anything they were doing. Cons: It's never their fault more

Not certain how they saw anything they were doing.\r \r Well needless to say they didn't see everything and our asphalt was laid higher than our garage floor. The winter proved a terrible experience with ice constantly forming under our garage door and our new garage floor is now chipping because of it.\r \r Luckily Damico sent their arrogant salesman Rob back out to explain to us how it is never their fault and we just don't understand asphalt and probably life had I let him stay long enough. Hopefully our neighborhood will use other paving companies this season and beyond. Cons: It's never their fault more

I hired Damico Paving last year to do my 87 year old grandfathers driveway. I realized that my granfathers driveway had become very unsafe and at his old age did not want to take chances on him falling down and needing yet another hip replacement. As my granfathers power of attorney I felt it was my responsibilty to check out pricing, companies and all other details of paving, seal coating ect... I called 3 companies and gathered all my bids. I decided to use Damico Paving located in St.Charles because they were the most helpful and educated me on the paving process. I also explained to them my situation and that I was working with a limited amount of money. They were VERY fair and treated both me and my grandfather with respect. Since then, I have refered my clients, friends and additional family members to Damico Paving and I will continue to do so.
