Coyote Canyon is a great restaurant, not only is the food delicious, but the place is very clean, and the staff is very customer oriented. I rate this restaurant very high because the food is delicious and you can select from a hot steaming steak to fish, chicken, brisket , vegetables, salads, and desserts. I am simply amazed at all the good food that is provided. This place is a must for you to try don't just take my word for it. Over indulge with healthy salads etc. more

This is The Place To Be. 9/27/2011

I have been a regular customer at Coyote Canyon for years. The food is great, the service is the best in the city by far, everything is always fresh, and managment is great. One of the only places left where the managers talk to you, shake your hand and invite you back. I will say that over the years Coyote Canyon has had its moments, but I do not know how anyone could post a bad review on this place. The best part is that if they do not have something out that you would like, then they make it for you. Now thats service. more

Impressive 9/27/2011

went over the weekend, and wow does the managment work over there, Beautiful decorations made by hand out of food, steaks were great, also had ribs, chicken, and so much more. I hear they are doing kids eat free from Monday - Thursday what a great deal, now we can go in as a family for half the cost. This place is fun, great music, and its clean, thats hard to find in San Antonio. more

WORST PLACE WE'VE EVER EATEN 2/20/2011

we ate at coyote canyon on military drive last night (february 19, 2011). i'll start with the VERY few good things about this place. the staff was very friendly and helpful. the (fresh) pineapple was good, the hot rolls were very good and my husband said the ice cream was good. oh yeah, and the tea was good. now for ""the rest of the story"": $10.00 each, nearly $40.00 total we spent for the three of us and we were able to eat less than $10,00 worth of food. it was pitiful! we all made several trips to the different food bars just trying to find something we could eat. the ""fresh"" fried chicken they had just put out tasted old and nasty and disgusting. the french fries were cold and tough, the the steaks (no matter how you order them - med rare, med,) they come out medium well and tough and chewy with no flavor. there were no baked potatoes available. they ran out - so i guess we lost out. i could go on, but you get the idea. we are NOT picky eaters per say, but we do expect ""edible"" food. and as for the restrooms, there was toilet paper all over the women's floor and the dispenser had fallen apart and laying on the back of the tank. my husband said the men's restroom was the same way plus was very smelly. we will NEVER go there again. and for sure wouldn't even consider recommending it to anyone for any reason. if it was the only restaurant around for 100 miles, we'd stop at the grocery store and buy a loaf of bread and a package of baloney first. more

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS PLACE IS STILL OPEN 3/16/2009

Golden Coral was packed and my family and I decide to go to coyote canyon on Bandera in San Antonio, TX, it was nasty, the food tasted processed, just out of the can, not even hot, there was not a good selection to choose from, we should have suspect something when the parking lot was just about empty it was a waste of time, and money, I personally filled up on lemonade, my daughter had a ball becasue she ate pizza and ice cream, my son ate up the chicken noodle soup and who can go wrong with chicken noodle soup, next time I will wait in line at Golden Corral, please do not go there to eat, the food is ""VERY NASTY"", I just left from church so I kept my opinion to myself and will write a letter to the manager, I was never so disappointed in my life. Pros: the waitress was very nice Cons: what little selection they had, it was NASTY, more

2nd visit a pleasant surprise 3/7/2009

My sister and I visited this buffet about a year ago and we were not impressed. A couple of weeks ago I revisited it with a group of church friends. We were there for lunch and I was very much surprised at the amazing difference. The food was great. The salad bar had 4 or 5 different salads and they were all fresh and very tasty. I tried the chicken and the fish and they were both moist and tasty. The veggies were well seasoned. The dessert bar was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The only unfavorable thing I can say is, if I want a good steak, I would not order it here. It was just ""okey"". I liked it so much that I was hoping to find another location closer to where I live. There must have been a change in management or something. After I wrote this review, I realize that the Coyote Canyon I went to was the one off Marbach Rd and not the one on SW Military Dr. There must be a great difference between the two. Pros: great salads Cons: steak more

