Cranker's Coney Island

I ordered the 1/2 veggie wrap and cup of soup off the lunch special menu on 10/8/10. The chicken noodle soup was good, but the wrap sandwich was not what I wanted. It was more like a beet wrap than a veggie wrap. I asked my waitress, Stephanie, if I could have my sandwich wrap remade since I didn't know there would be beets in it. She proceeded to tell me that her boss would charge me for a new sandwich. I disagreed, and asked for a wrap w/out the beets. She said that the only thing she might be able to do is to take the beets off. I overheard her complaining to her boss that I wanted the wrap re-made. Finally, she brought out a new wrap, and I was not charged for a new one. I could tell she was not happy about making a new wrap. I was rushed through the entire meal experience. No customer should be told they will have to pay for a sandwich if it doesn't meet their expectations. Consider me a lost customer, Cranker's. You all started out so strong with great food and excellent customer service. But the last 4 times that I've eaten at Cranker's, it's ended in disappointment. more

Thinking that it was a convenient last resort because everything else was closed seven friends and I went to Crankers hoping to get fed. Were we ever SADLY mistaken. The first indication that this was going to be a horrible experience was we sat for 10 minutes without someone even so much as coming to our table. But we said fine, because we were hungry and like I said earlier, it was the only place open and it was a little busy so we could wait. Then when our drink order was taken she knocked one of my friends silverware off the table onto the floor, picked it up ran to the sink RINSED IT OFF and gave it back to her. Well, my friend decided it was fine because she would order something that wouldn't need silverware. Our order was taken fifteen minutes after we got our drinks, so everyone needed refills by then, which we never got. After we ordered we sat for well over AN HOUR. Our waitress only came back with our appetizers, never giving us refills or bothering to explain what was taking so long. When our food was pushing an hour and forty-five minutes, one of the guys that was with us went to the counter and asked for it to go since we had waited so long because it was too late apparently to cancel the order, even though it wasn't even ready. So there we sat for another twenty-five minutes or so waiting for our food still. Needless to say by the time we got our food, it looked like something I wouldn't even feed to my dog, and was ice cold. ICE COLD. Not a single order of food was even luke-warm. When we tried to complain all she kept saying was sorry, never offered to compensate us for anything. And one of my friends order was still MISSING. That's all she said, "it's missing so someone must have taken it..." Then after a few minutes she said "oh I'll have them remake it." We told her to forget it because we wanted to leave after the whole two hour ordeal. All seven of us had to pay full price (luckily my friend who's food was "missing" only got a water to drink so he didn't have to pay for this crap), not to m more

They have the best hot fudge sundae I have ever had! The atmosphere is pretty cool here and they have a unique menu. You can order an old standby or try some Greek or other ethnic food. We have gotten good service there and have never had to wait long for our food but I have always been there around noon. Be sure you get the sundae if you go! more

A nice family style atmosphere. Price is average to good. Service during the daytime is usually pretty good at least in the daytime, Evenings and the week-end leave a lot to be desired though. more

Crankers is a good place to go and eat.If you like family dining always make sure that you go before 9:00 pm on the weekends........it tends to get a little LOUD after that.They have a little of everything there.....from coney dogs to wet burritos.Customer service is decent........not always the best though.But......the cool lights inside makes up for it........my kids love the pink lights...lol. more
