Don't let this group anywhere near your AC 8/13/2012

Evidently CE’s low BBB rating is well deserved. My regular AC people were short-staffed because of family emergency. So I called CE instead. He only looked at my unit inside (the compressor & fan) for a moment & then went outside for another minute or two. Came back and told me that I had terrible problems and needed an entirely new unit. He gave me a long list of problems. When I questioned the cost of the new unit he ‘told me’ he was sending over his manager but it would be about $5000. I asked him to just fix it because I didn’t that kind of money. He refused to fix it because ‘it was so terribly unsafe’ and offered to finance a new unit for me. He mentioned a lot of things like electrical fires and carbon monoxide. Since my AC has been regularly serviced by the same firm for years, this didn’t make sense. I sent him on his merry-way and called my usual people. When they arrived the next day the entire system had been disconnected. They replaced all of the damaged parts (damaged by CE?), cleaned the unit, replaced the compressor and did a general overhaul for $250. Be warned this group is obviously operating one of the biggest scams in the AC industry. Do not let them anywhere near your AC. more

Dishonest, overpriced, damaged property 3/10/2010

If needing work done on your AC/Heating unit, please look elsewhere. When our AC stopped working last summer, it got to 100 degrees inside the house and we had just brought home a new infant. I was completely desperate to get it fixed as soon as possible, and by my mistake, I hired Comfort Experts because they were the first to offer help. After doing some research (after we had already signed the contract) I realized we had paid more than triple what most other companies were charging for the same product. In installing our new AC unit several months ago, they did extensive damage to the walls & trim around our closet, then never repaired it. Then when working in the attic, they stood on my husbands workbench and broke a large piece off of it. They also ruined some of my husbands tools (which they used without permission) by caking some sort of dry wall compound into the electrical components. I am currently waiting on them to replace the AC filter. They promised it would be done Monday. It is now Wednesday and I haven't heard a word from them. Please don't make the same mistake I did in calling Comfort Experts. more

Very bad experience. Worthless guarantees. Be careful. 2/2/2007

This company agreed to install equipment of a certain brand and specs. They promised if the work was not done to our satisfaction they would remove the equipment and return our "investment". We gave them 3 chances to install the proper equipment. They never did. They have refused to honor any of the alleged guarantees. My advice, based on my experience is that you should not rely on any of their guarantees or promises. Be very careful. We made a $10,000 plus mistake and have gone through a terrible ordeal with them. They go by multiple names. One of them is Comfort Experts Inc and another is Hobson Air Conditioning Inc. There web ads and advertising are very slick. I wish I had never run across them. Without a doubt the worst purchasing experience of my life. Be careful and good luck. more
