It has been three days since my first visit to The Daily Grind and I have yet to let go of the horrible experience. For a person that is open minded and rarely complains, my experience is not embellished one bit. Ordering at the counter was hardly pleasant but I should have known there was something seriously wrong by the look of fear in the eyes of the person taking our order. Looking back, it was obvious that the restaurant could not handle more than probably ten couples - we were most likely #15. There were no tables to sit at even though we had already ordered our food. The people piling in were rustling for tables like it was a gold rush all over again, trying to stake their claim. This was most troubling as those that had already ordered had no place to sit while a single person in line was waiting to order for their entire party that was saving a table or two. Being there with my older parents, this was not only rude but inconsiderate to everyone waiting. There was no coffee as they had run out, and when they tried to make more, someone forgot to take off the lid and subsequently coffee ran everywhere. There was no cream, no syrup for waffles, no ice, and no napkins. I witnessed the owner or a friend of the owner arguing with a waiter about running out of glasses. I felt so sorry for the waiters and bus boys as several patrons looked like they were going to form a lynch mob and hang them for the restaurant's inadequacy. Each of the waiters and bus boys (only 2) were sweating profusely as they tried to serve the orders that were literally piling up in the kitchen's window. Needless to say, the food was deathly COLD. The over all condition of the place was filthy and the spilled pet bowl on the deck that was full of pet food for someone's cat, was about all I could take. Save your money, time, and desire for a good meal for a place that knows how to run a restaurant. It is hard to believe, but every bit of this is true, don?t let The Daily Grind get you down.
