Tuscany (formerly Conquest) Student houseing 8/15/2010

All the ""one start"" ratings are absolutely correct. -Yes. If you are idiotic enough to sign a lease with Westar Management, know, in writing, EXACTLY what you are getting into. They honestly SCAM you. Mila told me they get many many calls each year of complaints. HELLO?!!!??? You get it? Please, everyone, DO NOT LIVE AT TUSCANY. more

Conquest is out to scam parents and students. 12/22/2008

Conquest Student Housing is a SCAM! If you look at the reviews on this page, all of the user names are just fake USC related names, probably written by that no good snake Dion Lemon. I lived in Habitat Soo Zee last year, and it was a complete dump with a nice facade. Now I am at Tuscany, where once again, they fool you with a nice facade and give you overpriced, and sub-par apartments. Conquest tries to fool parents and students by having a nice website and office, but they really don't care about anything but their paychecks. Bottom line: don't waste your money with these snakes. Mila is an airhead, Candy and the other fat lady don't care about their tenants. Lastly, that uncle tom Dion will smile in your face, but doesnt really want to help his tenants. STAY AWAY FROM CONQUEST!!!!!!!!!!! more

Tuscany- over priced, terrible rude service, and poor quality 11/25/2008

I am living in Tuscany apartments right now. The website and the staff fool you into thinking you are living in the lavish apartments for USC students. There are stains on the carpets down EVERY hall way, black marks all over the walls, the elevators break every day and they are in no hurry to fix anything. When moving in my dishwasher and refrigerator were both broken, many light bulbs were burnt out, and the internet plug was not working. The carpets have many stains, some blinds were missing, and the walls have large chips in them. The walls are so thin you can hear everything that is happening above, below, and next to you. I have been very unfortunate to have very loud and rude people living above me, and noise complaints do NOTHING for you. Conquest does nothing about noise problems, even though they state in your contract that 3 noise complaints will have you removed. The staff at the front desk in the conquest office is extremely rude and promises things that never get done. You have to hound to see any results. The only pros about Tuscany are the gym, parking, and the location being so close to campus and the coliseum. DO NOT RENT FROM CONQUEST and certainly do not waste your money on Tuscany. Pros: parking, location, gym Cons: rude staff, poor quality, not given what promised, thin walls, dirty more

Spend you money elsewhere! 11/23/2008

Once they have you on a lease that's the last you'll see ANY customer service. They take you money and spend it on their fancy office not on the apartments. Do yourself a favor...Go somewhere else! Pros: There are none Cons: crappy housing, dirty, incests everywhere and rodents too more

Do it at your own risk. 8/29/2008

Honestly, if you're lazy enough to live in conquest and not search out one of the many better housing options near SC, then you deserve all their crappy service. Pros: cable and internet comes with rent Cons: high rent, low service, shady business more

an OK choice for a not-so-much-available choice neighborhood 8/19/2008

I was a tenant at Conquest for two years and finally moved out when I was done with school last June. Conquest was mediocore overall - they seem to listen to your problems and do take care of the issues but not always in a timely manner. I had some work order requests - dirty carpet, broken toilet, trash disposal, etc, except for internet which they take care pretty fast (but kinda hard to talk to because sometimes they put you on the phone with a heavy-accented tech) put in for weeks or sometimes more than a month before they finally have someone come in to fix them. You just have to keep bugging them and get to their department head to get your things fixed. Besides their outrageous rent, their properties are very close to the USC campus that is the major reason I chose to stay with them - but beware that some of their properties are old and their condition is quite bad. I had a switch to another property that they owned - and yes with even more outrageous rent. So basically if you can't find housing around USC and have the money to afford the rent, then you may want to consider Conquest. I heard they are pretty strict on changing and getting out of the lease contract. more

DO NOT LIVE IN CONQUEST HOUSING. EVER. 8/12/2008

I'm a USC grad ('08) and just finished 2 years with these slumlords. Pros: The high end apts (Tuscany, Palisades) are nice; most have decent location Cons: Corrupt, indifferent office staff more

