Why am I not surprised at all the negative comments?! Because the "spa" has major attitude, that's why! Totally not worth the price of admission. Don't waste your money there. Go somewhere else. I have been to this salon several times over the years for cut, colors and an updo. I mostly went back due to the lack of salans in the area. But I have found the staff to be rude and the prices inconsistant. High end salons in the city are more gracious to their customers than they are at Christies. Although the stylists dont do a bad job on hair it is so unpleasant being there that I would rather go almost anywhere else. more

I went yesterday for a color correction by Lois Christie herself and now I need another color correction! She did not listen to me and her staff were rude. My appointment was supposed to last 2 hours, I was there for 3 hours because I was waiting for someone to help me half the time. I called today to schedule an appt to have her fix my hair and they put me on hold 3 times, I waited 15 minutes to speak to someone. To top it all off, my color "correction" (yeah, right) cost me close to $300!! Once my hair is fixed, I will NEVER go there again! You should not waste your time and energy in this place, go to a salon where they will treat you better and where you will be listened to. Afterall, it is your hair and you have to live with it. more

After giving this place several visits, I will never go back. The front desk is the worst I have ever encountered. Very unprofessional and immature in their behavior, especially the older woman. No manners or common courtesy there at all. Also, don't count on being taken care of even remotely around your appointment time. more

I gave them chances, but every visit to this salon was worse than the last. I walked out with blueish hair and awful streaks of blonde after an inept colorist showed complete disregard for what I asked for, and obviously had no idea how to mix chemicals. I walked out with raw and ripped skin after a horrific eyebrow waxing incident and was in pain for days after a massage and facial which involved the "therapist" sharing incessant stories and not letting me relax. They herd people like cattle. You walk in and feel like you're a chore for the staff and they rudely and impatiently shuffle you around. You are not welcomed, or made to feel valued. No more bad haircuts, color jobs, spa experiences or being treated like crap. Oh..their prices are inconsistent like the cashier just makes them up from what she thinks you'll pay. I have been going to this salon for years, but I will never return after this past weekend. The staff was rude; they ignore you and just move customers around like cattle. This treatment resulted in the worst haircut I have ever had. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. more

This is a great Manhattan style and quality salon located in Queens. The colorists and haircutters are very talented and top quality, especially Sylvana!!!!! She is the best colorist around and keeps me looking great always. Owner, Lois Christie only hires top quality staff that she trains personally. She is a great businesswoman and runs a fabulous salon. This is the reason for her success. The salon is expanding every day providing more and more services to their clients. I find all of the staff to be very friendly, including the women at the front desk!! It is a place to definitely try out!! I didn't think I could get spa service in a hair salon in Queens... I was wrong. I went in here on a whim in mid-December to get a hair cut. I had no appointment, but the friendly staff told me it would be a short wait. I got a Brazilian wax as well. I got a quick, profesional, low pain expereince in a clean comfortable private room. My haircut was fabulous. I returned mid-January for a followup Brazilan and a massage. Agian, the wax was very well done. The massage was excellent! About $80 after tax for a full hour. She was great - felt out stress and knots I didn't even know I had! Honestly I was skeptical because the place looks like a hair salon, but their other services are really stacking up to be excellent as well! Everyone complains about the front desk....well I have noticed a BIG change ..... 2 of the rudest people behind the desk are no longer there...the salon is under major renovations and has the promis of being something WONDERFUL....and the talent of the staff compairs to no other salon in Queens...and Gerry has the lastest in Microdermabrasion and Laser treatments for the face....they realy work and are 55% less than a Dr. office.
