BEST PLACE TO DINE! 3/2/2011

My first time at this restaurant was on Valentine's Day because my husband wanted to try something new. I looked at a lot of reviews on this place and noticed they had a lot of 5 stars so I went in ready to nit pick this place apart. As I mentioned, this was my husband's idea to dine there not mine. I thought their food can't be THAT great--no way! However, after dining there once we are hooked and have been back several times already. Don't get me wrong, the food is good but I know why now they have so many high reviews! They really knock it out of the park in all areas of customer service, good food, ambiance, etc. They offer the whole package. When you walk in the door you are greeted by a very friendly woman. The decor is very nice, I liked it a lot. I ordered a glass of Merlot and it was very good--I actually had 3 glasses that night! For appetizers we ordered fried calamari which was a very generous portion. For dinner we splurged that night and had their filet mignon and lobster. The filet was very tender and on a plate with au jus and delicious mushrooms. I have never had a filet like that before. By far the best steak ever !! The butter for the lobster was brought out in its own little dipping dish with a lit candle on the bottom to keep the butter warm. The soup was delicious and obviously home made and their salad bar is a basic. They do have some other salads like macaroni salad which was good but for before dinner at other places you get just a small salad; here you can have what and as much as you want. For desert I had coffee, kahlua with whipcream on top ( I special ordered it and they were happy to make it) with their heart shapped raspberry cheesecake. I have to say, it was the best dinner I have ever had. We now go back weekly for their steaks and ribs. Everything here is great. The service, the atmosphere, the food., the people, etc. more

A real gem!!!! 7/28/2009

I've been dining at Chris' for over 20 years. I used to go with my parents when I was younger and now I take my family there every week!!! We come all the way from Orland Park, it's so worth it. First of all, Roula (the owner) is alone worth going for. She is so lovely and treats everyone like family. Let's not forget about the food though....it is top notch quality and prepared to perfection. They're know for their ribs which are out of this world. All of their dishes are sublime, the atmosphere is so welcoming, great weekly specials, generous portions and the prices are unbeatable. Roula makes you feel at home and knows almost everyone who comes in by their first name. I highly recommend this establishment.l more

A REALLY AWESOME PLACE! 8/25/2008

I really dig this place. Everytime I pull up, I get that theme song in my head from the tv show Cheers--where everybody knows your name. It's very friendly. I have to say everyone that works there is a lot of fun yet professional so if I bring a business colleague I can still impress. I usually like to get there early, although you don't need reservations, I usually make them because I always bring with me a group because it's more fun. The vibe is pretty cool, and you get to enjoy things not all chains provide. Such as hot bread, fresh made soup, and the best steaks and ribs you will every find on this planet. I took my cousin there who is a vegetarian and she now goes back every Thursday as there is something on menu for everyone. She has the chef make her some special pasta and vegetables that she can't get enough of...and she goes nuts for the salad bar. I like to bring people here because I know you can't get a bad meal, the service is great, you get your value for your buck without any quality being comprimised, and then we like to have desert and then go and hang out at the bar. Sometimes, we just go to the bar and hang out, have a few drinks and apps, and either get a dinner to go, or deserts to go. I tease the owner she needs to open a 24 hour drive-thru, it's that good. Pros: lots of parking space, great service, good food, professional, great dining experience, something for everyone Cons: not open for breakfast more

THE BEST FOOD & PRICES 8/7/2008

We have been to Chris' Coach House many times and always have had the best food and service. With todays tough financial times, it is great to know that we can still get a great meal with soup, salad bar, and an entree for a reasonable price. We can even splurge on desserts!! Our favorite is the prime rib and cream of asparagus soup on saturdays. They also have 1/2 price black angus burgers on Tuesdays with all the fixins!!! We (my family , my wife and 2 sons) reommend this place anytime. We also love that is family owned and operated, not some chain. Its off the main strip (Rt 14) but it is worth the drive!! Pros: food & prices Cons: location more

Good food but absolutely horrible service ruined it! 6/21/2008

The food and prices are reasonable. The staff is the worst I have ever encountered being both extremely rude and inept. If they don't get rid of the unprofessional staff I expect to see a for sale sign on this place soon. My wife was snapped at when she inquired about the bill and the waitress actually chased us out to the parking lot to holler at us for the lack of what she considered a sufficient tip! When I told her it was for unprofessional service she then snapped at me! Suzi the waitress (if you could even call her a waitress) has to go! Thanks for ruining my father-in-laws birthday! Pros: It was close by and we used to like it. Cons: Suzi the waitress. We will never go back there. more

BEST B.B.Q. RIBS 3/8/2008

It has been our pleasure dining at Chris' the atmosphere is this cozy barn with a neighbor feel to it. Everyone is addressed by name if you've been there more than once. I am pleased with the consistency of the food, HOT bread arrives as soon as you sit at your table, all the entrees come with soup and salad bar(with the best greek salad & lots of feta cheese!!) The food is always hot and the prices are cool!! Pros: the food, the prices, the service...everything!!! Cons: closed on mondays more
