My husband and I were recent guests in your hotel on Thursday, September 27th and Friday, September 28th. I was in town for the AEAP Conference, which was also held at your hotel.\r \r I cannot say enough good things about your staff! They were wonderful – kind, polite, and very accommodating! From the check in desk to the girl who was at the bar/restaurant (day shift), everyone was so kind and helpful.\r I had left my keys in our hotel room and we stayed with a friend on Saturday. When I realized my keys were missing, I called the hotel; everyone was very helpful in locating my keys. I spoke with Crawford – he is great!\r \r Thank you so much – if I ever visit Atlanta again (and I hope I do), your hotel is where I would stay!\r \r Thanks again and please pass on my compliments to your staff! more

I'd like to acknowledge one of your staff members for going above and beyond his required normal duties for me at my time of distress.\r \r I left my tablet on the plane on my flight to Atlanta. I made numerous calls to the airport/ airline ( United airline ) to no avail. When I inforned Mr. Cortez at the front desk of my situation , he promptly took action on my behalf and made phone calls and e-mails to the airport.\r \r Thanks to Mr. Cortez, I have my tablet back. more

Please read this review! I want to begin by saying I have never written a review for any hotel I have ever stayed at and my job requires me to travel a lot. However, I felt I must give my opinion on my experience at the Melia. I was in town for a conference where all the rooms at all other hotels were booked. After reading the reviews at this site, my nerves were so torn up, I actually went outside the city to secure a reservation just in case when I arrived the hotel/room was as bad as all the reviews. I arrived at 12 noon and I canceled my back up reservation at 12:30. Please keep in mind the hotel was sold out. This was my experience. I arrived to bell hops opening my door, assisting with my bags. I was able to check in early. Jason at the front desk gave me a brief overview of the city and things to do. There were a lot of people checking in and out, but plenty of help and did not have to wait for help. I went to my room. We are a family of four. We had a double standard room (that was all that was available when I made the reservations due to the conference being in town). Having 2 teenagers, we took a single blow up mattress. We had plenty of room! The room was CLEAN. The beds extremely COMFORTABLE. The internet WORKED. The room was FRESH. All the staff was extremely NICE and HELPFUL. We needed more towels - towels were brought within 15 minutes. We needed a blanket - it was there within 15 minutes. The room had a refrigerator and we asked for a microwave. It arrived within minutes of us calling about it. The room had a balcony and the view was OUTSTANDING! Yes, the parking is expensive but you are in downtown Atlanta! There was tape on some of the carpet in the hallways, but it was the same color as the carpet and frankly I would not have noticed it had I not read reviews about that. I did hear sirens but frankly no more than any big city. With the balcony door shut, the room was quiet. The pool was BEAUTIFUL and TRANQUIL. My teenagers used the fitness room and were pleased. We enjoyed lunch and dinner at the bar/lounge in the lobby. The food was DELICIOUS and no more pricey than any other restaurant around. And the lobby is beautiful by the way! The hotel is in walking distance to all the attractions: aquarium, Coke museum, CNN, etc. When we checked out, we had the same bell hop, Chris, as we did when we arrived. He was fantastic both times. We didn't have a long wait for our car (we did valet park for convenience). Chris loaded the car and we were off. I am a huge fan of Hilton properties. My next stop for the evening was a Hampton Inn. When we arrived, it was such a let down from the treatment we had received at the Melia (not anything out of the ordinary for the Hampon Inn. It's just not a higher end hotel). I don't know what people are expecting or what accomodations they are used to, but I can say I am extremely picky especially when it comes to cleanliness. I just did not see what others are complaining about. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Don't be afraid of this property. Try it. For the money, you won't be disappointed. more

I loved the friendliness and professional of every single staff person I encounted both on a business and a personal level. Special thanks to Vicky in sales, Monique and Gabriel in banquets, Carlos and Dominic on the executive level and Trevor at the concierge desk. All of these people should get special credit for giving us a very positive experience and making us feel like we had visited with old friends. This was an example of true hospitality. I liked everyone else as well, just did not interact with them often enough to have remembered their names. Great job Melia in Atlanta! more

The two ladies working that weekend in the Level Lounge were very helpful, suggesting restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. In addition, there was a gentleman who came in and spoke with us about the area and also suggested a few places. more

From the time I checked in my experience at the Melia was great! The staff should great southern hospitality. The view from our room was superb. Great location, most of the places we went were in walking distance from great restaurants and pubs. Valet was great and helpful from the time we drove in, no long wait at all when we needed our vehicle. The price for a three day stay was very affordable. Beautiful pool on the roof top and wonderful food and entertainment on Saturdays where the hotel host a pool party. Great sophisticated atmosphere. The decor of the lobby was very elegant. Great place to stay whether visiting on business or personal! The hotel accommodates for all. The friendly staff catered to all of our needs and was very helpful when we inquired about recommended places to dine, shop and tour. The morning breakfast the hotel offers was also great. I will definitely stay at this hotel again when I go back to Atlanta. Iny friends and I really enjoyed our stay here more

Went for a weekend of dance instruction and socials. The staff is very friendly, generally happy people and helpful. We asked for extras, such as towels, and got them almost immediately. Mack was really quick to assist with directions and taking time to get to know guests. The breakfast buffet is nice-they had a decent variety in which to choose, including omelets, made to order. more

The powerful and excellent Melia brand of hotels has finally opened their first in the USA. The Melia in Atlanta is centrally located between Midtown and downtown, next to train stations and bus stops. From the room we had fantastic views of the Downtown skyline. The restaurant was somewhat lonely and did not have a full menu, just yet. However, the pool was the place to be on a Friday, or Saturday afternoon/evening: music, drinks, food and a lively party for the young crowd. more
