Chuck Merciers Union 76

I want to tell you about my experience with Chuck Mercier's Union 76 service station in Burbank, CA. I have this beautiful, black 2003, 330I BMW. I was not getting good service at Century West BMW so I gave Chuck's 76 a try. First, complete brakes & drums and sensors. The technician was a man named Art. Let me tell you.. the best I have ever come across in my 61 years. Awesome, great person and integrity. Did I tell you an incredible technician? The manager of Chuck's 76 station is Garry Pack, an honest, straight forward man with an extremely high level of integrity. There are also 3 more of the top mechanics and also human beings I have come across in my life. I know when I feel comfortable giving my valued car to have work done at Chuck's 76 station that the work will be done right the first time and the bill will reflect an honest value and the job at hand completed. Gary, Chuck and the entire team of techs are some of the most reliable people in the car repair business. I honestly can't say enough how much I trust these guys with not only my two cars, but I've sent friends and family to them as well. Gary is a straight shooter and WILL never pressure you into a service or repair. They have saved me thousands in premature repairs that were "recommended" by the dealer on a 2 year old car. I could go on and on about these guys! more

Chuck Mercier Union 76 Auto Service in Burbank has been servicing my various cars for over ten years. They've done quite a variety of things: they've replaced batteries, done some engine work, replaced the air box, and worked on an oil leak that necessitated an engine tear-down to an extent. I always feel I get a fair deal and fair assessment of what's going on with Chuck Mercier's. They explain things very well to you. Gary is especially helpful. We've been doing business with Chuck Mercier since the early 1960's. We know the brothers quite well, and all the guys at the shop quite well, and they have taken care of my company cars and personal cars for years and years. This most recent time, we took in a car for an oil change, filters, get the brakes checked, and all that sort of thing for my wifes car. No problems there, it all looked good. They did find an oil leak in the rear shock, but it was under warranty, so they fixed it free of charge. We had them replace the other shock too, which we paid for out of pocket, so they paid for one and we paid for one. We paid paid the bill, and everything was cool! For almost 21 years I have been taking my cars to Chuck Merciers 76 for what ever they needed. Whether it was for an oil change, breaks to fixing a flat tire. Everyone from the owner Chuck, to Garry, Art and the girls inside are the best. Profesional yet personable. I will be moving from the Burbank area shortly, but I will continue to bring my car back to Merciers 76. I wouldn't even think about having someone else work on my car!! more

I brought my car in and Gary found the problem immediately and repaired it quickly. He also read my warrany book and discoverd i HAD 300 MILES LEFT ON MY WARRANTY AND SAVED ME $2000.00 ON A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER !!! more

I have been using Mercier's Unocal for my car repair and service needs since I was 16 with my first car. 19 years later, I am still taking my cars to Mercier's Unocal! There customer service and quality of work is always the best. I recommend them to all my family and friends. more

Over the last 13 years, Chuck Mercier's 76 has done a variety of maintenance and repair work for me. Chuck is a good man to deal with and his team of people are very good as well: polite, honest, and helpful. All of the work that they have done for me, on 4 different cars, has been very satisfactory and timely. Gary, the head mechanic, is excellent. They never want to do unnecessary repairs and, in fact, they will avoid that. If your car needs bodywork and they cannot do it, they will give you a good reference of someone who can. Also, they are always valuable in terms of giving advice on what to do with older cars, once the car has reached a certain age. They make good recommendations. I do not know a lot about cars, so one of the nice things about taking my car to get serviced at Chuck Mercier's 76 is that I can depend on them to look over the car, troubleshoot it, and let me know if anything else needs to be taken care of. I have been using Chuck Mercier's 76 for over 20 years because of their service and workmanship. They are very customer-service oriented, proactive, and communicative in terms of making sure that things are taken care of before they become a problem. They take care of the little things, which I appreciate. For example, if you go in there and have the oil changed, they also check the tires to see if they are worn and they take out any nails they find. I have a standing order with them that if they find something minor, they will take care of it. If it is a bigger job, they will call me and I will decide how urgent it is. With Chuck Mercier's 76, you never have to worry about them finding the time to fix your car. They always have that sense of urgency that I have, and in this town, you need a car! They have serviced 4 different vehicles and have done everything from repairing electrical door problems to rebuilding the air conditioning unit on 3 cars. The major work that they have done has lasted for years, so there are times when I go to them for oil changes alone. They do not nickel-and-dime you. I also appreciate their hours because they are there 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and about 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. They have great relationships with specialists so you do not have to worry about who to take your car to. For example, if your car needs a front-end alignment, they know where to take it and you can pick it up the same day. They also have transmission specialists lined up. They have built these relationships and you get reassurance knowing that your car is in good hands. They also are constantly training their own staff. Most of the mechanics at Chuck Mercier's 76 have been there for 10-plus years, so the loyalty is there. I am sadly very disappointed in Merciers 76.I have been using theym nearly 10 years( I own a store in the mall). Over the last 18 months they have gone thru various mechanics and I feel they have become somewhat unresponsive to customer's needs. An old saying 'If you don't take care of your customer's someone Else will' more

I had to get some serious work done on my car and I wanted to get it all done at one time, in one place. I shopped around to almost every mechanic in the Burbank / Glendale / Studio City area and EVERYONE ELSE was $300 MORE for what I needed done! I finally found these guys through a friend's referral and these guys were a God-send! Besides being much more inexpensive then the rest, Mike and Art helped me out and were very cordial and very thorough as well. A good mechanic is very hard to find and these guys are the BEST! Hands down! more

I have been going to this station since I moved to California. It was not easy trying to find a trustworthy and reasonably priced place. I drive from downtown LA because their staff is very nice, helpful, and honest. Other service stations I have been to tried to take advantage of me (because I'm a woman). My family owns service stations in Hawaii so I know what to look for in a good automotive business. I highly recommend them. more

My family has been going to Chuck's since the 1970's, either for gas, tires, car repairs, oil changes, or smog checks. They have changed the station a bit and now have a little pay area with munchies, restroom, and payphone are available. And if you live close you might be able to get a ride home while your car is being worked on. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and are certified for the repairs and car work. The only thing that is disadvantageous is that it sits on one of the busiest corners in Burbank. There is really only one good way in and one good way out, else you might have to wait awhile to get out or be forced to go a way that you dont want to. The prices are very fair, they are very honest and this is enough to keep a lot their customers coming back. more

As far as 76's go, this one is always very clean and dependable. I've been going to it since I've been old enough to drive and in Burbank. Prices are fairly average and it's easy to get to, and not always very crowded. Convenience is a major plus these days, plus the guys here are nice. more
