Best

Had the BLT sandwich and it was huge. The service was quick and efficient. The atmosphere was just delightful.

Worst

We went to enjoy happy hour. We ordered wine and beer...which we believed to be on the happy hour menu. We ordered two pizza's. I questioned the server about the ""duck"" pizza ...

Excellent for business 9/26/2005

I take my clients here whenever I need to impress, and Chinook never disappoints. Since I work nearby, this is the most convenient and tasty way to keep my clients happy. Schnitzel, sausage, it's all very good. Pros: Good for business, Ambiance Cons: Hard to find parking more

SIMPLIY THE BEST - PERIOD - END OF STORY 8/2/2005

I travel frequently, and this restaraunt out-does them all! What a magnificent suprise you will encounter in Cherry Creek when you find it! Great Food, Great Service, Great Bar (I am now a frequent member of the bar scene. LOL), Great People (Even the patrons who frequent Chinook Tavern are great). I can't say enough. Chef Marcus does an excellent job and I look forward to both his daily lunch and dinner specials. Don't miss out on this place. Bring a date or bring your friends and you will have a great time. The atmosphere and ambience are tops. Great job Chinook Tavern more

Fantastic Service and Patio. 5/29/2005

My Friends and I dined at Chinoook Tavern for the first time this past friday evening. We chose Chinook Tavern after reading in 5280 Magazine's ""Top of the Town"" issue that this place received honors for top waitstaff (readers choice). We all enjoy going out to dinner frequently and have decided that this restaurant truly lives up the accolades given to it in 5280 magazine. Our waiter was Ali, his service and attitude made our experience exceptional. We waited to get a table on the patio (more like a sunken garden). The bright colors, fountains and flowers everywhere makes this outdoor dining area something special. Our waiter Ali told us this place has been here for ten years, while we have only been in Denver for 7 years we are very glad to have stumbled across this hidden gem and plan to return often. 5 stars for Food,Service, and Atmosphere. more

Chinook Tavern is a Must!!! 5/22/2005

Chinook Tavern is an amazing experience!!! The food is beyond delicious and the staff wonderful. Ambience gets an ""A"", too, it's just very pleasant and cozy and a nice spot to just stay for awhile!! I had the veal shank and the meat just fell off the bone! Every dish was great, including the bread. We had a gorgeous waitress and as my son said ""She's hot!"" We even went in early, we had an 8pm reservation, but got there about 7:15, figuring we'd sit at the bar, but when we asked if we could possibly get a table early, they seated us right away!! This was just an extra reason to be impressed. We were lucky they had a table available for us!! This is a place not to be mised!! Pros: Great parking in the Cons: none at all more

Chinook Tavern Takes Care of Business 5/7/2005

Metro Financial Group of Denver had 4 dinner seminars at this fine Denver restaurant in April of 2005. We chose this restaurant because of a family and a friend that have been committed to providing Denver a great place for German and American food for the last ten years. Several of our guests had many invatations for the same information but chose us because of this location. They felt very comfortable with the wondrous colors of the art gallery. The service was exceptional all evenings, and the room seats 14-16 comfortably for a great client appreciation evening. Great job Clemons! Pros: Parking Garage, Beer, Service Cons: Restrooms more

Time to make a reservation! 4/28/2005

This is a fantastic restaurant. It has atmosphere, it has style and it serves excellent food and German beer. We have our German Stammitsch there every last Wednesday of the month for over 9 (nine) years now, and it is the most wonderful place to meet new people from around the world talk business or just have a family reunion. Pros: Great Food, Great Drinks, Atmosphere more

A place to come kick it 4/21/2005

While in town visiting my former friends, I ambled in to a former haunt of mine in Cherry Creek North Chinook Tavern and was dumbstruck with wistful nostalgia (WHY did I move?) but even more, with admiration for this place. Past first glance, here lives a wise sophistication and intelligent spirit that, to my taste, serves up the best of all worlds. Uptown, downtown, across the pond, in the hood, bohemian, aristocratic, booksmart, streetsmart -- this place is just cool in every sense of the word. You wont find another place like it, because places like this are made, over time, like good wine. Denverites are lucky to have this gathering place, right here, in your back yard. Makes me want to come home more often. Pros: parking garage more

A wonderful family owned fine dining restaurant 3/2/2005

Chinook is one of those restaurants that I just want to keep going back to for its consistent quality and presentation of food and service. ""Hats off"" to the owners, chef and staff - as a team they get an A+! My friends who enjoy German food love those menu items but I enjoy the variety of the rest of menu. I am always offered a dessert - can't pass up! They are to die for! Chinook's atmosphere is just one of those places that I feel comfortable in talking business or spending time visiting with friends over lunch. Oh, I've got to mention how I appreciate the parking garage behind the restaurant and that Chinook pays for my parking! I highly recommend Chinook as I am especially impressed and supportive that it is a family owned affordable, consistent, fine dining restaurant in our midst. Pros: Quality of food, service/ambiance, free/easy parking more

Surprising New Discovery 2/20/2005

The other night a friend and I walked through Cherry Creek North and stumbled into Chinook Tavern. What a remarkable place. We were seated by a friendly hostess in the center of the restaurant and were able to look at all the art displayed. When the waiter approached us, we were already in an exited mood. He recommended a cheese dish as appetizer and the Crispy Duck, the special of the day and a wonderful red wine. It was great. When he surprised us with the dessert tray it was difficult to make a choice, to much mouthwatering items. We settled with the chocolat mouse. No regret. We had a wonderful time and will be back. Pros: ambiance, food, service more

This is my place 2/18/2005

When ever I come back to Chinook Tavern, and I do this often for a couple of years, I feel comfortable and at home. The waitstaff, especially Ali, who is there since day one, is outstanding, attentive but unobtrusive. The food is great and consistent. Besides the classics like Jager Schnitzel,Wiener Schnitzel and excellent Fish Dishes Chinook Tavern offers eclectic menu variations through its daily and weekly specials. I never was bored. I never had a bad meal. A superb wine list complements the food and no where else in Denver can you find a better selection of premium imported beers on tap. Add the warm ambiance and the art display, I enjoy it. If I take friends or my family there, everybody raves. Find out by yourself! Pros: food quality, value, service, ambiance more

Check it out. You'll love it. 2/15/2005

For whatever it's worth, Chinook's Tavern is the only restaurant in Colorado I know of that offers a wienerschnitzel on its luncheon and dinner menu as good as any you'll find in Europe.. Generous servings of thinly sliced, breaded veal with Rosti potatoes, Haricots verts, baked tomato (and hard rolls) that are tastefully presented on a large white plate by friendly, attentive and obliging (as opposed to enterprising) personnel in a clean, well-lit environment (with white tablecloths), make it well worth your visit. Check it out. You'll love it! Henry White more
