Worst

I had to use computer geeks to wipe my computer from the virus XP security 2012, saw that there were infos on the net to do that, but to be on the safe side i went to Comp Geeks. ...

I had to use computer geeks to wipe my computer from the virus XP security 2012, saw that there were infos on the net to do that, but to be on the safe side i went to Comp Geeks. Without even looking at the computer they started suggesting i just reinstall windows, thanks for the time consuming advice, and asked 185 dollars to do that, as i insisted on first trying to just wipe the virus, they agree to do it for 75 $ on top of the 35$ diagnostic fee. (i told them the name of the virus but anyway). When they returned the computer, they said it was clear of the virus, but that windows was damaged and i would have to reinstall it anyway, my computer was able to access my email box and surf the net, but i should wait to long to reinstall windows. the missing program for windows to run properly was rundll32.exe. It took me exactly one hour by surfing the net to find a very easy way to just reinstall the missing link. So, either I AM the computer GEEK, or these guy are just plain incompetent (which i doubted), or more damaging to them, LAZY. So i would strongly discourage anyone to go there or encourage the so called geeks to actually found solutions that are in the best interest of their client. more

Will NOT be using them again. 3/10/2011

I have used them in the past, and they were great. HOWEVER, I am really upset about my last experience. My computer suddenly died, so brought to CG to fix the problem, which they indicated was the power supply. They installed a new power supply, but didn't bother to check to see if Windows could load, which I had told them was also a problem. So I get computer home, and the power supply works but Windows is corrupted and won't load. So I had to bring it all the way back and they charged me AGAIN just to reload Windows, even though they acknowledged that they didn't even bother to check if Windows worked. THEN they failed to return my keyboard and mouse with my computer tower, and since we didn't notice it right away (my husband picked it up and he didn't remember that they had our keyboard and mouse), they are not reimbursing us or provide us with new keyboard and mouse. Overall POOR Customer Service in my opinion. I will never use or recommend them again. more

I can not say enough about these guys. Quick service, fair and honest and a great price. I took my computer to several places before I gave them a try. I spent alot of money trying to get the problem solved and I honestly feel as if the other places uptown ripped me off. The Geeks quickly told me what was causing the problem ( A bad hard drive) and all I can say is finaly my computer works beautifully, better than it did when it was new.\r Gotta go and see these guys you wont regret it. more

Great Service, Great Price, Qualified Staff 11/2/2009

Brian (owner) is highly qualified and provides fast friendly service at an extremely reasonable price. For the repair I needed I had been quoted no less than $70 (some...like Geek Squad...were going to charge that much just to look at it). These guys only charge $35 to diagnose, and if it's a quick fix (as mine was) you walk out of there for the same price. He is not trying to up-charge or get one over on you in your time of computer need. I highly recommend that you go to this place for any help with your computer...you will not be disappointed. I will never go anywhere else in New Orleans. Even if you don't live close to uptown, it is worth the trip for the money you will save and the piece of mind. Pros: Quick and friendly Cons: I can't think of a single con! more