Great, All Inclusive Housing 3/13/2008

Conquest is the greatest because they do not nickel and dime you like all the greedy landlords in the area. They include parking, Internet and Hi Def Dish Network in rent. Who else does that??? Pros: All inclusive, no nickel and diming, great service, no mom and pop landlords Cons: Their office is a little far from my apt, bad cell phone service in my apt more

Service You Won't Find Anywhere Else 3/13/2008

I think Conquest is the best housing in the area because the people there actually care. When they upgraded my building to HiDef, I was unable to get it to work. They sent a guy to my apartment who worked on it for two hours and still could not get it up. He drove all the way from my apartment at Carolina to the office to get another box and returned back to my apartment to try again. He ended up staying until 11 pm to get it working because he knew I wanted to watch the basketball game the next night. It is pretty sick. Everyone in my building watches the games in HiDef on my plasma now! Pros: Caring Staff, Hi DEF!!!!, Cool buildings Cons: Nothing more

Conquest is the Best Choice for Housing in the USC Area 3/12/2008

I am currently a senior at USC and I have been a Conquest resident for almost 3 years. I have nothing but great things to say about Conquest. I lived in their Palisades building my sophomore year, and lived in Tuscany for my junior and senior years. Both buildings were great to live in. The Conquest management staff is professional and helpful, which you can?t find with any other housing provider in the USC neighborhood. Sure the price is a little higher, but in my mind it has always been worth it. Their buildings are the best, they have a full maintenance staff that always responds to any problems and they have great service. They are the only ones in the area with 24-hour security and night patrol. I locked myself out twice at three in the morning after getting home from parties and they were there in five minutes to let me in with no attitude whatsoever! My single favorite thing is their MyConquest feature on their website. It is so PIMP! I pay my rent on there, I can check my ledger on there, get a copy of my lease, and do a maintenance request on there. Also, the pool scene at Tuscany is insane?? Pros: Great service, beautiful buildings, professional Cons: Nothing comes to mind more

its a toss up 2/6/2008

Conquest and I have a love/hate relationship. The apartments are in great locations around USC, they are basically only students and for that reason, safe. They work to maintain the quality of the fascades of buildings. But, the staff is NOT friendly- theyre rude, stuck up, and not helpful. Ive had so many fights with them about lease signing and cable boxes. Also, the apartments are overpriced and its seems every year the prices go up. I'm in a one bedroom apartment and paying 1700 a month. There are a lot better deals at locations around USC, but i do have to say that something about conquest just is reliable and safe to me. Its really a toss up on how i feel about conquest. Pros: good locations, nice apartments Cons: rude staff, overpriced more

USC Students and parents: Avoid this company like the plague! 8/24/2007

My daughter just moved into one of Conquest's apartments. Her place was FILTHY and in need of MANY repairs when she moved in. We cleaned for 6 HOURS just to get to the point where it seemed okay to touch things. Sure the staff is friendly -- they were perfectly friendly when making promises to us, but very little has been done. It took 5 days of calls and visits to the property manager, general manager and maintenance crew just to get locks put on the windows (this is a first floor apartment!). They were much quicker to clean up the huge dead insects that we had to get some Raid to get rid of! Thanks for that, Conquest. Also, we found that what was on the website was not what was available in the apartment. Pros: Proximity to USC campus Cons: Extremely poor condition of exterior of building and interior of apartment. more

Best USC Apartments BY FAR 2/14/2007

I lived in several buildings while finishing my graduate studies here at USC. Conquest manages (owns?) a building called the Tuscany here at USC, which is nicer than my parents house. If you can get in (fills up fast) this is the only real luxury apartment near SC. Pros: Pool, Spa, Study Lounges, Rooms, Lobby, Coffee Bean, Quiznos, Beautiful People Everywhere Cons: fills up really fast, parking lot feels like a luxury car show more
