Royalty treatment 9/26/2008

Until I came to Christy's, the best filet mignon I've ever had was at Graziano's on Bird Road. Not only was the food amazing, but the red suggested by our server Waheed was excellent. The service was splendid, everyone being very courteous, and Waheed made sure our wine glasses were always filled. Pros: Service, Food more

We had a wonderful evening. Great experience 2/26/2008

Visiting from Nashville, we recently had dinner at Christy?s restaurant. It was recommended by friends as one of the best in Miami. Our server was quite attentive especially since the restaurant was packed. With 6 in our party, we tried a variety of appetizers and entrees. The crab cake was fabulous ? large chunks of delicious crab. The shrimp cocktail consisted of 4 huge shrimp ? quite impressive. Caesar salad was included with our entrees! We ordered the prime rib which was served with freshly prepared horseradish sauce. Delicious! The Filet Mignons came just the way they were ordered ? medium rare. They were tender and had great flavor. The duck was served with a blend of wild rice and had a nice mandarin orange sauce. Surprisingly, the fish dishes were just as good. The tuna was sushi grade served rare with a wonderful coconut rice and vegetable. The Sea Bass was delicious. We couldn?t resist the key lime pie and the Baked Alaska which was flamed at the table! A delightful evening! more

Too Stuffy - Great Food 2/15/2008

Upon entering the very tasteful and sophisticated restaurant, we were greeted by a gentleman who just escaped from the Wax Museum. Not to worry, after 90 minutes into our dinner, I think I saw a slight smile (this just in: it may have been gas). Our waiter, just out of formal waiting 101, was professional, but must have been Waxman's accomplice. We made our own good time and the food was very good (shrimp cocktail, porterhouse and flan) and it was nice-sized portions too. The price is reasonable to high. So my recommendation: Have a cocktail prior to your night out, and enjoy...! Pros: food Cons: ambiance more

Great 1/14/2008

I have been going to Christy's for 10 years and absolutely love it. Never had a bad experience either. For starters, the caesar salad, escargot and shrimp coctail are among th best in Miami. The meat is equally as good. And make sure you get the Baked Alaska for desert for a mini, table side fire show. Pros: Great Food, Service Cons: Limited Seating more

Slow service, rude staff, bad food for price 8/11/2007

I agree with the other reviews on here regarding the bad quality of the food here. For the prices charged, one expects the best but receives average. Also, the staff is very slow and not responsive. I was also very surprised and shocked to overhear one of the staff apparently a manager making rude, disparaging remarks about Hispanics. Considering Miami is majority Hispanic, I suggest this particular staff member move to another city or country, maybe back to his home country since I noticed he spoke with an accent. Overall not what it's cracked up to be. Pros: ""Chic"" Cons: Service, Food, Value more

Exellent service but so-so food. 8/7/2007

We had not been to Christy's for several years and went on a recent Sunday at 7:00 P.M. There was no valet service, no meters near the restaurant and we ended up walking over a block in the heat. Once there, we were seated promptly at a lovely table and our waiter was excellent throughout the meal. The food itself, however, was so-so. The Caesar salad, though delicious, was over-dressed and a bit soggy. The steaks were excellent but the baked potatoes had the consistency of a microwave preparation that had been finished in the oven. More gummy than fluffy. The vegetables could have had a bit more seasoning. They were fresh but on the bland side. For dessert we had baked Alaska which was perfectly prepared and ignited at the table. Since this is the slow season, perhaps we'll try it after September and see if it is a better all around experience. Pros: Service and ambience Cons: Parking more

The Best for your money 3/8/2005

When you compare wht you recieved in this restaurant with others in the same category, you notice the difference. The steaks are fabulous, the salad is great. more

What a disappointment 2/22/2005

I made a reservation for 14 to celebrate my recent marriage. Upon arriving, we were escorted to our table, at which point we were promptly seated and offered water. Butter was put on the table, but no bread, which I had to ask for and received 20 minutes later. After all my guests had arrived, I had to request menus (is it not the point to have dinner when going to a restaurant??). The waiter forgot to take one of my guests' order, so we had to go after him (literally leave the table and find him) to get that order in. Finally, when the much-awaited entrees arrived - which some of my guests assured me would make up for the service - they were lukewarm. All this for the bargain price of about $1200. Christy's certainly made the night memorable, but not in the way I had hoped for! Cons: Expensive, Bad service, Tight seats more

Great 8/27/2002

Went this Friday night. Place is nice and cozy. Service was excellent. We both had the Filet Migon. This was trully a work of art. Would go again. not as expensive as I thought it would be. Pros: service, steaks, dessert more
