Had used these guys in previous years, but just moved back from Seattle and found that their service is not even close to what it once was. They consider themselves high tech but I was held hostage by these guys when presenting a credit card for payment. Not only did the guy refuse to take the card but he kept the meter rolling while locating an atm. This was not for a 2.00 ride but a $50 ride that I'll now being using another service for weekly. I have many friends and expo members who fly in and all will now know that City Cab is a distrusted transportation service. more

Loved how fast they were. Yellow blew me off for over an hour, then City Cab was there in less than 5 minutes. Loved the electronic credit card swiper too. They set a time to get me the next day, and were early so I could get to the airport. Thanks City Cab! more

Thank you City Cab for your quick response when I called a cab for my wife who was in labor with our son. Thank you also for the fact that when you did not have a cab immediately available you took the initiative to find us another option as quickly as possible. And when you sent an available cab before an alternative was found your driver called us right away to determine the fastest route to where we were and when he arrived took it upon himself to get out of the cab and help us get our bags loaded and my wife secure and to the hospital as quickly and safely possible. Fast, courteous, friendly service. I could not be more pleased thank you again. more

Absolute Trash. If you want a cab that will show up do not call this cab company. These drivers and as well as the dispatcher I have recorded multiple counts of fraud and larceny. Their declaration of services have caused many missed flights and ruined appointments. Do not EVER call this company for a cab. more

Without your customers, you are out of business City Cab! Worst experience ever. The cab driver told me the fare to Ogden would be $70 after I told him to take me to the Commuter Train Station from the SLC airport. After convincing me to take his cab, ( I was sick), he stopped and asked me for $20 cash for gas as he had no money for gas. He told me he would take it off the final bill. At my destination in Ogden the total bill was $104.86 on the meter. He apologized for his ignorance and his incorrect estimate. However, I am a nice person, and I paid him with a Visa card as I had no other option at this point. He told me he would take off the $20 cash and I signed a receipt for $84.86. Of course, City Cab billed me for $104.86 and refuses to give me the credit. The dispatch guy told me Mohamad Ali was unethical in what he did and they would give me a credit. He (dispatch) is a rude SOB. However, NO CREDIT. I disputed with CHASE and we will see what happens. BAD, BAD, BAD City Cab. I'm also filing a complaint with BBB and suggest you do so also if they treat you fraudulently as they did with me. $20 is $20 and they are creeps. more

This cab has the worst service ever. If you want to ride in a stinky cab that smells like vomit and has drug needles in the bottom of the cab then use this company. One cop grounded the a cab that had been used to transport meth lab. The next day the owner of the cab Company tried to get one of the drivers to take it and got angry when the driver refused. Eventually one of the other drivers ended up with the toxic cab. Do you really want to ride in a un-safe cab? more

City Cab: World's worst, most archaic cab company 1/31/2011

We booked a cab to pick up clients at the airport. They never arrived. When our clients called to let us know they had not come we called, and spent aprox 20 minutes trying to get the dispatcher to send the cab to pick them up, whilst they argued that they never agreed to pick them up. The City Cab dispatcher hung up on us twice and the following week when we called the accounting department for a copy of the receipt from the purchase of the 45 minute late cab ride, the accounting department also hung up on us. We requested they email us a confirmation when we made the original reservation and they said they couldn't because they didn't ""have email"". When we requested they email us a receipt from the the credit card payment for the ride they said they couldn't because they ""didn't have email."" DO NOT EVER USE CITY CAB IF YOU WANT TO GET TO WHERE YOU'RE GOING OR IF YOU CARE ABOUT HOW YOU'RE TREATED BY OTHER HUMAN BEINGS!!!! more

Called for a cab to come to sears at 800 south main. today. After an hour and a half, no taxi.. I am diabetic, and need regular insulin. Who would have imagined that it would take this long for a pick up in the downtown area. The manager at sears gave me and my packages a ride to my brothers house, where I keep spare insulin. I am filing a complaint with the city of salt lake. I was originally intending to go out to magna, which is a 50 dollar fare. As it turned out, I went to the avenues to my brothers house for my insulin. If the taxi had come in a reasonable time, the driver would have made 50 bucks. more

