The movers at Craig Van Lines were very courteous and did a good job with the move. They were very efficient and were cautious with the fine furniture, making sure not to nick or scrap anything. I haven't really checked out other moving companies and so don't have much to say about the prices but overall a great experience. more

The crew showed up on time, 7AM and were finished at 3PM. For a 5 bedroom house that was a lot faster than we expected. Very professional and polite team. Our furniture is in storage and we feel confident they will be delivered in the same condition they were picked up. more

They have moved us several times in the year (it's a long, sad story--don't ask!). Moves were in Virginia and to Florida, and then back to Virginia. Plus putting things is storage to make one of the houses show better. Every move was fabulous--they handled everything professionally and courteously, in a friendly, cooperative manner. They went out of their way to accommodate anything we asked for. I can't say a single thing negative. more

Dealings with the sales staff and scheduling prior to the move date was good. Household goods were to be picked-up, and stored for approximately two months. We were told that the items would be placed in crates, and that the crates would not be opened until delivery at the new address. Loading the crates went well except that the number of crates needed was underestimated causing a major delay mid-day. Ultimately ten crates were filled and loaded. Craig Van Lines filled out and provided a copy of the item manifest by number. Total number of items 221. Nowhere on the manifest did they record the number stenciled on each crate, Again ten crates total. During the two month storage period I contacted Craig Van Lines a few times to ensure all was proceeding as planned and verify delivery date of 9/01/15. Delivery time was established by the Craig Van Lines office as between 0900 and 0930 on Tuesday, 9-01-15. The van actually arrived at 1230 after we were informed that it would arrive at 1400. Only one crate was intact. Other items had been removed from the crates and reloaded in the truck. Items from only 8 of the 10 crates were present. The Craig Van Line office was very tardy in finding the two missing crates and were also reluctant in providing a solution. I provide management with the actual crate numbers to assist in locating them in the warehouse. The "family name" written on paper and attached to the crates was wrong. They said that they may be able to deliver the additional items on Thursday or Friday (this was Tuesday afternoon). When informed that this was "unacceptable", and that the payment check was being taken back from the driver, the office then scheduled delivery for Wednesday at 1430. Deliver of the final two crates which were intact was actually at 1745 (just as a thunderstorm started). As provided above, the individuals who manned the trucks very very professional and efficient. Craig Van Lines did a cross country move for me. This was the first time that I used them, but some of my family members have as well. From what I know they had been happy with their experiences. The customer service staff was friendly and professional when I was scheduling my pick-up and drop-off. The process was very easy. The driver picked everything up and brought the things right to the door of my new home. There was no damage to my items and everything was fine. It was a good service. more

This was the second time that I hired Craig Van Lines. The first experience had been excellent. It had been a very very good moving experience. They had also moved my mother around the same time, and I had been pleased with that job as well, which is why I hired them again. This latest time I had asked that they pack my things in addition to moving them. The supervisor who did the consultation and gave me the estimate saw that I had a large amount to move, and I think he should have prepared more people for the job. They said they would pack Friday and move Sunday. Only two guys came to pack. One of the guys was very good. The other guy that came showed up late, and left early. They weren't even half way done packing by the end of Friday. The driver, and his aid had to finish the packing on Saturday, in addition to the drive. They were both very nice and worked very hard. They were also able to get the delivery done, but it was very difficult. Everything got to my new home safe and sound. I am still unpacking, but I have not found any damage yet. more

I choose Craig Van Lines because they came to my house and did an on-site estimate. Their prices are in line with prices in my area. (We moved locally) All of their movers are permanent employees. more

I had Craig Van Lines help me with a 4-mile move recently. They packed as well as moved. A friend of mine commented on how I probably wouldn't know what was in any of the boxes if I had someone else do that part of the process. My handwriting is so bad, that I figured they would do a better job anyway. In reality, by the end of the move, everything was labeled really well, and nicely packed. There were 2 distinct moving sessions. I left some of the stuff in my town house so that I could sell it before the move, and they came back and gathered the rest of it. The staff was exceptional. There were no broken items. The process exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend their service. more

We hired Craig Van Lines to both pack our belongings and move them from Falls Church to Warrenton. The entire process was smooth. They were on time both days, courteous and careful with our belongings. They dedicated more employees to the job than every other quote I received and beat their own already reasonable estimate by a substantial amount. I would definitely use them again. more

The crew did not know how to pack or protect goods. They lost a number of items and destroyed other. For example, throwing straw hats in the bottom of a large box and putting heavy luggage on top. Mislabeled and misplaced items. All in all, a very bad experience. Hire this company at your own risk. more

The only negative with my moving experience was the rain that lasted about 30-minutes, which delayed the loading. Very light sprinkles before and after were not a major problem. Knowing that Craigvanlines does not control the weather, the experience was as pleasant as it could be. The packers, loaders, and unloaders were very friendly and nice to work with. If my Spanish language skills were better, then there would have been no difficult times for understanding were something went or should be labeled. Everyone was helpful and gracious during the packing, pickup, and off-loading. more

Protected furniture and both houses during move. Asked for 2 trucks and 4 men but got 1 truck and 3 men. Could not acquire additional resources on day of move. 2 of 3 workers stopped working for an hour when it rained outside day of move. more

Thought they were the greatest the first time we used Craig, 7 years ago. Nothing has changed in the following 8 years, they're still the one I will always call. more
