Kind of annoyed that the finance person was so pushy. Also annoyed that there was only one key for my car. I did research the vehicle knowing the carfax history of one accident, that was NEVER brought up during the process. Let's just put it this way, if they didn't have the car I wanted-I would never have gone in the first place. I don't plan on going back. more

Service: Incompetent with a lack of customer service. 11/19/2011

I've have multiple visits with this service department for my 2 Subarus. My wife and I have owned 6 Subarus in our lives: A 1980 hatch back, 2002 WRX, 2003 Forrester, 2005 Forrester, 2007 Legacy, 2010 WRX. My wife had a Forrester that needed scheduled maintenance. While we think Sommer's Subaru is far superior on knowledge and customer service, we live on the South side of Milwaukee, so Subaru City is much more convenient. How difficult can routine maintenance be? Well, when doing the radiator flush, the technician either didn't properly bleed the air out of the radiator or didn't properly fill it. It overheated (who knows how long my wife drove with it overheating). We took it back and they apologized. I asked how we can be sure that no damage was done, they didn't have an answer. Within weeks, the forrester started to burn and leak oil. We felt like we could do nothing about it; If we bring it back and complain, they could deny it, and we were worried about the car's resale value if there was this note on its record. In a few months, we sold the car because we could no longer trust it. We didn't feel we could buy another Subaru because of the lack of a good service department nearby. When I leased my WRX (from Sommer's), I purchased the Subaru maintenance plan, which effectively pre-pays for the scheduled maintenance. I've had this car in to Subaru City 2 other times for service on the maintenance plan, so it should be in the computer (not to mention it is a Subaru program). I brought the WRX in for a standard 15000 mile service to Subaru City. When scheduling the appointment, I told the person about the program. When dropping off the car (overnight drop off), I wrote on the slip that it was under the program. When I picked up the car, the cashier knew nothing about the program and service was closed. Even though I had the plan paperwork, she made me pay and said she was working the next morning and she'd take care of it, and have them call me and reverse the charge. I didn't receive a call so I called the next afternoon. Service was again closed. If I don't hear from them Monday, I will dispute the charge. Long story short... I already don't buy vehicles from Subaru City due to their service department. Now I feel I have to drive 20 miles out of my way for even the simplest service. This will be the last Subaru that I own or lease. It's not worth the bother. more

They were so helpful! 11/5/2011

I bought a certified pre-owned Subaru from a different dealership last December. After a couple of weeks, I was noticing the transmission was grinding when I was shifting and there was a clunk coming from the front of the car. Due to a horrible experience I had while buying this car from the first dealership and the run around they gave me, I refused to take my car back to them and instead took it to Schlossman's. When I brought my car in, they told me the dealer I bought it from never even submitted the paperwork to have my car be certified! Since I didn't want them to work on the car without the warranty they told me to just bring the car back whenever the paperwork to have it certified was done (that was a battle in itself). After I got that all taken care of, I brought my car in for service - they gave me a very nice, free loaner to drive while my car was being worked on. Unfortunately, I had even more problems and the service writer called me to tell me Subaru didn't want to cover the transmission work because it was basically worn out from the last owner (apparently wear from a previous owner isn't covered under the warranty??). Since I only had the car a few weeks, I was not about to pay for someone else's bad driving, especially since the car was under warranty. Schlossman's was AWESOME in helping me get this taken care of. They let me keep the loaner as long as I needed to while I was arguing with Subaru (one whole week!), and they were so nice every time I talked with their staff on the phone. Eventually, Schlossman's called me and told me Subaru let them know the transmission would be covered. When I got my car back, they even fixed the clunk (a ball joint, NOT covered under warranty) for free! The staff was so pleasant, friendly and understanding, and they made an awful experience a heck of a lot better for me. I will definitely be going there anytime my car needs service, and I would recommend anyone with a Subaru to go them, as well. more

