I finally got tired of manually opening my garage doors and did a search online. Cornell's came up and I called because of these reviews. Richard answered and was over later that day. I knew that I was in for a lot of work because the GDOs were both about to fall off the ceiling. I was expecting to be into this for up to $1000. Richard came over and did a thorough inspection. He basically rebuilt one for me and then gave me the choice: go buy one (he gave me the specs) or spend a little more and have him order one. Amazing. After he installed it, I had a couple of issues with the rebuilt one (not his fault - I opted for some low cost choices) and he came right out and got me working again. I called Richard at 1pm and he was at my house by 5pm. He did not want me to leave work early and was fine with the appointment time. He spent an hour at my house fixing the problem, reinforcing my door and providing general maintenance. He explained clearly what he did and showed me ways to keep the door in good repair. Richard arrived at my home promptly, and did the service I requested (two garage opener installs) at a great price. I was even more encouraged by Cornell after they swapped one of the installed door opener's, which had a manufacturer's defect (loud grinding sound internal to unit upon raising door), next day and at no additional charge. I recently hired Richard to inspect my garage door mechanism, assuming that it was time to replace it. Not only did Richard repair (not replace!) the opener, he explained what exactly the problem was and how I could perform some preventative maintenance myself AND made some minor repairs that have my garage door working (and sounding) like new! All of this was done at what I believe was a very fair price. It is evident that Richard likes what he does and customer service is #1. I recommend Richard highly and will most definitely call on him again if repairs or a new garage door opener are needed. I'm completely satisfied with the job Richard did with my garage door. He was very friendly and prompt, calling me ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. He quickly replaced my broken spring and explained to me how to prevent this from happening again; he also gave me other tips in keeping my garage door from needing future repairs. He arrived even earlier than he said he would, installed a great garage door opener, explained patiently everything I needed to know about the condition of my door, told me what to keep my eye on, and was extremely friendly.
