Cottman Transmission Ctr

I can not begin to thank Mike, Tyson, and the guys at Cottman Transmission enough for the work they did on my car. Their expertise in cars is amazing! They knew exactly what to check & how to fix the problem.. I was able to drive my car again within 24 hours! Great job, fast service, and most of all, AFFORDABLE! Thanks again! :) more

I took my vehicle here to fix a transmission fluid leak. They sounded as if they knew what the problem was and could correct it, said it was a front seal leak which is what i thought it was. After 2 days, when i got my vehicle back they said that the seal was bad and problem was corrected ( no more leak ). I was also told that my torque converter looked fine and did not need to be replaced. Well after driving my vehicle for 1 day they leak returned. I called to let them know and was told that it must be my torque converter (after i was told it looked ""fine""). So after $500 for the first problem they wanted $600 to replace the TC. I decided to take it to another tranny place for a second opinion. Turns out, the pump inside the transmission was bad and caused the pressure to flucuate up and down and when it went up, it kept blowing out the seal (the old and the new). I was also informed that i had metal shavings in the TC (the one cottmans said looked ""fine""). Needless to say I needed an entire rebuild to fix the issue(s) at a lofty price. If cottman's would have identified the root of the problem I could have saved alot of time and money, instead they were just replacing pieces (and charging) each time and did not find the cause of the problem. Vehicle runs fine now and no leak. I would be very skeptical of taking my vehicle to cottman's. Nice people, but don't seem to know as much as they claim about transmissions. more

I cant say enough about the Micheal and Tyson at Cottman. They went far beyond my expectations of what I thought they would do for me. Iam a customer for life!! more

The four wheel drive transfer case went out in my Chevrolet 1500. Cottman Transmission was loctated close to my work and I thought I would talk to them about repairing it. I received an estimate that the transfer case would cost $650 to $1200 to fix. $1200 was only if it was the worst case. After taking the transfer case out they called to tell me that it was worse than the worse case and it would be $1850 and if I didn't want them to fix it it would be $275 to get it back without the transfer case fixed. I went ahead and had them repair it and even after the $1850 the truck is still not fixed. They now tell me the motor for the four wheel needs to be replaced. I was waiting for them to get the motor in (which has taken several days) when I noticed that my gun had been stolen from the truck. If you decide to use these guys keep in mind that it may cost well over what they quote and to get ALL of your personal items out of the vehicle before you take it to them. more

Not really thrilled about paying $275 for tow and for Cottman to estimate cost of repair. Cost for repair was on the extreme high end. As a matter of fact it came in at approximately $200 more for them to repair the transmission than it did to buy a remanufactured transmission. Cons: 2 days and $275 for nothing more
