I have eaten at Cuba Cuba many times. I often take out of town family and friends there when visiting as the atmosphere is awesome, the patio is killer, food is good and the mojitos are out of this world. However, a recent experience won't bring me back for a long, long time. My boyfriend's birthday was this week and we planned to celebrate at Cuba Cuba with another couple. I called a week in advance to order a cake and I was told someone would be getting back to me that day/night. I never heard back from anyone. I was assured that it was no problem to bring in a cake from elsewhere, so that's what I planned to do. A week later, I got a call from someone at Cuba Cuba regarding ordering a cake. I explained the situation and the woman was very nice and receptive. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I spoke to the manager and asked if he would mind putting the cake in the back until we were finished with our dinner. We were met with complete attitude, arrogance and pretentiousness, and told that there was no room in the back and that our cake would be in the refridgerator....where I had specifically asked that it NOT be put. The manager did nothing to make us feel welcome and never spoke to us again. The service was absolutely awful! Our server never introduced herself, let alone said ""good evening"" or ""happy birthday."" Service was slow (we were not spoken to for over 15 minutes) and completely lacking in all areas. That was the first time in 10 years that I haven't tipped 20% or more. If you enjoy a welcoming staff and great service, please DON'T go to Cuba Cuba.
Pros: Atmosphere, Patio, Mojitos
