Last Friday night I went to Chip's on Lovers Lane (as my family has done since I was a freshman at HPHS) and was absolutely Shocked !! For a couple of months I had watched as some new owners had started some much needed renovations and wanted to take my husband and kids to sit out on the new patio. When we arrived, the place was complete chaos !! At least 20 kids were playing football and Lacrosse IN THE PARKING LOT !! There were kids climbing on the patio screens, climbing on tables (inside and out) and running around the restaurant like wild animals!! Where were the parents ?? OUTSIDE ON THE PATIO GETTING DRUNK !! No one was watching any kids!! It was the most bizarre thing I's ever witnessed. My kids go to school with most of the kids in the parkinglot and wanted to play with them. I told them to wait in line with me because we were getting our food to go. (At least the new owners haven't screwed up the food yet! The same old couple who have run the place for forever and all the friendly cooks were still back there getting the food out like always, but you could see in their faces that they were overwhelmed by all the madness. My husband went overe to look at the new bar and every barstool had kids crawling on them and the bar !! I have never witnessed such criminal negligence and endangerment to children asI did at Chip's. I should have called the police but my husband wouldn't let me. He laughed and said that if they think guys would actually come there to watch sports in that mess, they must be crazy. They might as well put Sponge Bob on the TV's and make it an icecream bar. Good luck to anyone who accident.y wanders into that place !! Please be careful, YOU WILL RUNOVER A CHILD !!And I'lll be watching the papers to see when it happens. I'll be in court for the prosecution that day!! Goodbye Chip's, thanks for the memories!!
