I swear by this wonderful practice. I live in Austin, TX, and there are plenty of veterinary services that I can use between here and there, but I am so willing to make the trek to take my Boston Terrier there! Harley (his name) absolutely has NO fear of his visits here, which as a long time dog owner is rare for me to have experienced! They know Harley by name the moment he walks in, and added bonus, they know me too! Always a pleasant greeting at arrival with a sincere appreciative greet, and happy to see he and I are back! Harley is only 8 months old, so we have visited several times for shots, wellness check ups, and so forth. I feel comfortable and relaxed here that Harley's health is in their best interest, as attention to detail is always first at hand when he visits. He absolutely LOVES Abby!! Abby's interaction from me from the very first visit was vital. She made me feel like there were no dumb questions, and I asked many questions! Abby instantly took the time to bond with Harley! And that's why we will continue to go here. Both of the doctors on staff are just as fantastic. Harley has been seen by both Dr. Fowler, and Dr. Pearson. Whenever there is a concern about Harley's health, (one time he had an adverse reaction to a shot), I actually called to discuss my concern, and Dr. Fowler got right on the line with me!! How great is that?? A doctor that takes the time to reassure an owner that I should bring Harley back into the office because she was a bit concerned with what I was describing for Harley's reactions. It is comforting as an owner, (really I am a parent....he's our kid) to know that someone in practice builds rapport, and cares about it enough to honor and keep that relationship in tact! That's what they do here! I encourage you to visit. You'll feel comfortable, and welcomed. Your pet will be at ease, and not stressed when visiting. Your concerns and questions will be dealt with respectfully and with compassion. Truly the whole practice is outstanding and definitely a team with your pet's best interest in mind!! more

A stranger off the street, I called because my 5 year old Chi had lost use of his back legs. These folks took us quickly with minimum wait and gave us factual concise information and honest non-judgmental options. In the end we had made the choice to put him down but never felt like we were looked down on and the procedure was done lovingly and efficiently. more

I am writing this tip as a WARNING to all pet owners not to use the services of Dr. Long. We were refered to County Line as a great place to take your pets for treatment and care. Over a four year period of time I had questioned my spouse over the high priced billing that occured. We both were reasured by Dr. Long that she was the expert and knows whats best. Under her care, we have two small dogs. One developed an eye infection. Every six months they went in for there check ups. During this time Dr. Long stated that there was no problems with eyes of our first pet. At the end of four years our dog was nearly blind. Our other wienner dog had a toe nail growing crooked. We were told that this was normal for that type of breed. When our dog started to limp, we decieded to take Oscar into Dr. Longs office. She came into the room looked at his foot for about 30 seconds and stated he had cancer and his whole foot needed to be amputated. She sent an assistant back into the room with an estimate for $800.00! and that did not inclued the charge of $250.00 for the visit which total time was less than 15 minutes! When I asked for an explanation as to why she said on the previous two visits she determined the toe nail to be ""normal"", she became very hostile and aerogant towards my spouse and I. I wanted an opinion from an old country doc, and we are glad we did. Oscar had a sist under his toe nail and the only amputation that occured was the toe nail itself. The total cost for the exam, treatment, and anti-biotics; $179.00 and no cancer! Snickers was taken in as well and he has gained half of his eye sight back with medication. This warning is to all pet owners, BEWARE OF THIS BUTCHER SHOP of PROFITS BEFORE PETS! more

Cat Hacked by Hack Vet 9/25/2010

We took our tabby to this vet when we first moved to the area. The kitty had been sluggish. This vet (just call her Big Hair) he would not even spend time with us, shake hands, not even make eye contact. The kitty had some knots in his hair. The vet's assistant shaved the areas where the knots were, no kidding! Big bald spotts. We could have combed them out, but had asked the favor. The poor cat looked like a half sheared sheep. We complained and the girl ran into the vet's office and slammed the door. She almost broke the glass. No kidding! more
