Gorgeous Apartments! POTENTIAL with renovations 1/17/2008

What fabulous apartments! A girlfriend of mine just purchased one and I msut say, these are some gorgeous apartments. She compeltely renovated (most of them need to be, but it is so beyond worth it!) Some 'old' ones still left from the older brooklyn days, but the new chicer crowd is making it's way in, though a bit slower than one would hope. I have heard from both my friend who purchased (with plenty of issues) as well as a few others that the board/management can be a hinderance. But truthfully, all of these people have raved about how gorgeous the apartments are inside! If you can just stand the management a bit longer, it will only be a matter of time before they are all gone and the new owners begin to make their way in. Which means, now is the time to buy! I am checking everyday to see what opens up, but be quick! These apartments get snatched up VERY quickly... Pros: Beautiful Apartments - more than worthy Investment Cons: Building Manager and Co-Op Board - but surely that won't last long! more

HIDDEN GEM 12/5/2007

Unbelievable layouts, spectacular views and infinite possibiltiies: that is what these apartments are about. Unfortunateyl, I have heard similar complaints to these. The Co-Op Board doesn't seem to be growing with the times and the rest of Brooklyn Heights is. The shareholders should really step it up, a real estate agent friend of mine told me their Board has not truly changed in years. Apparently it's made up of the same people, they just switch around positions. Something to think about, but definitely not something to hold you back! I just purchased in a co-op on Livingston, but if something had become available in time this would have been my first choice Pros: views-space Cons: staff-management more

Cut your nose to spite your...shareholders! 10/3/2007

Though I myself do not live in Concord Village, my boyfriend does and as I do spend most of my time by his place I can tell you the insiders point of view on this. My boyfriend has a beautiful, spacious one bedroom in CV and a while back, the apartment next door went up for sale. We really wanted to purchase it and join the two to make it into one beautiful apartment, but we had heard nothing but horror stories about people who had renovated there and all of the problems they give you. I don't understand, wouldn't they want people to renovate and raise the value of the building? Apparently, the 'old ones' on the board keep management wrapped around their fingers so that things only go their way. It's a shame because these are probably some of the most spacious apartments in NYC not to mention the breathtaking views! I'm not sure what the manager's name is, I only know that he and his staff are anything but helpful as when we were trying to find out information about purchasing the second apartment they were nothing but rude and nasty. Not to mention, the people on that board would probably never let my boyfriend purchase the second apartment just out of spite since that would mean he would own more shares. Can't we get them out of there? It's shocking to me that other shareholder's don't realize that other apartments in that neighborhood sell for three times as much for the same square footage. If I myself were a shareholder, my first priority would be informing the other shareholders of what is holding back one of Brooklyn Height's most beautiful residences: the BOARD! Maybe I can get my boyfriend to run... Pros: Gorgeous Apartments; Beautiful Views; SO much Potential Cons: MANAGEMENT, BOARD, MANAGEMENT, BOARD more

Bureaucracy is KILLER-should be five stars 9/11/2007

Great place to live but some gross wrinkled scank Helene and a rear end hold named George (whose you know what was removed a couple years back) make people's lives miserable. They for some reason do not want to sell anything which is why it is so cheap to buy there. But let me say this once the current board is gone these apartments are going to shoot up in price faster than you can write a check. Most of the board is so old though they should be dead in a year or so. I would buy it up now while you still can. I am a real estate agent in the heights and love the location, too bad for old people controling some great properties, shareholders I am sure would love to see them drop dead so there apartments go up 50% in value. Please note the board can be paid off from what I am told. Pros: locations Cons: staff is a misery more