Over Charged Hung Up On Twice 2/12/2010

I received a ride from my home to my bank while I did not have my car. The cab driver nearly got into an accident leaving my neighborhood stop sign, and yelled and cussed at the car he almost hit. He also bad mouthed the company and owners for most of the ride which was uncomfortable. My cab ride was clearly overcharged as well. I contacted city cab when I arrived back home to confirm their rates. When they confirmed rates and I let them know what I was charged they told me their meters must have been broken in that car. I was over charged $1 per mile. I asked him what they would do to fix it and he told me he couldn't the meter was just off. I let him know that I was upset with this and wanted a refund for the monies over charged. He began to yell at me and hung up on me. I was furious at this and called back to ask for a manager. The manager told me that I gave the wrong address and this is why I was overcharged, which does not make sense when I had already received a cab ride from them, confirmed rates and confirmed being over charged. I let him know this and asked what he would do to fix the situation. He told me I had a bad attitude. I let him I know would place a complaint and he told me I should and that I had a bad attitude again and hung up on me... again. Terrible services all and all. I did place a complaint as well. more

Difficult For No Reason 11/13/2009

Working as a receptionist, a gentleman from one of our meetings asked me to call him a cab. I did and the gentleman waited in our lobby. When the cabbie called 10 minutes later and I asked him if he was able to find our building, he asked me ""what building"", played dumb as to if I had even called a cab at all, and was overly difficult and rude. I gave him directions over the phone and asked him to park and wait while I find the gentleman (who now had went to the restroom). Apparently that was too much hastle for the cabbie who then spent some time harrassing me for not knowing the name of the man who wanted a cab. When I told him that he could just leave if it was too big of a problem he again harrassed me about how I should pay for his gas money. I do not know if the gentleman even got the cab or not. Out of the 3 major cab companies Salt Lake has City Cab is the most reliable and friendly. I work in a place where we frequently have to call a cab for someone and I will only call this service. more

Tremendous, professional service in a time of crisis 4/19/2008

My husband's Alzheimer's disease has taken a turn for the worse and he wandered off, but this time it was in our car. Both police and sheriff's offices were involved. He was found near Winnemuca. The City Cab dispatcher immediately got a driver for me and Paul kept me calm and plied with diet coke until he safely got me there. I felt he was extraordinary. more

Great group 2/22/2008

I have used City Cab for the last 7 years on and off when I need to get to the airport, or somewhere else and dont want to leave my car. I have never had a problem with them, they are always on time, and always friendly. The only complaints that are ever heard about these guys is that New Years Eve is a bad time to get a ride. Hello? SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS 12/31/2007

First of all, I called at 2 pm on new years eve, was GURANTEED a cab by 8 pm. at 8:15 I was told we were forgotten about and that a cab was on the way. at 9 PM I was told ""it's NEW YEARS EVE what do I EXPECT?"" after I mentioned the other HORRIBLE reviews, the owner of the company THREATENED ME! and said come down here and straighten it out! WORST SERVICE EVER 12/31/2007

INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED!!! This company provided the poorest service I have EVER received. We called a day ahead of time to reserve a cab at a specified time on New Year's Eve. The person taking the reservation promised that we would have a cab at our reserved at the time. When the cab was 15 minutes late we called to see if the cab was on it's way. The owner answered the phone, said ""it's New Year's - what do you expect?"" and proceeded to threaten us saying ""Why don't you come here through the phone and straighten it out?"" - and the conversation continued to go downhill form there. Rubbish. You can wait for for about 30 minutes and then after your 2-nd call they are saying like: ""Try something else buddy"". I really need a taxy when was waiting in hospital - they didn't come. Their attitude is special one - they can just put down the phone while you're trying to get some info. Pros: Nothing Cons: No respect for clients. Can even ignore your call more
