Love the BBQ sauce 9/14/2011

The variety of sauces is great. The kid love trying different sauces on the food. more

Great BBQ, banana pudding and pecan pie! 6/13/2011

Lots of great bbq in Memphis, but this is probably my favorite. Ribs were very good. But the banana pudding and pecan pie were excellent too. The one on Poplar is always crowded, but well worth the wait. Very friendly staff too. more

Best ribs I've ever had 1/19/2010

I loved the dry ribs, they were meaty and moist. Try the location on Poplar, that's where I ate- multiple times. more

Ok Not Great 11/9/2009

This place is to much of franchise taste. The ribs were tough and dry. No comparsion to the Bar-B-Que Shope. Pros: Service is Good Cons: Ribs Try more

Corky's Bar-B-Q is middle of the road. 8/29/2009

Corky's is OK. Im from here and not a fan. Their BBQ is not great yet not bad either,I guess its middle of the road. The best thing here, I believe, is the tamales. There is better BBQ in Memphis, go explore, you will love the taste challenge. more

Great dry ribs, sometimes too dry though 10/22/2008

I had great ribs. The meat fell right off the bone and the dry rub was really good. However, my co-worker ordered the same and his were way overdone, meat totally dried out. So, on the same day, same time, it just goes to show that consistancy is hard to achieve. If they were too dry the first time, tell them and try again. They definitely got my order right. Parking is scarce even on Mon night. Pros: Dry ribs, service Cons: Parking, consistancy more

Great BBQ 9/27/2008

My husband and I were in Memphis touring their graduate school and we decided that since we were in Memphis we had to have bbq. I looked online for probably an hour trying to choose a restaurant. Finally we went with Corkys because it has good ratings and was close to our hotel. All I can say is WOW. I am a very slim woman and don't normally finish everything on my plate but I did that night. I even was drizzling bbq sauce on the rolls they brought us! The service was great and the ambience of the restuarant was very nice. Be prepared to wait a long time though especially if you are going on the weekends. It is well worth it though. Their pulled pork bbq sandwich was easily the best I've ever had! Pros: Fantastic BBQ, Good Service more

Corkys is Great 12/15/2007

If you are in memphis you must try corky's BBQ it is simply delicious, my favorite is the wet ribs and BBQ shrimp. more

OK, but overrated. 12/11/2007

The sandwiches are good, not great, but this business about Corky's being the best in Memphis is a joke. They are the best marketed operation for sure, but the quality of their product doesn't measure up among true Memphis BBQ restaurants. The ribs aren't in the top 10. more

Best BBQ in Memphis 11/7/2007

Corky's is by far the Best BBQ in Memphis. I absolutely love their BBQ nachos and their onion load is to die for. If you want great BBQ at a great price then look no farther! They even offer a drive thru. more

Perfect wet ribs 8/21/2007

Wet ribs, dry ribs, bananna pudding....it's all excellent. Even the dinner rolls they bring you are great. Everything is good and nothing is bad. They're wet ribs are so good.....lets just say that my fingers have never tasted this good. The meat just fell right off the bone. They even have the dry rub for the ribs and yes those were good too. Parking lacks quite a bit to be desired. Had to wait awhile to get seated but no more than any other place. Pros: everything but the parking Cons: the parking more

great ribs!! 11/6/2006

I just like their sauce. That's why they get high marks from me. I've been told that their dry ribs have more meat on them than do the wet ribs. This place to me is a quintessential Memphis BBQ joint. Pros: great BBQ sauce more

Good sandwiches and ribs 8/1/2006

The food is always pretty good here. The service is good too. Dinner for 2 can easily be $35, so not really on the cheap side, but the value is there. The play great 50s music in the restaurant. Parking is terribly inadequate. Pros: Dry ribs Cons: Awful parking, long lines because it's actually a small restaurant more

One sniff of the pit, and you're in! 11/28/2005

You can ask anyone in Memphis where to eat barbecue and Corky's will often top most people's lists. This location in East Memphis is the original. Driving down Poplar you can smell the fire pit and follow the smoke toward this immensely popular place . There is even a drive though for fast to go service. Corky's offers both wet and dry ribs. I prefer the wet ones. Their rolls are fabulous for mopping up extra barbecue sauce. Be sure to ask for extra ones (and napkins!). 50's era music can be heard in the background, and Corky's merchandise is also available for purchase in the front of the restuarant. If you only to get try one barbecue place in Memphis, pick Corky's! more

great! 11/3/2005

Recommend!! !A+++! Must go!! This is a best BBQ in Memphis! I love the pork steak, potato salad and even the free bread! The price is affordable and reasonable! more

Best BBQ around! 9/8/2005

I can't believe in 11 reviews, nobody mentioned the pulled pork BBQ Nachos! These are wonderful! They are in the appetizer menu unless I am mistaken but they are huge, more than enough for a meal. I might also mention the wet ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, slaw and beans. I was too full to make it to dessert. I will agree that Rendezvous has the best dry ribs in Memphis but for anything else, Corkey's is the place to go. I don't know where the bad revies came from but we always visit the one on Poplar and although it is always crowded, seating doesn't usually take long. You can also have the food shipped to you as well as buy it in many grocery stores. Pros: NACHOS Cons: crowded more

Yummy! 7/30/2005

Corky's BBQ is second to none! Their Memphis dry-rub ribs were incredibly moist and tender, and I absolutely love the potato salad. (It's sour cream base is the difference I think!) We weren't sure we would enjoy BBQ from a chain so much, but it was fabulous! more
