About two years ago I decided to ask my then girlfriend to be my wife, I knew the basic ring she wanted but I also wanted her to be part of the experience so that I could make sure she would love the ring that is the symbol of our love. I had gone to one other place before going to Cornell's and the difference in the experience was night and day. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and treated like valued customers. We were taken upstairs to the wedding ring showroom and treated like long lost family by the owners son. He was beyond patient with us spending an hour or more answering our questions. We looked at a few rings and eventually decided to look at some loose stones....I think we had two more appointments JUST looking at stones! We were never pressured or made to feel like we were being an nuisance. In fact Michael was fully supportive of us taking our time, saying again and again that Diamonds are like people and no two ones are alike and that we should take our time with the decision, even if that meant we went somewhere else.\r \r We ended up going with a BEAUTIFUL diamond for a very reasonable price and they worked with me on the timing of payments to make it as easy on me as possible. Obviously the major reason we went with the Cornell's ring was the quality of the ring but I would be lying if I said part of the reason was not because of how well we were treated!\r \r When it came time to look at wedding bands there was no question where we were going to look, we found the ring we wanted and they were able to get us a very good deal on it, even honoring a pricing mistake that was in our favor!\r \r I decided to get my lovely wife a second identical band for our first anniversary and I knew exactly where I was getting it. I just picked it up and I love it, more importantly she LOVES it. Once again I was met by the owners son who did everything you could possibly think of to make me feel at home and making sure I was happy with the ring and the experience.\r \r I will never make a major purchase of Jewelry for my wife at any other jeweler, their customer service has gotten them a customer for life! more

Cornell's Jewelers holds a special place in my life! The incredible staff of Cornell's Jewelers worked for several months with my husband to create and customize my dream engagement ring! I had no idea what to expect, but I knew when I saw the little brown box I was in good hands! We were so happy with the experience that my husband and I attended a bridal show several months later at the store and found our wedding bands. I know that it is because of Cornell's exclusive selection that we found what were were looking for. Most of all, I am so grateful to Cornell's Jewelers for their personalized service. I never felt rushed or pressured. They truly spend their time getting to you know you and your family. It's such a refreshing experience! The quality of their service is unmatchable. Cornell's is committed to making their customers feel comfortable and special! more

I entered Cornells because the chain on my Rosary broke. As soon as I entered the door I was someone behind the counter who had the typical jewelry magnifying glass and tools but before I could get to her a female sales agent stepped in front of me and blocked my path. ""How can I help you, she said."" I explained that I was old and couldnt see and needed their help to reattach the metal linkage. ""Oh no we cant do that here. We dont have the tools"" even though they had the tools a few feet away.\r \r I could then hear someone say. ""Watch she needs to get him out of here. He isnt dressed for this store and his rosary could offend our jewish customers."" A second later the sales ady asked me to leave.\r \r Obviously this is descrimination by Cornell because they didnt want anything Christian to offend their jewish customers so I left without making a scene called the manager and explained the situation. I said that I was going to contact local churches and put an add explaining the anti-christian bigotry at Cornell and that I was going to put this on the internet.\r \r The manager denied that the sales lady descriminated against me so I called a Civil Rights Attorney. We are going back with jewish jewelry to request it be fixed. If the sales lady lets us pass then we will post it on youtube as evidence of anti-christian descrimination by this jeweler and use it in court to sue them. We might have our very own Paula Deen civil rights lawsuit right here in Rochester. Lets see how Cornell Jewelers does if Christians and Catholics find out about how this jeweler values its jewish clientelle and descriminates against its christian clientelle.\r \r If your a catholic or a christian, dont shop at Cornell Jewelers. more

My Fiance was right about Cornells 1/12/2011

So my new fiance Julie wrote a review about Cornells yesterday. When she told me she did last night i figured I should as well. The long story short, I could not have been any happier with the way we were treated at Cornells, if i remember right the first time we went in we had just come from working out and probably looking back looked pretty grubby. But never the less we were treated like we were wearing a suit and tie; people asking if we wanted water, or coffee, taking our coats just great customer service from the moment we walked in until the day I picked up the ring. I really figured that Cornells would be way out of my budget, but they were able to find the exact look i wanted and were cheaper than the mall stores and way cheaper then Manns across the street (they treated me like dirt because i must not have looked wealthy enough). I just cant say enough about Cornells and how nice they treated me, the owner even gave me a few tips on proposing and how to make it special. Thank you Cornells you have a friend for life. more

A great experience. 1/11/2011

So 3 weeks ago my boyfriend and I went in to Cornell's to look at engagement rings thinking we could not afford anything in there store, but would get a good idea of what we would look for at a lower price store. Boy were we wrong, we were taken upstairs by a very nice young women and given a full presentation and shown all the things to look for while buying a diamond, no pressure just giving us the facts. And the facts are Cornell's was able to find a ring we could afford and looked amazing. We left and i was surprised that the women didn't put any pressure on us to buy now, just handed me her card and said if i had any questions she would be happy to help me in any way. Well my boyfriend proposed to me this morning and told me he had been working with the sales women for the last two weeks and she even helped him plan his proposal. I never write reviews but i was so blown away at the service at Cornell's jewelers that i had to. They now have two more customers for life. more

Response to POOR SERVICE review by Anonymous posted on 7/5/08 6/5/2009

At Cornell's Jewelers, customer service is very important to me, as relationship building is the basis of our business. In response to the spoiled birthday surprise, I take responsibility and apologize for this unfortunate situation. Unfortunately, I unintentionally sent a birthday card to this customer before her birthday. Since then, contact was made with the customer and efforts were made to make amends for my error.I am very sorry that I have caused such a disappointing experience; this was never my intention.Sincerely,The guilty salesperson that feels terrible more

Love it! 10/4/2008

I love this jewelry store! The sales girls give you their undivided attention and make sure you find exactly what you are looking for. I go there to purchase John Hardy pieces. more

Poor Service 7/5/2008

My mother's 70th birthday surprised was runined by Cornell's sending out a CARD to her BEFORE her birth date. We specifically asked nothing be sent to the house and were promised it would go into the computer. A full SIX DAYS before her birthday, a card arrived from the salesperson asking if "they could be of any other service" to her. This was to be a big surprise and they blew it. Don't doubt that this will be passed along to everyone we know. Unbelieveable. more

Driving by, discovered my quality jewelry destination 2/4/2008

Several years ago I was driving by Cornell's and decided to investigate. This resulted in the purchase of a stunning ring. Cornell's became my destination for quality jewelry in a wide range of prices. Personal attention is their specialty and I have never felt "pressured" to buy. Whether purchasing for myself or for someone else Cornell's always seems to have the perfect selection. I have been fortunate to have Linda Cohen assist me. She knows my tastes and quickly finds the perfect choice. When asked where I buy my jewelry, Cornell's is always the answer. I recommend them highly. more
