Chops Steakhouse Llc

This was our first experience at Chops. It was my mother's birthday and she had driven in to visit. We wanted to go somewhere nice without having to travel too terribly far. We live in the Clayton area, and had heard of this place and passed it numerous times but never been. We had no idea what to expect. We chose Chops as the perfect destination and are so thankful!! From the moment we walked in we were treated with the utmost professionalism and warmth!! Janet greeted us and showed us to our table, a nice booth Our son who is 2 years old was with us and we were worried that it wasn't appropriate to bring him to such a nice place. Boy were we mistaken!! They were extremely accommodating and had special plastic cups and a kid's menu. The menu itself was quite nice and we had trouble deciding. We opted against appetizers and salads because we wanted to save room for the meal. Had I known the food was this good I would've wanted to explore the menu a little more!! Janet, our server, was extremely knowledgable about the menu, the different cuts of steak, and the dry aged process. She helped us pick out the perfect entrees for each of us and even let us do some ""special requests"" because my father did not like the vegetable of the day. The steaks were absolutely fantastic and cooked to perfection. The smashed potatoes are divine!!! From the moment we stepped in until we left we felt like guests in someone's home, not just out at some restaurant as a customer. I was blown away by the hospitality and unassuming feel of this place and we want to thank Chops and Janet for making dinner so wonderful. If you're looking for a relaxed yet nice restaurant where you don't have to wait an hour to get a table this is your place. We'll be back again soon Chops, thank you!!! I have dined at Chop Steakhouse since its conception. Ihave had great food and service each visit. The Sunday Buffet is always outstanding. I would like to state for the record that I am a Chef at a Raleigh restaurant and I admire what they are doing at Chops. The atmosphere is relaxed enough to dine in shorts and yet formal enough for a shirt and tie. Pros: definate thumbs up Cons: salads not included in entree prices more

A friend of mine form church suggested we come along with them last week to a brunch buffet. Usually I am not the buffet type and was weary of grazing on bland out of the can fare. I am here to tell you that I was blown away by the selection and creativity that was put on display! I hadn't been out to Chops since it was the old Michael's fried fish house and had no idea that they had done such a nice job totally remodeling the building. The food was excellent, especially the seafood lasagna and homemade banana pudding. I will be back soon more

I've been to chops about 10-15 times and always had excellent service and delicious food. Tonight, I had tainted meat, a 14oz strip. The management tried to cover it up by stating it was the dry aging process. Well, when meat smells like fermaldehyde I would tend to think it might be tainted and the dry aging process has been going on a bit to long! For management to cover it up by saying it was the dry aging process is ridiculous and an insult to my intelligence. Typically, when a customer is served tainted food, a manager should comp the entire table because everyone is affected by the incident, and to ensure all parties involved return for better cuisine and a chance for the restaurant to redeem itself. Free desserts don't make up for tainted meat. Service was wonderful, management has horrible, and so was the food. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. We have come here probably 8-10 times now and have never left disappointed. We got our first try upon using a certificate from a local radio station and have never regretted the extra time it may take to drive here. The maple glazed stuffed pork chop, the steaks, or the ancho glazed salmon have all been excellent. My prime rib one time was a bit on the fatty side but we have never left unsatisfied or un-happy. It also has a nice atmosphere and is not noisy which is a big plus for me as well. more

After dining at Chops twice this month I have found a place to bring clients without having to go inside the beltline. We entertain out of town guests from Telacres (Bayer) and our guests were quite impressed with the dry aged beef. I would suggest taking a trip down 40 to the 42 exit to sample what I think is the tastiest steak in the Triangle Pros: awesome steaks, cozy bar area Cons: a bit off the beaten track more

Service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was excellent also. Our meal was near-perfect, but the group next to us, their chicken cordon came out cold in the middle! Our steaks were great though, very tender and full of flavor. The lady that had the error, received a steak to her likeing instead, and they left very pleased also. more

I ordered the 5oz filet and was thrilled with my meal. Their dry aged beef is to die for :-) more
