IN REPONSE TO "PRETTY SAD": \r \r I feel quite strongly compelled to respond to David C.'s "Pretty Sad" review of the Companion Pet Hospital of Fishkill. (By the way, the doctor's name is Ouart. David, you could at the very least have taken the time to spell the doctor's name correctly.) \r \r When I read David C.'s comment about Dr. Ouart, I was truly outraged. Dr. Ouart has been caring for my pets for the past 12 years. I have resided in variety of states prior to New York and have had experiences with numerous veterinarians. Throughout these years, I have never encountered a more highly skilled, professional, gentle and caring veterinarian than Dr. Ouart. His dedication to the animals in his care as well as their owners is extraordinary. Being a doctor of veterinary medicine is not just a "job" for Dr. Ouart, but a true calling. He has cared for sick, abandoned and abused animals and spent time finding them good home ALL at his own expense.\r \r Dr. Ouart defines the very essence of excel more

We have been customers of Dr Ouart's for more than twenty years and have found him to be an excellent vet who, with his staff, has gone beyond what was required for the care of the five dogs that we have brought to his office. He is an excellent diagnostician who will answer any questions that you may have in a caring, personable way laced with his dry humor. The entire pet hospital, from the front desk to the techs helping Dr Ouart, is run in a consummately professional manner while always showing a sense of sympathy for the cause of your visit. We have always been grateful for his work and will continue to recommend him unreservedly. more

We have been going to Companion Pet Hospital and dealing with Dr Ouart for well over 15 years. First he cared for our Sheltie \r "Tommy" from 8 weeks until we had to put him down at 13 years. He has now been caring for our Yorkie "Cody" for the past 4 years. I have never seen him, and his staff, to be anything but professional, knowledgable, understanding, and extremely caring for the animals and their families. It is obvious that the previous reviewer had not been seeing Dr Oaurt "for a while". If he had, then he would have known, as anyone who knows Dr Ouart does, that he constantly jokes with his patients. The statement that was attributed to Dr Oaurt,if made, was obviously done so as a joke. It is hard to believe that any vet would seriously recommend throwing an animal against a wall. I highly recommend Dr Ouart and Companion Pet Hospital to anyone looking for a vet. I have recommended Dr Ouart to several of my friends who now go to him. We went here for a while when we first moved to the area. Dr. Ourt. I believe he is called suggested I throw my dog against the wall to control his barking while we were there. He's a Pomeranian so I know these guys like to bark, a lot. This recommendation didn't seem right to me so I stopped going there. I think he's in the wrong business. more
