Just reading about the Crescent City Steakhouse makes me hungry to go there. This is the quintessential old fashioned unpretentios real deal steakhouse in New Orleans; and I've lived here all my life. The service is no frills but friendly . The finest steaks in town, bar none. Some of the sides could use a little polish in terms of fresh vs. frozen, but that's no major gripe. Great potatoes in all styles, the juiciest most full flavored meats anywhere and the original sizzled in butter presentation ripped off by Ruth's Chris down the street...which is damned near twice the price and half the quality. When you walk in you know that you are in a local New Orleans "joint" which beats all! Real food for real people. It's where musicians, writers, policemen, families, dates and all feel welcomed. And the booths are a neat thing, too.
