Not professional....find another realty company 2/9/2011

I had the worst experience with this Realty Company...specifically with an Agent named Jordan. He was extremely unprofessional, rude and instead of trying to sell me on the features and benefits of the apartments, he kept asking me ""so are you going to rent it, are you are you?"" He even went as far as suggesting apartments but then told me he didnt want to waste his time by showing me the apartments because he thought I couldnt afford them. He then proceeded to ask me how I was going to afford it with my current job. Its not up to him to tell me how Im going to pay my rent, I wanted him to show me apartments that I was interested in. I had a budget but was willing to go over it and pay more if the apartment was right. I ended up going with another realtor that was much more professional, polite and not so rude and pompus like Jordan. I then emailed him to tell him I appreciated his time but I went with another realtor and he proceeded to send me the rudest email which leads me to believe that he is the worst realtor agent and City Realty should think twice before letting this guy take out any of their clients. more

Horrible Service, No Communication, Useless Realtor 10/18/2009

We used City Realty Group to find an apartment in Boston. They quickly pressured us into paying a down payment, without making sure we were comfortable with the place. After they had our money, they stopped responding to emails and phone calls. When we had meetings scheduled at the office to sign papers, they got delayed and we had to wait to see our realtor. When we moved in windows were broken, faucets leaked, and the unit was generally in poor shape as it hadn't been repaired after the previous tenants moved out (we had been informed repairs would be made before moving in). Since moving in, leaks have opened up in our roof that have been difficult to get repaired. City Realty Group is both the realtor and the landlord, so there's no excuse for this delayed service. Pros: found us an apartment Cons: expensive, no repairs, not clean, no communication more

The most helpful and professional office I found 3/7/2009

I jyst recently got my dream city apartment thru City Realty in Brighton. Its affordable in a great location and has great boston charm. the search prior to meeting Alison was all work...when I met hershe made the experience fun! She knew the neighborhood, hidden resturants, ect. She is truly a pro knowlegable & experienced. I recommend this company highly! BTW I don't usually bother writing reviews but this one is deseved!!! more

AVOID CITY REALTY GROUP LIKE THE PLAGUE 5/19/2008

I never usually write negative reviews, however I was so bothered by these jerks who totally took my money and withheld my deposit on a property. They never returned the deposit an I have been forced to take legal action. THe owners are extremely dangerous business people and should be investigated by the real estate bureau for fraud and deceptive practices. more

Avoid working with this Firm 5/4/2008

I would advise against working with this company. They participated in some highly suspicious activity that made me feel very uncomfortable. If you are looking to rent a unit, definitely do not use this company. I later discovered that they were stealing craigslist postings from the owners and listing them as their own property. If you are looking to rent, you can just look on craigslist, find the exact same listings and generally do it without a realtor fee. City Group was also very unprofessional in how they handled clients and listings. more

Great help 7/9/2007

This is more of a review of the broker I worked with than the City Realty in general, but both get 5 stars from me. My girlfriend and I were looking for a one bed close to the T with some shared garden space and two parking spots in Brighton or Allston. We worked with a few brokers from the likes of Greenline and NexGen, but we ended up sticking with Adam Kotkin from City Realty Group. First of all, he wasn't pushy, which was the problem we were having with some of the other brokers we saw (both during this search and ones in the past). He was also well-organized and very sensitive to our needs-- the yard was key and he made sure to call each landlord before the showing to make sure it would work with our needs... we have a Jack Russell who likes to stretch his legs AND we don;t mind the occasional backyard BBQ. You'd think every realtor would want to save his/our time by only showing places that could work but that's obviously not always the case... Adam was considerate and showed he valued both his and our time. I would definitely give City Realty a call and ask for him if you want to deal with your apartment search efficiently and pleasantly. more

Good experience with Arty 7/5/2007

Definitely the 1st time i didnt feel awkward in a car with a stranger... I worked with Arty from City Realty and it was probably the best way to end a crappy day of apartment hunting. I was only in the area for the day (just moved from Cinn.) and had been around with a couple of other realtors but no luck. He's the funniest kid you'll meet under the circumstances and was quick to line up some good places. We closed pretty quickly too, so if you're short on time give him a call! Pros: A lot of knowledge of the Brighton and Allston neigborhoods more

Makes the house hunt much less risky 7/5/2007

The last time I moved I tried to use Craig's List and ended up living with 5 roommates in what I believe to be an illegal sublet... big space? Yes. Messy, poor maintainence and shady neighbors? Yes. Do it again? NO. more

Hello Boston I have worked with many real estate companies in the past. more

New office but on top of their game 6/25/2007

Its a new office but the renovations definitely didnt mix them up... they;re all over their stuff. Adam helped me find me a new place and I definitely needed the help? I had no idea about the neighborhood but he explained everything from the typical people to the good places to go. Thanks buddy! more

Patient broker 6/11/2007

I rented a new place through CRG recently and was most impressed by my broker's patience with me. I'm not a millionaire and can't afford running into a deal and ending up with a bruise on my bank account. She understood that and didn't mind my indecision... stuck with me until we found a good fit! more

Easy and friendly brokers 6/1/2007

These guys know what they're doing. The brokers I worked with were knowledgable and really knew about the areas I was interested-- mostly Brighton and Allston. I'd definitely give them a call if you're looking to rent, even if its just to ask a few questions before you start your search. Pros: their office is brand new and really nice more
