Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center: Abdo George J MD

(Rated 1-star - only because the system forced me to. Personally this hospital doesn't deserve anyting! I am a 43 year old single parent who has honorably served my country for 22 years. Never in my life have I ever experienced such a lack of sympathy from a supposed "professional" medical staff. I was utterly livid when I was finally released after 10 days, that I wrote my Congressman and the BBB informing them of just how awful I was treated. After seven days of Cy Fair Hospitals educated doctors being unable to identify why I was having pain on my right side, they assumed I was creating the pain in my head. Huh? Finally, they listened to me and checked my appendix to find that there was indeed a problem and it needed to be removed. During those excrutiating seven days - I was laughed at, ignored and treated so poorly by the nursing staff when I told them that I was in pain - it was like I was living in a horror movie. They never allowed me to bathe, or clean myself up with a wet cloth until my family inquired. Needless to say, I would never recommend anyone to go to this hospital. There are other hospitals only minutes away and well worth the choice NOT to go here! more

My husband had lung cancer and they admitted him to the heart ward. Obviously nobody read his chart because they put him on pills to lower his blood pressure which he didn't need because he already has low blood pressure AND HE WASN'T A CARDIAC PATIENT!!! The pills almost killed him during a biopsy because between the blood pressure lowering meds, the general anesthesia and his naturally low blood pressure his systolic fell to 70. Food service never brought him his meals - fortunately we only live a block away so I just went home and cooked for him every meal. I finally got him out of there after the RN for the floor asked me if an oncologist is a doctor. On the way out to the car the nurse kept giving me advice about his heart - I wanted to slap the bitch but instead we just got in the car never to return again. BOTTOM LINE: You'd be better off putting your loved ones under the care of a high school biology class. more

I will never again use this hospital's ER...not only did not miss the pneumonia in my daughters lungs, but the phlebotomist would not take her blood for a test. Good thing we have a great pediatrician who spotted it the next day... I have heard numerous horror stories about the CyFair ER, but this time I experienced it first hand. A 106 degree fever is nothing to take lightly, and the staff should know how to care for children, including taking their blood. Her white counts were out the roof, and they did not even check...just released us with some antibiotics and "we think its just a virus"...HAH...Bacterial pneumonia with an air bubble in her lung is more like it... Be careful!! more

Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center is a wonderful medical facility. The doctors and staff are very professional and take good care of you. The hospital has been expanding over the last few years and have added a heart area. The semi private rooms are small in the older sections but the rooms in the new sections are really nice. The nurses take good care of the patients...very professional. The hospital food isn't too bad either. The only drawback is the ER....it really could use some improvement. more
