My mom-in-law from the 70's bought many wonderful treats for me and my children from Cordons and now I stop in whenever possible. It is the MOST wonderful candy anywhere! more

I remember as a young girl in my moms girl scout brownie troop in 1967. We went to the store to watch them pour chocolate Easter bunny molds and a lady hand dipping chocolates and telling use what the swrilles on top meant. Love this place the candy is out of this world only sorry its not in a better area. I'm sure if it was in a better place it would be found out by so many others. more

This is a mom and pop candy store where the candy is handmade on site. The outside of the building and area leave something to be desired, but the candy is incredible. Mr. Corden--the owner--passed out samples on a clear plastic tray to all the customers. I tried a caramel, which was a piece of heaven. It melted in my mouth. I also tried a peanut butter and chocolate cream both were wonderful. I bought a box of chocolate and plan to savor it. Try the sea salt caramels. They are like no other candy I've tried. The salt provides a salty taste mixed with the sweet flavor of the milk chocolate it provides a surprise to the palate. What a wonderful experience. more

Corden's Candy Carousel was a treasured stop for me as I walked home from school in the 1970s. Its immaculate candy-striped interior held all sorts of wondrous homemade chocolates, diabetic-friendly treats and ice creams, always served graciously by Ellis Corden and his staff. It is a shame that the area's decay has made this treasured place less welcoming than it was in my youth, but stop in if you can -- and get one for me. We had driven by this Carousal so many times, was not open. One morning we were driving & my friend noticed it was open, as we passed by. I was so excited to find it open, he asked if he should turn around, I said yes, please. We went back, were a little leary when we got to the locked door, then realized the door had to be buzzed open from inside. The selections were many, the women there was nice & helpful when I overlooked what I was looking for. We got some nut clusters, toffee bars & turtles. WOW, WOW, WOW!!! The chocolate is so light & smooth, the best I have ever ate. And trust me, I have eaten lots of chocolates. The nut clusters were full of so many nuts, unlike others I have had. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed what we had, wishing we would have bought more. The only thing I would change is that they were out of the chocolate cherry clusters. (not the usual chocolate covered cherries, which they had) I can only imagine how wonderful these will be when I finally get to try them! I know we will be going back soon, just to try many more candies they have. What a wonderful surprise in this little carousal building! Pros: Best Chocolates Cons: Open times more

Love this place. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Good selection for all of the holidays, and the prices aren't outrageous either. Very good candy. If it says open, they are open. The counter clerk buzzes you in. Pros: All good Cons: limited hours more

This is the first time we have had chocolates from Corden. \r The selecton is amazing! \r The chocolates are fresh and the flavor is perfectly blended - like a fine wine. \r I thought that I had tasted the very best until today when I tasted these.\r They will become our favorite - ,and a great gift for special friends and family.\r (My husband has always made sure that I had an ample supply of Godivas....They will miss us...we now that we know abut these!\r Pros: Best chocolates ever ! more
