I admit, after I read the other two reviews I was very hesitant to sign my daughter up for this camp (she did the 4 day Pasta and Pastry camp). However, we had nothing but a POSITVE exerience here. Check in on the first day was very smooth. They are given a chef jacket and binder for their recipes. Each day she made a different kind of homemade pasta and some sort of pastry. They bring home what they make to share with family. In addition the well writen recipes, including pictures, shopping lists and supplies needed are included on the recipe sheet. \r \r My daughter was so excited about this experience she could hardly wait to go back the next day. The interraction of the instructor with the kids was good. There were at least 3-4 helpers assigned to the class. I kept asking my daughter questions prompting her to tell me something/anything negative about the class but there was nothing. \r \r I will definitely sign her up again! Pros: Fun, different, educational more

This kids cooking school is a rip off 3/30/2010

The Cookalicious Club in Issaquah, WA is supposed to be a cooking school for kids. I see no benefit paying for this service over teaching my kids to cook on my own. The instructors felt forced, condescending, and not really that good with kids. The food was sugary a lot of times and not that kid-friendly. The business advertises binders full of weekly recipes and quality educational materials, but after seeing what all that was really about, it felt like a rip off...way too much money for something that felt gimmicky. The birthday parties they throw are chaotic as well.\r \r On top of that, sometimes there is only one instructor for a lot of kids, and that poor person is running around everywhere doing a crazy amount of work cooking and cleaning all while trying to supervise 15+ kids using electric blenders! Talk about a disaster waiting to happen. Overall, I give this school a poor rating and would not enroll my children there again. Too bad there is not a more down to earth cooking school for kids, within the means of a typical parent's checkbook. more

Great concept, poor customer service 7/3/2008

The instructor is not really good with kids, most of her interaction feels really forced. In addition, they tell you one thing about pricing when you sign up then switch it around after you have the kids in it and excited about cooking. For instance, we were told that if you paid for the initiation fee your child would get laminated copies of the recipes for every class they attend. So we paid initiation fee ($40) and $15 for the trial class. At the end of the class when the kids did not get a copy of the recipe the assistant assured us she would have a copy the next time we came in. So we paid $35 for the next class (regular price) and at the end of that class the kids got copies of the recipe for that day. When we inquired about the previous week's class recipe I was told we did not pay for that we only paid for trial and trial does not include a copy of the recipe. If we wanted the previous weeks recipe I would have to pay an additional $15 for each copy. Yes, that's right $30 to get two copies of a recipe after we had already spent $180 for two classes and two initiation fees!\r \r No thank you. Pros: Kids get to learn about cookin Cons: Deceptive pricing policy & unreasonable staff more
