I started going to KAS when I moved to Buford because I had seen them in all the hair magazines. Lauren did my cut and color and it came out AMAZING. I never have bad hair days anymore, which is odd for me. My hair is short, thin and unmanageable and Lauren did a great job at disguising that. The only complaint I have about KAS is that they are very expensive, more than I was paying in New York. So unfortunately, I do not know how much longer I will be able to afford to go here. :( more

walked in for a hair cut and was told they were booked for the whole day. Only had one client and there were 3 stylist. All chairs were empty for the next 3 hours and stylist were just hanging out. Never again more

The service was exceptional and the people were friendly. If you are looking for a quiet experience, this one is not for you -- it is definitely ""abuzz"" with activity from clients and stylists. more

I have read some of the comment's posted about ""Kathy Adams Salon"". I must say that first I realize we all have different opinion's on what a great salon should be but, I would like to give my feedback on my experience from my visit's to KAS. I have been a client for a couple of years now and have been to many salons in the Atlanta area. I Love my hair! Since becoming a client at KAS. I have never had anyone be rude to me at KAS and all the staff is very friendly and welcomes everyone. Kathy and Adam being the owners of the salon do a great job by working as both stylist and business owners. I have had several stylist do my hair and all seem to care about the client and making sure they listen and give me what I ask for. My stylist right now is Josh. He has not been at this salon long but, I feel so comfortable with him as a stylist. He is very kind and listens to me and also makes suggestions for my color that I would not have thought of and I love that he knows what will look good on me. I will continue to see Josh as my stylist. He is very creative and proffesional and yes he is a cutie!! He talks to me about my hair but, also has coversation to make me feel at ease. I think he will go very far in his career as a hair stylist.The salon is small but, it is fine just as long as my hair looks great I. Thank You Josh for making me look forward to getting my hair done the right way! Also thank's to all the staff that is so warm and friendly. I love my hair and have never been able to say this so keep up the great work all of you. I reccomend this salon to everyone and have reffered others to Josh. I've been going to Kathy Adams Salon for almost a year now. I love the salon, friendly owners, and stylists! The atmospehere is fun and comfortable. The stylists are very knowledgable and willing to help each other out. My stylist is Lindsay T. She's genuinely friendly and a great hair stylist! She takes her time and pays close attention to detail to ensure you leave KAS looking your best. I'm constantly stopped where ever I go and asked, ""where do you get your hair done?"" Lindsay always does a great job. I'm the type of person who loves change-so we're always discussing something ""new and fun"" to do with my hair. I'm always pleased with the results and tonight is no exception!!\r I just got home from the salon and I LOVE MY new style and highlights! I feel like I just stepped out of a magazine!!! THIS SALON WAS A GOOD CHOICE FOR ME. THE STAFF ALL LOOK GREAT AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF THEMSELVES. THIS TO ME IS A GOOD INDICATOR OF HOW THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF ME. I HAD A THOROUGH CONSULTATION WITH MY STYLIST AND WAS SURPRISED THAT SOME OF MY SUGGESTIONS WERE ADDRESSED AND AT TIMES REPLACED WITH THE STYLIST RECOMMENDATIONS. I LIKE THIS. SO MANY SALONS JUST GO WITH EITHER WHAT THEY WANT OR WHAT EXACTLY THE CLIENT WANTS EVEN IF IS NOT GOING TO BE FLATTERING. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO DISCUSS WHAT WILL WORK THE BEST FOR ME. I LOVE MY CUT. I ACTUALLY FOUND THIS SALON IN THE HAIR MAGAZINES. THE SALONS WORK IS PUBLISHED IN ALL OF THEM. THIS GOT MY INTEREST SO DECIDED TO TRY THEM OUT. I had just moved here from Illinois, and I was looking for a good salon that was close to the Mall. I heard many good reviews from this site and decided to give them a try. I was scheduled for a cut and color which was nothing huge; just a touch-up on my red color (I'm naturally a brunette) and some added layers and thinning (my hair has a lot of body and volume, which I have to thin out to prevent poofiness). The stylist was alright, but there were many times i felt like she was making too much ""small talk"". The color was fine, but I was rather surprised with the hair cut since I noticed she wasn't taking out much weight. I asked her why she wasn't using the thinning shears and she told me ""I don't use thinning shears, I'm just adding layers to get rid of the weight"". In the end, my hair style didn't look any different than what i came in the salon with. I will give them props for the color job; but $65 for the color and $48 for the cut (and that included the 20% mall employee discount) seems a lot for a ""touch-up"" job. I guess I'll have to keep looking... Pros: Location, mall employee discount. Cons: Costs too much for what you get. more

