I would never use anyone else! 12/8/2010

Cress Kitchen & Bath personnel were professional, prompt, courteous, and generally wonderful from the start of the project to the finish. They worked with me on everything: my budget, my taste, my wants, and my schedule. My designer was ultra-patient with me; she worked with me to get just what I wanted. Our tastes are very different, but she continued to try to understand what I wanted. By the end, she knew what I wanted before I knew myself! Her service was over the top. I could not have had a more pleasant person to do the actual work. I have a very small house and only one bathroom. It is easy for people to get in one another's way, especially during such a typically stressful period as a bath remodel. Mark was courteous, did excellent work, and was very considerate. He cleaned up thoroughly every night. He went well out of his way to do a fantastic job. There were glitches. A few things didn't go exactly as planned, including the time the work would take. This is just the nature of construction and Cress was wonderful about making things right. A cabinet that looked great on paper was too big in reality, and Cress resolved the problem fairly. I could go on and on. I just can't say enough about Cress Kitchen & Bath. more

Incredibly painful kitchen remodel: 11/11/2010

Although the end product is decent overall, getting there was an uphill battle all of the way. Cress advertises as a full service company but there was nowhere near enough oversight of the project for quality control. The main craftsman was very difficult to deal with and although his work was of a high standard in the beginning, it slipped dramatically by the end, and our designer never seemed to take an active interest in the project. Some of the subcontractors were good and some were not - for example, the dry wallers were excellent, but we put in a very expensive natural stone backsplash and the standard of tiling was awful. It was too risky to take it out for fear of damaging cabinets and granite, so we are stuck with it. The hardwood floor was a terrible standard and took many tries to get to an acceptable level. Overall, the 8-10 week project (as quoted initially) was just completed after 5.5 months. \r \r Before they started work we asked Cress to pull a permit on our behalf (a very normal thing to do) and when the day came to do that, the designer stood back and let the craftsman ask us why we were pulling a permit and talk us out of it (even though we were doing major structural work, plumbing, electrical – you name it). That was a huge mistake. A licensed and reputable firm should pull permits for every job. It protects everyone, but mostly the homeowner to ensure the work is of a high standard and legal. When we realized our mistake we told them we would permit it retrospectively and they tried to stop us.\r \r There were many painful fights during the project to get an acceptable quality end result. Perhaps the most painful was dealing with Jim, one of the owners. He is arrogant, condescending, and has no idea how to speak or deal with customers. He even tried to bully us to pay him $5,000 more than we owed - before the work was anywhere near complete. As mentioned, the kitchen designer did not take enough ownership to ensure the project was going smoothly, and there was very little proactive communication and problem solving, which you would expect for a project of this size. I would not recommend Cress. It was far too painful and lengthy of a process, and much of the work was not the standard you would expect until we fought (hard) to have it fixed. Even now there are places where we were simply too worn down by the experience to continue arguing, but that are not completed to the level you would expect at the price piont. \r \r No reputable firm should question a customer that wants a permit. Ever. With the benefit of hindsight I can't imagine a bigger red flag to moving forward with a contractor.\r more

Beautiful Main Floor Remodel 10/25/2010

My husband and I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks for the wonderful kitchen, bath, laundry and living room remodel recently completed by all the great people at Cress Kitchen and Bath.\r We purchased our home nearly 25 years ago and we had done little to improve or update our 80s style home. When we finally made the decision to remodel, we didn’t hesitate to choose Cress. Several years ago Cress remodeled our master bedroom and bath and it far exceeded our expectations.\r We would like to personally thank the designer’s Kristin Vigil and Sue Boltz for their knowledge and expertise they brought to the design and management of this large project. Their great ideas helped bring our home, beautifully into the 21st century and their design created an atmosphere equal to that of any custom style home.\r We would also like to extend a special thanks to both Jeff Garrett (craftsman) and Doyle Straub (painting contractor) for their outstanding workmanship and integrity throughout the entire project. Jeff laid all of the tile for this project and it couldn’t be more stunning. And, we never thought much about how paint goes on a wall, but Doyle takes painting to a whole new level; again stunning.\r The project was long and difficult at times (like with any remodel), but we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We just love our new remodeled home and hope to call on Cress for future projects.\r more

Easy to work with and very professional. 7/15/2008

We recently had Cress remodel our master bed and bathroom. They were wonderful to work with and very attentive. I really appreciated Kristin and Dan's input to make our design exactly what we wanted but also staying within our budget. Dan is the cleanest and most organized contractor I have ever dealt with. We plan on using them to remodel our kitchen within the next year or so. more

Wonderful Kitchen remodeling 6/25/2008

My husband and I recently had Cress Kitchen and Bath remodel our 1949 kitchen. I cannot begin to say how happy I was with the services that were provided to us and with the finished product. From the Kitchen Designer to the contractors the entire process was great. I had always heard horror stories about kitchen remodeling, but Cress made it as easy for us as possible. We were given a calendar of when everything would happen and when the job would be completed. I believe they finished 1-2 days after their scheduled completion. I don't think a person could ask for more. They had a lock box on our door and we always knew when they would be arriving. As for the workmanship, remodeling a 1949 small kitchen is difficult, but they came in extremely professional and got the job done. I found Cress easy to work with and very professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is remodeling. more

Took charge of the job and made sure it was finished just the way we wanted. 6/11/2008

Upon our recent move to Denver we purchased a home with the intent to make improvements. The home was older so it required a special touch to maintain it's conformity. Cress helped us with the design and gave us ideas we included in the design. We created a master bath into the largest bedroom and created a real"" maste ensuite"". The main bath was gutted and reconstructed. The electrical was upgraded to add more service to facillitate the additional electrical load. All in all we got the professional design and care I expected in bring in a design and build contractor. Jerry, Susan and Dan were always available during the project and kept us updated throughout the process. I'll use them again.\r \r Vecchioni Pros: professional personal attention to detail Cons: Really have no down side experience with Cress more

DO NOT use this company for a kitchen project! 12/9/2006

This company claims to be family-owned and in business for many years, but they give new meaning to the term ""unprofessional."" We used them for a $65,000 kitchen remodel, and have regretted it ever since. There was no general contractor on the job, so my husband constantly had to leave work to come home and let various subcontractors in to complete work. They took a lot longer than their estimated time frame, and have left various parts of the kitchen unfinished and not returned our calls to come correct the problems. The kitchen designer has not seen the finished product, nor anyone else from the company other than the cabinet installer. They also damaged our dishwasher while installing it, thus rendering it useless because the metal on the door is torn on the inside from a crowbar being used to squeeze it into place. They did begrudgingly credit us the amount for the dishwasher, but are now sending us bills for interest since we withheld the amount of the dishwasher from our last payment. Would not recommend and would NEVER use again! Pros: Cabinet installer did a nice job Cons: Terrible customer service during and after the sale more
