D J's Towing & Recovery

This company told me several times, when they came and got the car, that it would be held in a secured lot. When I called and asked them where their lot was so I could come get it, they let me know that they would meet me at a local gas station with it. When I insisted that I recover the car from where it was being stored they then told me it was in the owner's driveway... Thank goodness I will never have to deal with this company again! more

I am not one to complain much but this business has no code of ethics. I had my car repossessed. I knew it was coming because we could not afford to pay the payments for several months after I lost my job. I was on my way out when DJ's Towing arrived and told me there intentions. I told them, "Sorry but you can't have my car". That is when these two very large men followed me to my car and practically man-handled me in my drive way. One jumped in my passenger seat and one lodged himself between the driver's door and driver's seat, where I was sitting. Both of them then proceeded to grab for my keys which were in my hand. I was trapped and terrified. I am a small (5'2) girl so I'm not sure why they felt that aggression was necessary. I had no weapons and they had me blocked in. Even though I didn't want to give up my car, what could I have done? I'm not a criminal - all I was thinking about was how I was going to get my kids from school. Even so, these men decided that it was in their best interest to trap me and try to forcefully take my keys. They had a tow truck. They didn't even need my keys to do their job. This is an extreme example of bad business. Shame on you! more
