One of the worst service ""companies"" in america 4/9/2012

To bad there is not a ""no star"" option. Pam Cook was call on friday and she agreed to a Saturday morning appt between 9-10 AM. She said she would be our tech and she'd see us then. After waiting 3 hours past the appt time Saturday, we called her to see if they had any plans on coming out and she said ""my guy didn't show?"". She said she'd be here in 15 minutes. Another hour or so passed and she finally arrived.. No tools [ I mean NO tools ], with some drunk in tow.. She refused to troubleshoot the system and said she ""knew"" the problem was from a dirty coil [ which was cleaned when the heater was serviced at the beginning of winter ] and said she would ""only"" charge us $200 [ or so ] to chemically clean it.. Before she left, she kept repeating ""we'll get'er fixed for ya"". I thought she might be having a stroke... She was the most rude person I've ever met. We called a professional/different hvac service company the following week. They came out as expected and found the freon low. Topped it off and we've been cool ever since... Avoid ""Cook's Heating and Air Conditioning, LLC"" in Lovreland Colorado. more

Good initial work, but horrible after-service 1/11/2012

I was initially impressed by Pam Cook's friendly phone demeanor when I called with a broken heater. Pam made an immediate appointment, was very polite, helped to educate us on the best equipment upgrades (without overselling). Installation was fast and competent. However, my repeated requests by phone (and my even showing up at her office in person and happening to catch her -- by the way, the actual address is incorrectly stated online) for information that would allow me to register my new equipment's warranty have resulted in nothing but lack of responsiveness on Pam's part, promises to ""get to it,"" and ""ask my gal from the office to get it,"" etc. This has gone on for more than 6 months. Another call on my part 10 days ago resulted in Pam telling me that her office person was gone for a week, but that she promised to call me with the information by end of day on Tuesday, January 10th. Today is January 11, and i have left yet another call for the information I need (this time saying, ""I don't know what else to do. I'm so disappointed."") There is no licensing board for heating/AC professionals in Colorado, so there's no way to complain to a licensing entity. Also, Cook's BBB accreditation had been revoked due to non-responsiveness to a customer's complaint (BBB rating is F-). Do NOT rely on a single, personal referral. Search online and do your own research before doing business. more
