I have been a customer of Chip's for over twenty years, so it goes without saying I truly enjoy the food. It is a very sad time when you have to worry about being assaulted by the staff of one of your favorite restaurants and even worse to find the management won't fire the assaulter because he is his son. Therefore, you need to know you must not complain at Chip's. Unfortunately, I experienced not only a frightening but unconscionable situation. One week before this I ordered takeout and returned home to find I was given the wrong order. When I ordered yesterday I asked the young man to be sure to he got my order correct. My Son went in and was given the wrong order. I checked this one before I drove home, somehow I almost wished I hadn't. I went in and in trying to resolve the matter I was verbally assaulted, threaten and my food was ripped from my hands and thrown to the ground. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told, with much profanity, that he-the young man was the owner and to get out before he strike me. I left and after many tears I composed myself and called the manager-I should have stayed and called the police. He listened to my story and told me he would look further into it, I told him I wanted the boy fired. I asked him to have the owner call and he promised they would. No one called... so I went back. It was then I found out the young man was on ""probation"". As I pushed for why he wasn't fired he finally admitted the boy was his son. ANY employee should be fired for that type of behavior and if he were my Son he would be suffering more consequences than that - but then that is why we are here. Hanis actions with no consequences... Beware, do not complain I promise it will not be worth it; oh and he isn't just the manager he is the owner.