Expect Poor Service 9/28/2010

I recently purchased a used car from Subaru city. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. The car I bought had noise coming from the rear brakes (a common occurrence) so I had made the sale contingent on a brake inspection. When I came back the next day to finish the paperwork the inspection hadn't been performed. I had to come back the next day so that they could do the inspection while I was there. I didn't really care to see the brakes, I just wanted them fixed!. I arrived at 9 a.m. the next day because my salesman had mentioned that it's not a good idea to come between 12 and 1 p.m because they have lunch then. (please forgive me for interrupting your lunch with $10,000) At that time the inspection still had not been done, and I waited two more hours for it to be completed. Finally, I was close to driving off in my new car. I offered to physically change over the plates myself since I had things to do and was tired of their drab waiting area. My salesman said, ""No that's my job."" Eventually he was able to pull himself away from a conversation with one of his co-workers and actually change the plates. After he had finished he informed me that they had somehow lost the spare key overnight and that I would need to come and get it once they locate it. This is really inconvenient since I live about 15 miles away, work full-time, and take 18 credits at school. Obviously, I'm not happy at all with their customer service. The car is fine, but had I known what I was getting myself into with them I would have walked away from the deal. I cannot find words strong enough to properly convey how poorly they handled my transaction. I will never buy another car from them, and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. more

Great experience- great deal 8/19/2010

What a great experience!- Yes, I'm talking about a car dealership. The deal, the people, the service, all beyond expectations! Go see Jim Lemke. Even the dreaded finance manager pitch turned out to be pleasant and beyond expectations. This is my 4th Subaru, and I only wish Subaru City had been around for the other 3. Forget Racine, drive up to Milwaukee, you won't be disappointed! Thanks Mike Schlossmann, you've got a good thing going. more

Great Place in a Great City 8/13/2010

This location had been the largest and most successful Dodge dealer in Wisconsin for over 30 years straight. The bankruptcy of Chrysler in late 2008 changed the future of this location. Since then we have been very fortunate to have a great product with great staff in service, parts, body shop, and sales. Let us show you how, with your help, we will become the best Subaru dealer in the Midwest. Hope to see you soon. more

Brake Service 6/10/2010

I brought my car in for service and the work was excellent. I worked on the wireless internet provided free to me in the customer lounge while I waited for the work to be done. The brakes work great and the price was very reasonable. more

Never go to Dodge City South 12/10/2007

I have had great experiences with the Dodge Dealership in Colorado where I purchased the truck. It was a huge mistake to assume I would get similar service at Dodge City South in Milwaukee. \r \r I went in to have the hitch assembly replaced and decided to also have basic maintenance done by the service department before I made the 1000 mile drive to Colorado. \r \r I picked up my truck, and on my way back to downtown Milwaukee MY RIGHT REAR WHEEL FELL OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY! Luckily I had slowed down to around 50mph as I entered downtown. I was fortunate not be involved in a major accident as I was traveling at 65-70mph just minutes earlier. \r \r When the truck was repaired (new rear wheel, new brake rotor, new wheel studs, etc...) I returned to Dodge City South to pick it up. The manager of the service department seemed to think that fixing the damage they did to my truck was enough and had no intention of even offering to refund the money I paid to have their incompetant mechanic work on my truck. He eventually reluctantly gave me $100 which was a less than what the services cost. \r \r Months later later I took my truck to the dealership in Colorado for it's next service to have the tires rotated again. Apparently the incompetant mechanics at Dodge City overtightened the lugs so much that the guys at the Colorado dealership had to drill out my lug nuts and wheel studs to get the wheels off. This cost $300. \r \r I sent a certified letter to, John Dunk, the General Manager of Dodge City, asking for them to cover the $300. I enclosed all the receipts showing the work done by both dealerships. DODGE CITY SOUTH NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO RESPOND.\r \r The people at Dodge City are incompetant, unpleasant, and unprofessional. Go somewhere else. Cons: Incompetant mechanics, rude managers, unprofessional practices more
