Honest, Ethical and and Beyond Expectations 8/27/2019

I was so surprised when Dr. Silverman only charged half of the price he quoted me! He said a lot of the eye had healed by the time my dog Charlotte needed to be in surgery. He only charged me for the work he actually had to do! He didn't want to overcharge me. This is amazing in today's world where everyone is so money driven. This specialist is honest! What a refreshing thing. I would send anyone here. more

Top Cataract Specialist - Recommended By My Vet 4/23/2018

Overnight my dog Ryder's eyes went to greyish white. He was completely blind. My vet called Dr. Silverman, who is his first choice of specialists with cataract surgeries, and got me in. Dr. Silverman was also right on top of this. He got me right in that day and was able to do the testing for cataract surgery. Ryder passed and we set up for surgery. The testing is very important because if Ryder did not pass there would no point in proceeding ahead. Two of my friends have had Dr. Silverman do cataract surgery on their dogs with great success. I am impressed with the efficiency, professionalism, and team work between my veterinarian and Dr. Silverman. He is obviously highly regarded. more

Dr. Silverman is an embarassment to the veterinary professional 8/23/2017

Dr. Silverman is an embarassment to the veterinary professional another cog in the wheel of the "eye care mafia" in Southern California, who all circle their wagons when one of the makes a series of enormous errors. So, just so everyone out there knows, these doctors, who are at best marginally qualified are performing eye surgeries which they know are highly risky. Apparently the only good option is to take your animal to UC Davis which has a proper medical center. Anything else is basically playing russian roulette with your pet. When one of them messes up, and you try to get a second opinion, they are happy to take your money for an exam (this has now happened twice after a double botched eye surgery at VCA). But when you actually want them to stand behind their work, and in this case, to perform a life saving surgery which they had already provided a quote for, and said was an emergency (also a lie), they will go behind your back and without permission contact the prior medical professional to collude with them, and then in the end deny care. So after scheduling the pre-op consulation so I can have the "emergency" surgery for my dog scheduled for tomorrow morning, I get a call tonight (the night before) at 5:30, from Dr. Silverman's secretary, Lisa, who tells me that they are cancelling my appointment and that they will not see my dog. They will not provide any documentation from the prior visit, nor will the Doctor himself even get on the phone. They also refuse to turn over the records from the visit and the examination. This is a violation of Veterinary Ethics as "Veterinarians are obligated to provide copies or summaries of medical records when requested by the client" and a violation of California Business and Professions Code section 4855. This is the most disgusting spineless action I have ever experienced from a medical professional and he should be in shame for his renegging on a sick patient at the last minute. more