I have been going to Kathy Adams Salon for years now and have had he opportunity to use several of their stylists. Each and every one of them have their own individual style as well as talents. I never feel uncomfortable when trying someone new in the salon, because I have never had a bad experience. The salon manager is wonderful and always calls me by name. I am always welcomed with a soft drink and recently discovered they do a paraffin wax dip while my color sat. The mall of georgia is always cold, so they even have a warmer for their towels to help relax their clients even more. I think this salon is doing everything right and will continue to be successful as long as they pay as much attention to small details that mean SO MUCH! You guys are AWESOME! I decided to try this salon after reading the wonderful reviews it had received. My stylist, a fairly new employee, was very nice but seemed very inexperienced. I had to wait about 15 minutes after my appointment time before he got started. Even though I was getting a color treatment he did not give me the opportunity to change into a colorsafe gown. Though we had a thorough consultation, the stylist proceeded to give me a very poor haircut and color unlike what we discussed. I went home to find my cut was uneven (I even had to have him fix a piece while I was at the register paying). My hair was suddenly dry, brittle, and in really bad shape. When I went back a couple of days later to complain they were great. They got me in that day to try to fix what the original stylist had done. 'Lee' was able to fix the color as well as give me a treatment to help with the dryness and brittleness. She evened up the cut as best she could and tried several styling techniques before I left. Though her advice was to just let it grow, she was at least able to make it tolerable while it does that. Thanks to her I do not feel like I look as bad, but I will never use the original stylist again, nor will I ever book an appointment with a 'newbie.' more

I was very excited to go to Kathy Adams because of all the great reviews, but a bit disappionted after my trip. I am not saying that the service was bad. It was just OK. Nothing spectacular. My experience was an average one. There are many more salons I'd rather go to before I choose this one. more

I have been going to the Kathy Adams salon for a year. It has a very professional yet warm atmosphere. I drive all the way to Buford from Buckhead to get my hair cut. I have found that they are better than any of the salons I have been to around where I live and the price is great. Amy is my stylist. I never worry about my hair looking bad with her. I just tell her what look I am going for and she does her interpretation of it. She gave me a great bob last week. If you want a high-quality cut for a good price go to the Kathy Adams salon. The whole staff is well educated in color and up to date and traditional styles.They have 4 levels of stylist to fit your needs as well as your budget. You can make an apt. or just walk in Mon. through Sun.. You will find their work in all the top hair style magazines. So pick your style and stop on by and you won't be disappointed! more

I was referred to the salon from a friend who has been there mutiple times and has seen a few different stylists. I was booked with Cindy and told her I really had no idea what i wanted, she did such a thorough consultation with me, and helped me figure out what was going to be best for me. I left there feeling like a whole new person! I've never had people stop me for my hair before and now it's like a regular occurance!! Thank you CIndy , you're awesome!!!!!!! more

The worst cut I have ever had - cried all the way home and am still crying. Went and bought visors, hats, and am considering a wig. I am pretty good at salvaging a not-so-good cut, but this one is beyond me. I wanted a blunt-cut below chin length swinging bobbed style, and got layers chopped into it everywhere that do not blend or lay evenly. Two-inch layers in a circle around the crown. I now have what looks like a short hairstyle on the top and a mid-length hairstyle on the bottom, with any thickness cut out of the middle so the shape is horrible. Not unlike a medieval Greek Corinthian helmet - minus the noseplate, high on top and flat on the sides. Very noisy place, so when you talk to the stylist during consultation I don't think they can hear.\r \r I forgot to print out the $10 coupon, so ended up with a $65 nightmare that will take me eight months to grow back to a length to be able to get what I expected - somewhere else. Cons: Extremely noisy and crowded, no room in waiting area more

I have been going to Kathy Adams Salon for three years now and have finally found a great salon with stylist that care and listen to what their clients want! My hair is very fine and thin and hard to work with but Lauren has made me feel like a new person. She talked to me about extentions so I had them done and I LOVE my hair. I have also seen Josh who is very proffesional and suggests different options when Lauren is not available. Josh also makes my hair look beautiful when I need my color done. They both have such style of their own I Love that! Also the best shampoo I have ever had!! The extentions are human hair so I can style it however I want ,Curling iron, flat iron This salon is Great and friendly ,not snobby like some other salons. I highley reccomend Kathy Adams Salon. I will always come here for my hair! Thank You Lauren and Josh and all the rest of the staff! Best Salon in Atlanta! Pros: The salon cares about your hair and keeps it in great condition. i just got my cut and color done today at kathy adams salon. my hair turned out better then i imagined. not only that, the entire staff was so complimentary and sweet to me. it was a really great experience and have finally found a well rounded friendly salon. it was a wonderful experience. BAD Customer Service - great haircut. I've been to KAS 4 times and loved my haircuts with Lauren. I had to make appointments 4 weeks in advance, but it wasn't too much trouble to plan ahead. \r They double booked my last appointment and didn't notice until 30 minutes prior to the appointment. Of course, I was already at the mall by then. They couldn't fit me in with my normal stylist (I was just getting a haircut - no color, ext. or anything). The soonest appt they could offer me was 5 weeks later. 5 weeks for their mistake. Not to mention that I had to call the manager. They didn't even apologize or anything.\r \r I loved my stylist Lauren, too bad she works at a salon that providdes such HORRIBLE customer service.\r \r There are plenty of other very good salons to choose from in that area.\r \r I will not be going back.