Dont't Waste Your Money!! 11/12/2008

My husband & I ate at the Coyote Canyon on 7200 Bandera Rd. When we arrived at 6:15 p.m. we commented how the restaurant was practically empty. We got our salads & the chopped eggs were like rubber. The couple at the table in front of us were getting their money back from the manager. After getting our food we knew why. The food was AWFUL! Everything was watered down & over cooked with absolutely no flavor. The cabbage was like mush, the corn was dry & hard. The fried chicken was non-edible it was so dry that you couldn't even bite it off the bone. The catfish was cold. The green beans in the casserole were soggy. The brisket was tough & dry. The macaroni and cheese was bland. I am from the east coast so I tried the clam chowder. Now I knew it was probably going to be from a can but it was the cheapest, low budget choice they could find. As a matter of fact most of the food was 2nd rate. Their were two men sitting in front of us & they commented as they left, the food was terrible & they wouldn't be back. There were two other tables besides us that filled out negative comment slips. When we took ours to the manager I commented that they need a new cook & I'd be happy to give him some pointers. He said ""Oh no, our food is good & we do a good job."" I'm sure he probably ignored all of our comments & threw them away. If there is a corporate office we will be contacting them. We also learned from one of the other guests that their other store on Marbach Rd had just received 28 demirates for uncleanliness, poor quality of food, rodent evidence etc. We went there because we are looking for a banquet room for a large future party. Needless to say this place will not be it. They wasted a lot of food because a lot of food is left on the guests plate to be thrown out. We left a tip for the waitress because she was great (and so was her twin sister) but you could tell that they were embarrassed because of the food so they didn't get many tips. Pros: Great waitress service Cons: poor quality of food more

HOLD THE CHICKEN!!! 1/14/2008

On a truthful and more personal level I actually worked at this ""steak buffet"" as they like to call it. In my time working there i don't mean to brag but i was a really good waitress. My customers were never unsatisfied however, i have to admit they did have a problem with rebelious waitresses who i admit would even walk out on a shift!!! Favortism is what they did. Now, the food thats a different story. . . on my breaks i would only eat selective foods. When they made the steaks depending on who was working they were delicious!!! All the other times i would not recomend it. Oh, and whatever you do DON""T EAT THE CHICKEN!!!! I will not say why or what could be wrong with it just don't do it!!!! the Chicken strips yea they're good but no other chicken. The pizza well who can go wrong with it, heck even i made the pizza. I Have to be honest their desert is good for the reason that they don't make it really. Most of the favorites are store bought. Sad but true. Cookies are ""usually"" made fresh. Well, i think thats all i need to say , oh yeah and just don't go there. Pros: service(most of the time), desert, steak Cons: Price, Chicken!!! more

Desert only please. 11/12/2007

I've only got one good thing to say about this place, so I'll start with the gripes. First of all, it cost ten dollars per person to eat at the buffet. I figured, oh well, its a steak buffet, of course its gonna be a little more expensive. The only problem with that is that the place should be called Pi?ata Canyon because it looks good on the outside but is really just a box full of junk on the inside. The steak was nowhere to be found. On the buffet line they had piles of poorly cooked, dried out meats (ham, chicken, pork roast), a salad bar and a random assortment of common foods that buffet restaurants cook because they don't know how to make anything else and are too lazy to stick with a theme. Why in the world would you go to a steak buffet to find spaghetti and pizza. Every other buffet in the world has tried adding pizza to their menu because, ""maybe the kids will like it."" But the truth is, buffet pizza is never good, and Coyote Canyon did nothing to change that truth. Moving on. We only saw our waitress once while we were there. When my wife wanted a refill of her soda, she walked over to the soda machine where all the waitresses were standing around shootin' the s!@#, and it wasn't until she made the move to fill her own glass that the waitress cut in and offered to help. Ok, back to the food. It might be a good idea for Coyote Canyon to change their name from steak buffet to something a little less misleading like ""really bad Mexican food and meat piles with other junk too."" I was surprised that more than half of their buffet was Mexican food. Now I love Mexican food, but everything was either dry, bland, or a combination of the two. Finally, I will end on a positive note. The desert section at Coyote Canyon is awesome. They had tons of different pies and cakes including Pecan Pie, Cinnamon Bunt, Carrot Cake, Oreo Pie, etc. Plus they had a good selection of real ice creams and sherbets. Great Desert. Bad Food. I'm out. Pros: Desert Cons: Value, Service, Food more
